#275781 Prize chest

Posted by Chuckoramma1 on 06 March 2019 - 12:32 PM

What is your suggestion?:

Addition of prize chest and keys

Pph3Zbk.pngRDUo1FL.png

Currently Weekly hosted events Give cash and sometimes items donated by players

i think this should be reworked and not give cash but give prize keys instead

The key its self

RDUo1FL.png

Can be valued at lets say 25m

Skilling event prize 100m would now be 4 Prize keys

RDUo1FL.pngRDUo1FL.pngRDUo1FL.pngRDUo1FL.png

I would love for these to have the the same drop table as a Supper Mystery Box or close.

Pph3Zbk.png

as for the chest it can be located in ;;shops next to general shop or close to the door

(well edit a pic in when home)

THIS IS ONLY OBTAINABLE WITH WEEKLY EVENTS IRONMAN CAN NOT WIN THIS AND MUST CLAM ON A NORMIE OR CLASSIC

Is this in OSRS?:

Yes but only for players owned houses

Has this suggestion been accepted already?:

Nope

How would this benefit Alora?:

people love to gamble and if they can risk 25m ish for a chance at a party hat i believe it would be worth it

To many time i see people win events and go right to ::duel with there winnings this would give the player a option to gamble it in a different way or Simpy sell the item

Player run events such as hide and seek (H&S) its not always easy to find things to giveaway ask @Lowkey but giving away keys you buy from the tp or win is a great alternative

#275358 Suggestion for adding "Wintertodt"

No support on this. Firemaking is already easy as it is. Let the developer focus on other important things.

#275381 Ultimate Ironman Progress Journal - Third Comp Monkey

Posted by Sassa fras on 05 March 2019 - 10:34 AM

I've decided to start keeping track of the progress I've made on my UIM account, Eucalyptus.  I'll update it every 1-2 weeks (or after major events), and hopefully it might inspire a few players to start up their very own Ultimate Ironman. I won't be making any insane goals like catching Diseased or Nacyto on the highscores, but I would like to comp this account and maybe get another Tbow.

May 11th, 2019 - Third Comp Monkey

Disclaimer: It's been a while since the last entry, irl and staff duties have delayed my progress a bit.

I picked up this bad boy at the God Commanders Event:

WYImvb6.png

Then I got two 200ms in one day, Woodcutting and Firemaking.

3J7Q08Q.png3J7Q08Q.png

I wanted three skills for comp that were relatively quick, I could have done fishing to go along with cooking but I'll get plenty of XP from capping Raids anyway. Speaking of fishing, it took me nearly 50m fishing XP with mantas to get 10 hard clue scrolls. I swear I got about 20 of all the other clue tiers...

The other requirements weren't so bad, other than maybe 250 strung jewelry and 250 wilderness laps.

And to finally get that monkey, I finished it off with Barrows (and my collection log tab):

wW2t0TC.png

IczKicZ.png

A few things about the requirements:

1) You don't need to finish all quests.

2) You don't need to unlock all the songs on Thunk's guide: https://www.alora.io...ous-music-cape/

3) The Clan Wars achievement can sometimes be ridiculously awful to complete.

ytkPDJA.png

In the next few weeks I'll be finishing up the last of my non-Raids gear grind at Bandos (and maybe try to get a Lance at Hydra). Otherwise I'll be doing Raids/TOB and enjoying some skilling on the side.

April 18th, 2019 - Fire and Brimstone

Last weekend I achieved my first 200m, 8k wines in the making:

s1jP9Fk.png

Spent some time camping Konar tasks, reobtained my Brimstone Boots:

As well as making another piece of end-game gear, the Brimstone Ring:

KoA49wr.png

jt92ufi.png

While still at Hydra, I managed to get my preferred slayer helm color (abby heads got nothing on this):

xeEFEhk.png

On the second attempt, got another achievement knocked out. Helps to have master I suppose:

I've been putting off doing the clues achievement for way too long, and I still have the wc/fm grinds to go.

#282227 Arcane and Uber - Achievements update [2]

Posted by Gp on 25 March 2019 - 08:58 PM

On the 4th of december 2018 I posted to this section of the forums after having comped my uim (;;topic 45059 for those interested). Due to todays progress i think a part 2 is necessary.

Today i bought uber donator rank through in-game gp and received an arcane sigil drop from corp at 317kc.

Furthermore, since the last update i FINALLY received my ranger boots and got my first tob drop (avernic defender hilt). Now that i have received a sigil i will start grinding raids 1&2 and hopefully complete all of my shorter term goals on this acc.

Of my long term goals (Inferno pet, black partyhat, black skin colour, pharaoh sceptre) i have achieved the black skin colour and am well on my way to owning a pharaohs sceptre. I plan to get this at the same time as master donation rank.

For those who don't know, this arcane is the first sigil on an ultimate ironman account in Alora - something I am proud of. The average droprate for a sigil is 1/476 so to receive one at 317kc is lucky. I was only uber donator for about 5kc before receiving the drop.

#255377 Group Ironman Competition Information

Posted by Maleficia1 on 11 January 2019 - 09:20 PM

I think you severely overlook the fact that having team members work together will directly impact how fast a single player can progress. Sure one player could grind 1500 total levels himself but it can be done much more quickly and efficiently with a team working together. Just some food for thought when thinking a "single" accomplishment has nothing to do with the team factor of group ironman.

Sure, fair enough. But it seems odd to set out to design a mode designed for teams to work together and play together and then provide incentives to funnel everything to one member. Is that teamwork? Maybe so. But I personally think that takes the mode in a wrong direction. I think that teams should be rewarded for all playing and working together towards a common goal rather than funneling one player. Just how I look at it.

#227730 Ultimate Ironman guide / tips, 2018

Posted by Bhaal on 23 October 2018 - 10:26 PM

Hey guys,

I'm going to list information / tips here that are unique to Ultimate Ironmen (UIM) only - so this guide assumes that you already know how to complete these things on a regular / elite Ironman account, but might not be sure how to do it on an Ultimate Ironman account with the banking restriction.

UIM xp rates are the same as regular Ironman (40x for non-cb skills).

These are my opinions and other UIM's may have better or more efficient ways of doing things, so keep an open mind :). I'll update the thread as I think of things. Alternatively jump into the ICE clan chat to ask any other questions, as there are usually a few UIM's hanging out there.

Index:

1. Looting Bag

2. Noting / Unnoting Items

3. Saving Inventory Space

4. Transferring Items to a Main Account

5. Using Store Tokens

6. Pets

7. Wilderness Activities

8. Skilling

9. Raids 1 (Chamber of Xeric)

10. The Inferno

1. Looting Bag

          a. Function: This is an item that you carry in your inventory and can hold up to 28 items. Effectively it functions as a second inventory, although it can only hold tradable items (untradable items cannot be stored in it). However, when you put items into the bag it will be hassle to get them back out, so only put in items that you won't need in the immediate future (such as supplies).

                             4c90349c09c6026a13dc7f290507c7c2.png                   d53dd19723c0286fa633f25416109dc2.png

          b. Getting a looting bag: To obtain a looting bag, kill any creature in the wilderness. 'Thugs' in level 1 wilderness in the Edgeville dungeon are ideal. The drop rate is roughly 1/30.

          c. Depositing items: You can only deposit items into the looting bag in the wilderness. I use the teleport: PVP > Varrock (multi-combat) and then run north and jump the Wildy ditch, as this area is less crowded than running north of Edgeville. Be wary of bounty hunter opponents teleporting to you. Tip: it can be helpful to note PvM drops (that you plan on transferring to a main account), as you may subsequently get a second drop of the same item and you'll save space if they are noted.

 4e21974dab74e884682b1c518b4c6dd2.png        7a59707cbdacfce1590f98074dbdec1a.png

          d. Retrieving items: This can only be done by "Suiciding". Teleport to the Kourend Catacombs and die to the 'Dark Beasts' there. Once dead, your items will drop to the ground, separate from the looting bag. Go back to the Kourend Catacombs, pray melee, and grab your stuff (including your looting bag). The death timer for UIM is 60 minutes and your items will not appear to anyone else for this full duration, giving you plenty of time. The looting bag does not get destroyed when you die (unlike OSRS) - instead it just drops on the ground and empty's all of the items that were in it.

88747dc2787bd259ad335684d253a589.png  e5648f6d3257fd2feb3a5056a4ea9a0c.png

2. Noting / Unnoting Items

          a. Use items on bank tellers in order to note or unnote them.

3. Saving Inventory Space

          a. Untradable Items: Many items that are untradable will be stored with the "Lost item manager" (south of edgeville bank) when you die and they can be re-purchased for gold - anywhere from 200k to 1 million gp, depending on the specific item. Use this to save space when you don't need the items. Items that are stored at the Untradable shop include: Anything purchased from the achievement shop (Shayzien armour, cooking gloves, etc), skill / max capes, elite void, crystal halberd, imbued rings, slayer mask, dragon defender... and more.

Note 1: Making items untradable by adding ornamental kits does not always (or ever) work. E.g. adding dark infinity re-colour to infinity robes does not make them go to the Untradable shop, instead they just drop on the ground like they usually would. However, imbuing rings does work. So it's item specific.

Note  2: 'Dropping' untradable items does not work (they won't go to the untradable store, they'll just disappear) - you have to actually die with them in your inventory for them to go to the untradable store.

                                            fe5288ca8e757f3b3733263003f2a31b.png

          b. Inventory Storage Items: The Rune Pouch, Herb Sack and Seed Box can all be used to save space (see para 5a for more details).

          c. Thanks @UIM Dummy for this tip: you can use barrows armour sets on the trading post to turn them into one item.

Note: The Zulrah banking method (in OSRS) does not work on Alora. Additionally, the POH costume room does not work - it can be built, but you can't store any items there.

4. Transferring Items to a Main Account

          a. Description: It can be useful to transfer duplicate PvM drops to a main account, as you can then sell them.

          b. Method: Firstly, be wary of transferring your cash, as this can be a little crippling when trying to buy back untradable items or insuring pets. Secondly, your main account will need to either be the same combat level, or very close, in order to do this with the least amount of risk possible.

So the method; Suicide in the Kourend Catacombs (see para 1d), but before you die make sure that you type in ;;skull, so that you become skulled and don't keep your best 3 items. Once dead, run back to Kourend Catacombs. You may have to pick up half your items and suicide again on a different tile, as you may have too many items on 1 pile to selectively pick them up. Note: This does not cause your first pile of items to disappear - you can die as many times as you want within the next hour and each pile of your dropped items will have its own independent 60 minute timer.

Grab ONLY the items that you want to transfer to your main, and teleport back to PvP > Varrock (multi-combat). Type in ;;skull again and then let your main account kill you in level 3 wildy. There's always going to be some risk to this (e.g. a bounty hunter opponent could teleport to one of your accounts and steal the kill), so be ready to flee back into safety if this happens.

          c. Getting Bonds on UIM: You can buy in game Bonds on your main account, "Revert" them for 5m gp, and then "Use" them on your UIM.

Note: Drop trading items on a UIM account does not work.

5. Using Store Tokens

          a. Priority items for Saving Space: With store / donator tokens, consider buying a Rune Pouch, Seed Box and Herb Sack. Not only do these items save you space, but they will also go to the Untradable store when you die, so they can be stored themselves later on if you don't need them at that moment. Alternatively, the Rune Pouch can be gained as a PvM drop from Wildy bosses, the Herb Sack can be purchased with 7.5k slayer points and the Seed Box can be obtained from the Daily Task Rewards for 350 points.

                          54ab10df864a58a7337611e0b7d70aaf.png               0111fad8779453b4e7179309e1e23914.png               aa246cabf63b9d6a3efccc0fc823f1fe.png

Note: Thanks @UIM Ymmud for this tip: If you die with the seed box in your inventory, you will lose all seeds that are stored in it.

          b. Other Useful Items: Like on regular, HC and EIM Ironman, other useful items include: Imbue scrolls, Imbued Heart, Magic Stones (if going for Nature Pet house)... etc.

6. Pets

There are a couple of ways to store pets on UIM.

          a. Pet House: A Nature Pet house can be constructed at 92 construction, however this requires 2 magic stones (very rarely dropped by monsters or obtained through the ;;store). Additionally you need a total of 22 free inventory spots (20 build items, + a saw and hammer) to hold all of the items required for its construction. The Nature Pet House holds 8 pets only (unlike on OSRS). Lower tiered pet houses hold smaller amounts (e.g. Oak houses hold 2, Teak 3... etc).

                                                                                                           3c68383dd72639824a423e6a61facce0.png

          b. Probita: She is an NPC just south west of Edgeville bank. She will insure each pet for 10m gp, and you will need to pay 1m gp if you want to recover a pet. By right clicking "Check" on her, you can see all of your insured pets in a nice concise list. This is a more permanent way to store your pets if you decide to start pet hunting (for more than 8 pets for example). Once insured, you can suicide to lose a pet so that it doesn't take up space in your inventory.

Note: If you die with a pet in your inventory, it will drop to the ground as an item. Do not leave it to dissapear, as Probita will not realise that this pet is 'lost' and you won't be able to recover it later (although it will stay on her list of insured pets). Make sure that you die with your pet following you, as this will then classify it as being 'lost'.

                                                                                              339be98dacd9a5b889338d7ebcf0f836.png

7. Wilderness Activities

          a. Fortunately, the 60 minutes death timer for UIM provides plenty of opportunity to complete wilderness activities whilst your items lie on the ground in relative safety. Be aware that Power Cuts or Internet Outages can really screw you over here, so try be careful. Also bear in mind that items that would go to the Untradable store on death will continue to go there even if you get killed by another player, regardless of what level Wildy you're in. So for example, this makes the Crystal Halberd and Elite Void ideal for PvM'ing in the Wildy, as you can never lose them (you just need to pay gp to get them back).

          b. UIM's keep 3 items when they die (unlike OSRS), or 4 if using the Protect Item prayer. Below is an example of a Wildy PvM set up:

             736681b67417b176153659793c12901f.png

Note 1: You could supplement your protected 3 (or 4) items with untradable gear (such as elite void), but make sure that the untradable items are the ones that will be lost on death - not the normal tradable items (like my bandos armour in the above pic). You can check this by clicking on the "Worn Equipment" tab, and then the "View items kept on death" tab.

Note 2: Instead of keeping noted food in your inventory (and risking it in the Wildy), you can thieve one item at ;;thieve, sell it to the trader there and then buy a fishing item (e.g. harpoon) to fish an inventory of food. In the above set up, I have the cooking cape as my 4th item (99 cooking req, or alternatively cooking gloves are good). It only costs 100k and is useful for cooking high tier food without burning it - thereby slightly increasing the amount of time you have in the Wildy to PvM before needing to pick your items back up.

8. Skilling

For the most part I'm not going to describe how to skill - there are plenty of other guides out there for these, so I'll only comment where your skilling method might need to be adjusted in light of the fact that you're a UIM account.

          a. Inventory space: For some skills inventory space is a priority, so it's best to store as many items as possible in your looting bag and wear the remainder. If you have too many items to do this, it's going to make your skilling of some skills less efficient. Try not to jump between skills too much. It's an unfortunate downside of UIM that camping 1 skill to level 99 at a time is the most efficient way to play.

          b. Prayer: You could use the chaos altar, or if you can't be bothered using the suicide method to enter the wildy (or don't want to risk your bones), you can instead use them on an altar in someone else's player owned house, and then tele back home and unnote them on the bank teller to get another inventory. If you have your own gilded altar then you can use this (only need a tinderbox) for quite a lot more xp. Unfortunately the demonic butler won't unnote bones.

          c. Runecrafting: The runecrafting pouches from the Aubury npc at ;;shops are very useful. Don't be afraid to drop your pouches after you're finished a runecrafting session, as you accumulate a lot of runecrafting points and there's nothing better to spend them on anyway (so you can just drop your pouches, re-buy them, drop them again... so on).

          d. Construction: Zulrah drops Mahogany planks and Kraken drops Oak planks. Making planks from logs is workable, but quite tedious. Use a demonic butler to speed up the process, as he will unnote items in your inventory for a small fee. Alternatively for best xp, you can make Incense burners at level 69 con (in a chapel room) out of 2x Steel bars and 2x Bolts of cloth. Steel bars can be gained from Gargoyals, or easily from Steel dragons (especially once you've completed Dragon Slayer 2 and can get them noted). Bolts of cloth can be purchased for gp from the Construction guy outside the POH.

          e. Herblore: These herbs are good to keep: Irits, Kwuarms, Cadantines (for xp), Toadflax, Snapdragons, Ranarrs and Lantadymes. The first 3 herbs all have easy to obtain secondaries, and are useful for boosting your stats whilst slaying / PvM'ing. The last 4 are useful. Personally I don't collect Ranarrs or Lantadymes anymore, but you may find these helpful early on. For secondaries, Eyes of Newts can be purchased from Paul, Limpwurt roots and White berries can be quickly obtained from Kurasks (I collect these only as needed - they don't have a permanent spot in my bag), Birds nests from the GIant Mole, Red spiders eggs from Venenatis (drops 500 at a time so only really need once, use the suicide method first so you don't risk your stuff).

Note: Birds Nests can be obtained by trading in your mole skins and claws to the farmer in Falador park, BUT when you trade him noted skins / claws he will give you back UNNOTED nests. Don't be a pleb like me and trade him a giant stack of skins and claws, as you cannot hold all of the birds nests he gives you and you'll lose most of them on the ground. The best way to do this is to unnote an inventory of claws / skins at Falador East bank (make sure you have a Pestle and Mortar), drop your main noted pile on the ground, re-note the 20 or so unnoted ones and drop these on a different pile. Depending on whether you have claws or skins, do this 2 or 3 times. Then run the smaller noted pile to the Farmer to unnote for birds nests, and then run back to Falador East bank to pick up the larger pile.

                                               8cbf8793b7da02110fee41257a501da2.png

          f. Crafting: Although you can do this by cutting gems, by far the easiest method is to collect flax from Zulrah (drops 1,000 at a time) and use the "Spin Flax" lunar spell to quickly spin them. You'll need Astral runes, Nature runes and an Air Staff. Although this is slow, it's faster / easier to collect supplies in comparison to other crafting methods. Fortunately UIM's still enjoy a 40x xp rate, so it doesn't take 'too' long.

          g. Fletching: You can fletch the abundance of magic logs that you get from bosses / wc, or alternatively buy both broad bolts components from the slayer master (feathers not required) and add them together - this is a cool method as it isn't affected by having limited inventory space available.

          h. Smithing: Crystal keys will get you a lot of rune bars, so if you do slayer first this will go a lot easier. Collect adamant bars from Zulrah / Skeletal Wyverns. With the introduction of the blast furnace, you could utilise both noted runite ore and coal (both dropped by Zulrah and other bosses) to make extra bars.

Note: Thanks @Elite Sheets for this tip: making gold bars at the blast furnace (with goldsmithing gauntlets) is the quickest way to level up. Avoiding having to use coal for smelting is also super helpful for UIM accounts, due to the limited inventory space. Additionally gold ore is dropped by a few monsters (such as Gargoyals) and so can be collected passively whilst slaying, or can just be obtained and kept whilst training mining. Gargoyals also drop steel bars and mithril bars, which can be useful for lower level smithing xp.

          i. Farming: Definitely plant as many herb seeds as you can for herbs, you can Note grimy herbs on tool lephrechauns, and additionally they will hold onto your farming equipment so that you don't have to constantly re-buy them from Paul (or carry them around). If you're trying to rush for 99 farming, I'd suggest camping Lizardman Shamans as they drop both yew and magic seeds fairly commonly (plus you could get a dragon warhammer), and these only take 90 minutes to grow.

9. Raids 1 (Chamber of Xeric)

          a. Inventory: The set up is the same for normal / elite Ironmen accounts, except with 3 additions - your looting bag, zulrah scales and noted saradomin brews (optional). It's completely fine to not bring any super restores as they're easy to loot inside a raid (and you generally only need to loot a couple). It's also possible to just bring cooked fish instead of brews, although your team mates might not like you looting a tonne of Xeric's Aids. Use the bronze axe spawn in the Ice Demon room (instead of bringing a dragon axe) and don't worry too much about super potions (you can often loot them within the raid anyway).

        b. Switches: Elite void is great, as this saves on the amount of switches you need to make. You can get away with only switching out your void helmets and weapons, although to be a little extra effective it's not a bad idea to also switch amulets / necklaces. You don't have to bring a crossbow + rubies (blowpipe is fine by itself). Additionally if you want to save on darts, consider bringing a trident + mage void switch for Olm's right hand, as it does a good amount of damage with the latest Olm update.

                       aa32a542355410b9fd93bf9e76098516.png                     e33a186f43d49f8defaf8cf151185d2a.png

10. The Inferno

          a. Method: This is basically the same as completing the Inferno on other account types. However, be mindful that you'll have at least 1 or 2 less inventory slots. Blood barrages / blitz's can save you taking too many brews. Consider not bringing a crossbow + rubies, as your toxic blowpipe can be used on the final boss (unlike OSRS). The crystal halberd can save you having to bring a shield slot - if you do bring a shield (for tanking when maging), wear it when you go in so that you can have a full inventory and then drop, pick up and re-drop a prayer potion in between waves (until you've got enough space to hold it).

          b. Supplies: It's a good idea to plant ranarr weeds or snapdragons in your herb patches, so that it is quick to restock on potions if you die inside the inferno, without having to waste time killing monsters for the herbs. Soul runes (for blood barrage) and super restores (if you can't make them) can both be obtained as drops from Cerberus.

#116707 Development Blog #5: Construction Preview

Posted by Omicron on 11 September 2017 - 09:23 AM

Hey guys,

Following the recent poll results where most of you said that you'd prefer to see construction in-game before Fossil island, we've shifted our focus entirely onto construction!

The core (saving, room configurations, object configurations, landscapes, etc) is mostly done, now we're onto the extra functionalities, such as make the glory amulets on the wall, incense burners, etc all work properly, as well as adding ways of obtaining these things in-game! It's a huge skill, and there's a whole lot to it, but I'm confident we'll be able to cover most of it on release and if we miss anything we'll add it soon after.

This video is intended to show that 90%+ of the rooms and objects are functional, as well as previewing the rooms before you build, removing rooms, etc.

It may look complete but we still have quite a bit of work to do, as well as testing, before we officially release this. We're not too far off though, and as it's now my primary focus it shouldn't be too long :)

Hopefully everyone's just as excited as we are to be this close to bringing you Alora's final skill :)

#117477 New Comp cape idea

Posted by Medics on 14 September 2017 - 09:53 AM

I think this cape looks pretty awesome though -  maybe this could be an idea of a cape that could show off your journey on the amazing mighty Alora!  ;)

Instead of being an updated idea of a Firecape; there could be an option to change the colours/add the current cape combination for the max maybe.

OT: I don't mind the Monkey though, but I will admit it does look kinda dull with just a Monkey on your back to show off your hard work/achievements.

#117347 Receive an Email from TP & Suspicious Activity

Posted by Chase on 13 September 2017 - 09:28 PM

I'm curious to hear other peoples opinion about this suggestion, so please leave feedback.

Wherever a person goes, they most likely are carrying their phone. Now a days, most phones are able to access email.

Upon creating an account, you're asked to enter an email. That email is then used to create an account on the forums.

Currently a player (from what I know) only receives an email when that user has been sent a private message on the forums.

I'm suggesting what if players could receive an email once something has sold in their Trade Post.

Maybe a user could be curious to know if there items have sold, but isn't currently available to login to check.

Or it could be used as a notification, to alert the player to login.

For example,

Subject: [Chase, you have recently sold an item in the Trade Post]

Text: Hello Chase, Your "Fury" has just be sold for "7,500,000GP" from "other user" at "9:03PM".

Now for this suggestion, I would also suggest to add the feature of allowing a player the option to enable/disable this.

Some players upon login, type a random email address they are not even associated with. Others use a real email address.

This could either be added to the TP when you right click > Help, or into the Account Guardian NPC Dialogue.

To even continue this suggestion even further.

How about using the players email address to enhance security even more.

When an IP logs in that is not normally recognized by the same IP upon account creation, a player could receive a warning email.

2FA does an amazing job already, but couldn't someone still technically login despite being able to have full access to the account? This would warn those who have 2FA enabled, and for those who don't have 2FA enabled, that suspicious activity has recently occurred.

A player could enable/disable this feature at the Account Guardian.

For example,

Subject: [Chase, Alora has noticed suspicious login activity]

Text: Hello Chase, We have noticed that you have tried to login in from a different IP that was made upon your account creation.

Original IP: 94.382.211.29

Recent Login IP: 92,191,111,21

If this was not you, and you suspect suspicious activity, please change your password via forums immediately

Thanks for taking the time to read my suggestions, I'm very interested to hear what you may think.

#117384 [9/14/17] Trading post tax reduced, Donator zone fixes/additions, Ancient wyv...

Posted by Omicron on 14 September 2017 - 04:24 AM

Hello everyone,

In today’s update, many of you will be happy to know that the Trading post tax has been knocked down from 5% to 2.5%! This means you’ll now barely notice it, as it is exactly half of what it was initially. We monitored the speed at which gold was generated and removed from the economy, and with all the gold sinks (including: tax, well of goodwill, banned accounts being wiped, etc) we’ve actually seen our gold economy slightly shrink. This wasn’t necessarily the goal of the TP tax, although we did need a way to slow the growth of the economy, which we believe a 2.5% tax should achieve just fine and keep prices stable.

This update is not as large as usual of course, but we’re focusing all of our resources on Construction at the moment, so this is mostly an update to push out some necessary bug fixes. You can see the progress on Construction here: http://www.alora.io/...uction-preview/

  • Trading post tax reduced:
    • The % of your sale that goes to tax has been reduced from 5% to 2.5%.
  • New shop item:
    • We can’t get Fossil island out right now due to the full focus on construction, but we know that many of you would love to get your hands on one of the new items in the meantime!
      • Ancient wyvern shield ~ 850 tokens
        • This shield is one of the best Magic shields in the game, with stats comparable to that of the Arcane spirit shield when fully charged.
          • Similar to the Anti-dragon shield, you also receive dragonfire protection wearing this shield.
  • Inferno fixes:
    • Fixed not being able to see the boss on the far right side
    • Fixed distraction monsters on final wave not retaliating to you if you hit them with magic
  • Previous update bug fixes:
    • Redwoods ladder in Woodcutting guild has been fixed
    • Donator zone fixes/changes:
      • The fire has been moved into the bank and other random objects have been removed to make space for it.
      • Slayer master’s (Steve) right click options have been fixed (trade/assignment/rewards)
      • Furnace in DZ is now working
    • Opal crafting has been fixed
    • ::shops command will now bring Ironman to Paul instead of the shop room
    • Godsword special attack animations fixed:
      • For some reason, the previous update broke the old animation ids for the Godsword special attacks. We’ve grabbed the latest ones and pushed the fix.
  • Donator Zone new additions:
    • Rejuvination pool
    • Nurse
    • Altar
  • Battle royale fix:
    • Pressing the ESC key to close the viewing orb interface is now blocked.
  • Object examines added:
    • Objects now have proper examine text!
  • Miscellaneous:
    • Fixed Skotizo randomly despawning on players sometimes (not World skotizo, but player-spawned skotizos)
    • Grim reaper hood is now tradable
    • Fixed killstreak announcements showing the player’s rank instead of their icon (eg. OWNEROmicron just shutdown X’s kill streak)

Keep an eye out for construction information soon ;)

#111904 Slayer Suggestions.

Posted by Cuddeh on 25 August 2017 - 02:42 PM

1. Allow Donators to block more tasks

2. At 50$ donator you can cancel for 0 points so why not just allow super donor + to just pay 30-50 points to choose a task and save players the time of canceling 10-20 tasks to get the right 1.

3. The ability to cancel task just from right clicking the slayer master or canceling via quest tab would make it alot easier when canceling 10 + tasks.

4. The ability to extend tasks.

    • Experience rate
    • Item-transfers
    • GP obtained form caskets, ensouled heads, etc set back to normal.
  • Classic mode bug fixes:
    • You can now loot other Classic players’ drops from NPCs.
    • Fixed Bob’s skilling supply shop
  • Miscellaneous:
    • Pulling out a noted Slayer staff (e) will no longer change it into the normal Slayer staff.

Hello everyone,

Classic Mode is now live! You can now login and create a new Classic account. Make sure to check out the competition information for a chance to win up to $350 in cash prizes and more over the next 7-9 days!'

Update: The Classic highscores are now online! Have a look to see who's topping the ranks:

Classic Highscores

http://www.alora.io/...-350-in-prizes/

  • Combat fixes:
    • Magic attack distance increased by 1 step. (10)
    • NPC aggressive distance fixed:
      • Default (for most npcs) has been reduced from 6 steps to 4 steps.
      • Magic axes/Zombie/Skeleton aggression reduced to 2 steps.
      • King black dragon aggressive distance increased to 10 steps from 6.
    • NPCs who have no way of reaching you will now end combat and stop facing you.
      • For example, if you are being attacked by Magic axes and you leave the axe hut, there is no path for the axe to reach you, so it will end combat with you.
  • Birds next changes:
    • The chance of getting a special nest (Eg. Clue nest, birds egg nest, gold ring nest) has been increased from 1/7 to 1/4 to make it more likely.
  • Skotizo bug fixes:
    • If you tried to summon Skotizo and he was already in the world it would reset your timer to 12 hours and not allow you to summon during that time, which was not intended.
    • The de-spawn message would show even on player-summoned Skotizos. This has been removed and will only show then the World-event Skotizo is defeated.
  • TzTok-Jad Slayer task blocking bug fixed:
    • Previously, you would still receive this task if blocked.
  • Armadyl dragonhide added to hard clue reward table
    • These hides were not on the hard clue reward table (an oversight on my part) and have been added.
  • Raids drop rates increased
    • Unique loot will now be more likely to receive.
  • Bloody chest rates increased:
    • The rate at which rare items are given has been increased by 10%.
    • Donators are now more likely to obtain extra items from the chest:
      • The chest usually gives 1-3 items, but donators will now have a chance at extra item(s):
        • Regular, Super and Extreme donators can have one extra items (up to 4 total, if very lucky)
        • Legendary and Uber can have two extra items (up to 5 total, if very lucky)
      • The chance of landing an extra item:
        • Regular: 5%
        • Super: 10%
        • Extreme: 20%
        • Legendary: 25%
        • Uber: 35%
      • Note:
        • Extra items rolls are individual of each other. For example, if you are an Uber donator, you have two chances at an extra item at 35% chance per roll. That means you have a ~17.5% chance of obtaining 2 extra items.
        • An in-game message in green will tell you when you hit 1/2 extra items.
  • Fixed Max cape requirement:
    • Farming was previously unnecessary to max in order to get the max cape. This has been fixed, and you will now need all skills to be 99 to get the cape.
    • This also fixes the “ has maxed out their skills!” bug.
  • Miscellaneous:
    • Corporeal beast invincibility bug fixed.
    • Community manager/Veteran yell tag colors fixed.
    • You should now be able to continue writing your PMs while Smelting bars.
    • Jack lantern mask is now tradable.
    • You can no longer equip Barrows gear that is fully degraded (0) on the Equipment interface.
    • Gambler will now shout “View ::topic 15270 to see the gamble rules and ranks!” every so often.
    • Grimy Irit leaves can now be noted/unnoted.

  • Classic mode is now live!
    • Experience rate:
    • 5x across all skills
  • Experience bonuses:
    • 50% of the usual bonuses
    • Vote books can only be opened once every 12 hours.
  • Item-transfers between normal accounts:
    • Bonds can be transferred between normal accounts, but vote books can only be transferred between Classic players.
  • Decreased gold rate from:
    • Thieving, Crystal chest, Pest control, Money Caskets, Ensouled heads, Emblems, Shooting stars
  • Shop nerf:
    • Some shops have reduced items. For example, you cannot buy rune armour from any shop. Up to adamant is purchasable, though.
  • Donations are available, but only items from the Ironman shop can be purchased.
    • Additionally, some donation perks are nerfed.
  • Classic-only Clan chat:
    • If possible, Classic players will be entered into the “Classic” clan chat rather than the default “Alora” one.

Note2: We've made some changes to the Classic PvM competition in regards to the amount of points you received for different accomplishments. Make sure to familiarize yourself with the point structure!

#107445 Classic Mode

Honestly don't want to see a classic mode. Seen it on many other serves and always turns me away. Splits the community and makes iron men less popular.

#105716 Barrows Suggestions

Posted by 1 on 03 August 2017 - 02:19 PM

- Change it so that Dharok actually does damage.

- Add "Barrows points" to the "Points" section in the Game Panel.

- Change it so that the faster your run is, the more Barrows points you get. Currently, the amount of points you get is random, as far as I know.

- Add each Barrows item to the Barrows shop for 7,500-10,000 points. This one would benefit ironmen.

#96240 NPC that makes unfinished potions for you

Posted by 1 on 03 July 2017 - 06:31 AM

This could either be a donator perk, a good money sink or both.
