Keeping it real | Realism Mode

13 February 2021 - 08:20 AM

What has Slov been up to?

When I joined Alora I didn't think I'd enjoy it anymore than any other RSPS. Fortunately that wasn't true and I've had a blast playing in Realism mode and I can say it has been one of the most enjoyable Runescape experiences I've had.

I recommend it to all players if you have the time to invest into it.

My stats are nothing to shout about but they're a solid enough start for me to continue on my road towards maxing the account. My main goal at the moment is to get all levels to atleast 50. I've held off on Runecrafting right now because I want to make the most of the bonus exp day on the 20th.

Expect to see me mining essence this week!

I'm also planning to do a bunch of Wintertodt on the account to try and unlock the outfit, pet, and ofcourse for the helpful rewards along the way. I feel like its the right time to do it now since my skills are of mediocre level which will provide better drops for my levels in the supply crates.

Dragon Slayer II is also up there on the list but I am going to hold off on that until I have 75+ range. I will be training range while doing Slayer and I'll be spending my next lot of points on a dwarf cannon.

Notable Advancements

  • Acquired Full Graceful
  • Acquired Gem Bag, Coal Bag, Prospectors Top
  • Acquired Mage Book and Master Wand
  • Acquired Slayer Helm (i)
  • Acquired Dragon Defender, Fighter Torso, Abyssal Whip and Amulet of Fury
  • 50 Barrows Runs

Top tips for Realism from my perspective?

  1. Find an amazing clan (cough Paragon) and get to know the other Realism players out there, they're an awesome bunch.
  2. Pace yourself and make the most of bonus experience opportunities.
  3. Don't fall into the 'higher combat = easier gameplay mentality'
  4. Utilise minigames and their rewards
  5. Have fun with it! You'll find the milestone jumps much more rewarding.

Molch Pearls? Forget it.

Aerial fishing is such a great activity in the game but it's just not worth doing. The rewards for the pearls are set at a ridiculously high value. 1,000 pearls for a fish sack? Alright Alry, put down the pipe.

It would be great if the rewards in-game would better reflect the drop chances for the pearls. The intensity of the activity (picking up worms, clicking moving tiles, dropping fish) far outweighs the time needed to unlock everything. Especially considering that we don't have the fishing trawler minigame to unlock the Angler Outfit.

PROS

Hunter and Fishing EXP gained for doing the activity (not massive gains but sufficient if there was an attainable end goal)
It's somewhat fun
Chillin on an island is dope

CONS

The rewards are seriously over priced, not even by a little
Click intensive
Can't cook the fish for cooking exp

Slov in the house

Hello Forum Lurkers, I have eventually got round to logging in. It turns out that it doesn't matter about my recovery email being invalid.

I'm loving the server so far and very glad that I chose to play the Realism gamemode. I've found an amazing clan called Paragon which has some top notch folk in it (recommended by Vikings) and I've bumped into other friendly players while training skills. All in all, A+ Tier community.

Enjoy the rest of your day and thank you for all of the quality content within the forums.

Peace, stay safe B)
