Instanced ground items

17 April 2024 - 05:55 PM

What is your suggestion?:

Make both NPC/Boss drops & dropped items by the player last 60 minutes inside of instances

Is this in OSRS?:

Yes

Has this suggestion been accepted already?:

I searched, but was unable to see if it has, so I'll say no.

If it has already been suggested, and denied, is it possible to revisit the idea as I'd assume it hasn't been suggested in awhile, as I was unable to find it.

How would this benefit Alora?:

Having items on the ground last 60 minutes inside of instances is just overall a QoL change. It can help speed up kills at places such as Duke for example, with not having to wait for your drop to appear before going to collect resources for the potions to wake him up. It also reduces the need for juggling food & potions constantly while inside of instances. There's quite a few Combat Achievements that require a good amount of kills while inside a privately rented instance, and generally in order to do that, you have to juggle both food & potion drops from the bosses. Having to juggle food & potions every 1/2 kills is just overall obnoxious, and a waste of time. It often times leaves me feeling rushed between kills as well. Not to mention forgetting to juggle, then having your food & potions despawn right before your eyes. It also helps to not have to clog up your inventory during your instance session with drops from the bosses if you don't want to, as they would last for the duration of your instance, or until you're ready to pack it up and leave. This applies to both privately rented instances, as well as bosses that are already instanced, such as Zulrah, the DT2 bosses, Grotesque Guardians and so on. It's just one less thing you have to worry about, and making just killing the boss your only priority.

Alora prides itself in mirroring OSRS as well as it does, and this being a core element of OSRS, I feel it's almost necessary and kinda odd that this doesn't already exist. Playing OSRS, you probably don't really put much thought into the fact that items last 60 minutes on the ground inside of instances because it's been around for so long.. but once you're somewhere else where this isn't the case, you realize you've taken it for granted lol. At the end of the day, it's a major convenience, helps heighten your gameplay experience, and most of all, is huge QoL.

Thank you for your time.

Auto equip grave

03 April 2024 - 06:34 PM

What is your suggestion?:

Osrs not long ago added a setting to auto-equip items you were wearing when you died when looting your gravestone

(also chests such as Nex)

I originally came up with this suggestion because I'm currently going for 200m farming on a GIM. While trying to get the most out of my limited supply of seeds, I tend to wait for the gods to spawn before starting my farm runs for the day. I feel like this could be beneficial for people who are in a similar boat as me. Including the rest of the events is just a bonus.

Since it doesn't provide the location for Skotizo/Chest/Key in the event page, people wouldn't just be able to camp at the location right as they spawn. They could just be geared and ready to go at the most.. Which isn't that much different from them spawning, and someone loading a loadout within seconds of them spawning, and teleing to the location.
