Regarding Recent Hackings

22 June 2017 - 08:15 PM

Hey guys,

It has come to our attention that some users have been getting hacked in the past 24 hours. We've come to find out that another big RSPS has had their database compromised. It's an unfortunate circumstance to be in but in light of this information, we're HIGHLY recommending users change their passwords and enable 2FA if you haven't already.

When changing your password, we recommend you choose something new and unique that you haven't used before. As players that use the same one on multiple servers are more vulnerable to these situations. If you need help activating your 2FA, you can find our guide that we have here http://www.alora.io/...tication-guide/ .Once that's activated and your password changed, your account will be as secure as it possibly can be.

For players that don't know how to change their password, you can find it in your User CP settings.

Once you go on your settings, you go to 'Email & Password'. From there you can change your password, and your email if you wish to.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to PM myself or any of our Staff Members that are online at the time.

Regards,

Haris

For 2FA related issues

24 May 2017 - 11:46 AM

If you are having two-factor authentication issues and need it disabled. Please make a topic here:

http://www.alora.io/...ssword-support/

Once you've started your topic, fill out the form and include the following information in your post:

Your username you're having the issue on.

Your MAC and IP Address.

Any donation receipts and confirmation emails will be asked for if necessary.

Once you've done this, a staff member will get back to you as soon as possible.

For those that don't understand how to get the MAC Address of your device, please refer to the information below.

For Windows Users:

  • Open/Run command prompt
  • Once open, type in "getmac"
  • Copy/screenshot all of the results that show and include them in your thread.

For Mac Users:

  • Select System Preferences from the Apple Menu at the top left of your screen
  • Choose Wi-Fi from the list of interfaces on the left and click the advanced button
  • Choose the Hardware tab, under that you will see the MAC address of your wireless card

For Linux Users:

  • As the root user or user with appropriate permissions
  • Type "ifconfig -a"
  • From the displayed information, find "eth0" (this is the default first Ethernet adapter)
  • Locate the number next to the HWaddr. This will be your MAC address

And for those that don't know how to obtain their IP address

If you have any further questions or are unable to obtain some of this information required, please message a staff member so we can assist you with it.

For anyone that needs help setting up their 2fa, please refer to this thread here:
