Funny how things work out sometimes.

Almost 10 years ago, I randomly stumbled across Alora. No big expectations, no particular reason, just browsing around looking for another RSPS to play. I didn't even realise the server had only been released a week earlier. I genuinely thought I was just joining some random server that had been around for a while.

Turns out, I was about to accidentally become part of something that would stick around for the better part of a decade. Who would've thought?

Back then, nobody really knew what Alora would become. It was just another new server trying to find its place in the RSPS scene. Fast forward nearly ten years, and here we are. Still going, still bringing people together, and still somehow managing to make people log in when they probably have a hundred other things they should be doing.

And that's probably what makes Alora special.

Over the years, the server has gone through plenty of different eras. Different generations of players, countless updates, new content, old content, staff changes, community events, rivalries, drama, and probably enough ban appeals to fill an entire library.

Some things have changed quite a bit, while others feel like they've barely changed at all.

There are names that have been around for what feels like forever, players who seem to have made Alora their second home, and others who disappear for two years only to randomly log in one afternoon as if they've just been on a lunch break.

And honestly, seeing those familiar names pop up is one of the best parts.

Having had the pleasure of being part of the staff team for several years has also meant getting to see a different side of the community. The people behind the scenes, the work that goes into keeping things running, the countless interactions with players, and all the little moments that probably go unnoticed but make a difference.

Of course, not every moment has been sunshine and rainbows. Anyone who's spent enough time around an RSPS community knows there's always something happening. One day you're helping someone with a simple question, the next you're somehow in the middle of a situation that requires a full investigation, three witnesses and a detective's degree.

But that's part of the charm, isn't it?

Even after all these years, it's still nice to occasionally check in, see what's happening, catch up with some familiar faces and find out who's still around. Sometimes you log in expecting a quick look around and end up chatting for an hour because someone you haven't seen in ages happens to be online.

It's a strange feeling when you think about it. Almost ten years have passed. People who first joined as teenagers are now adults. Some have moved on, others have returned, and plenty have made friendships along the way that go far beyond a game.

That's something you don't really appreciate until you take a step back and look at the bigger picture.

RSPS servers come and go. Communities change, players move on, and the next big thing is always just around the corner. Yet there's something quite special about having a place you can return to after months or even years and still recognise people.

Alora has never just been about the game itself. It's the people, the memories, the ridiculous situations, the familiar usernames and that little community feeling that's surprisingly difficult to find elsewhere.

So here's to nearly ten years of Alora. To everyone who's been part of it, whether for a few weeks or practically the entire journey. To the current and former staff members, the old-school players, the newcomers, and even those who probably shouldn't be allowed near the report button anymore.

And to everyone who has helped make this community what it is.

It's funny to think that all of this started with randomly joining a server without even knowing it had released a week earlier.

I was just looking for another RSPS to play. Apparently, Alora had other plans.

Here's to many more familiar faces, unexpected reunions and memories to come.

Congrats @Omicron!!! <3
