We are less then 3 weeks away from Alora's 6th Anniversary!

 

This year has surely flown by during the pandemic that never seems to end, however the community has never been stronger as a family! We've had a lot of new faces recently, and hopefully with the anniversary & the TOA update coming soon we can start claiming the throne that is ours in the RSPS scene! GIM Flex and his partner GIM Doblo first arrived into Alora December 16th as fresh level-3 Group ironman. There was no initial goals set, it was just to introduce Doblo playing ironman as he had never tackled playing ironman on a private server nor real runescape.

Week 1:

     Day one's goals were to initially figure out the game plan, Doblo is a great Skiller so we sent him straight to mining/smithing & Fishing/Cooking, the idea was for him to keep me supplied for the lower level gains with darts, food eTc. while I focused on advancing my combat skills. By the end of Week 1 Doblo had managed to unlock Adamant ore mining as well as the ability to fish me karambwans which was a huge plus as it made me able to safely kill zulrah!

Throughout the first week of game play I also made an appearance at my first Boss mass on the account, Did the elite void grind and tried my luck at barrows

Week 2:

     I would say some of the most pogger gains on the account, has occurred during the second week of game play. Both accounts managed to deposit 5,000,000 Coins into the Miscellenia Coffer for skiller supplies, Drops I managed to get for Doblo as well to get those skillerman gains! I had 2/3 dragon items for him so I decided I will hunt that harpoon for him. The grind actually was a lot shorter than expected but now all 3 dragon items are done; Pick-axe, Axe & Harp.

     Doblo managed to grind the full prospector gear set as well, huge shout-out goes to him for doing that so quickly.

 

Its only the first day of the 2nd week and the supplies we've managed to gather is actually shocking!

 

Off to abbies i go!

Week 3

    Week 3 consisted of LOTS of Kraken. As sad as it is Kraken did not want to give up one of his tridents for us, I kept my head held up high had Doblo crafting/buying runes as much as possible and just sat on that bridge and cried in slow agony. My trident did not come until over 520 killcount. These next few weeks are going to be quickly summed up and not gone into as much detail or else this post would be 100 pages long but I don't want to just "skip" to catch up on weeks.

Week 4/5/6

     Until these weeks, Doblo and myself were practically staying even in experience skill wise. This is when my hardness and thrive to hunt max came into action. I slowly stopped PVM/Combat and started the Skillerman activities whenever I had an opportunity too. Seeing as I was the only player available to gather resources efficiently, (Doblo ended up very busy and somewhat inactive for a week) The gains weren't 100%, but I definitely noticed a huge experience increase these weeks, Starting from roughly 10-20m experience.

Conclusion:
    This Group Ironman grind wouldn't be the fun it is if it wasn't for the one and only @GIM Doblo. I understand he is not the most active compared to myself but that is 100% okay, I've known this man for only going over a year now but it feels like it has been a decade. Glad to have met you buddy, amazing work keeping me supplied on the gains!
       I will be hoping to post weekly progression threads to keep you all updated on the collection logs and gains! As this post is already plenty long enough I will leave out Kc, Achievements eTc, until next weeks log.

What is your suggestion?: to either lower the price of sanfews in the pkp shop or add 4 dose instead of 3, currently its 15 pkp per 3 dose sanfew which IMO is absurd

Is this in OSRS?: No

Has this suggestion been accepted already?: No

How would this benefit Alora?: no struggling for sanfews would be kewl, making them is TERRIBLE.

Really insightful post. From my point of view, as a player who never pked properly I feel like I don't have the competence to discuss pk related topic. But, in regarding of #3 Dragon bolts - don't support. Just the fact that you can only obtain it from Vorkath (excluding addy and rune dragons with their 1/121 of obtaining d bolts) makes it more valuable. If staff decides to add it to pkp shop it becomes much more easier to obtain and the value of the items decreases drastically(which obviously is too high atm) but that is not the main issue. Vorkath becomes a boss that no one wants to do after 50kc, atm I would definitely find motivation to do a Vorkath slayer task just because I know I can get my hands on some additional d bolts. Perhaps this perception changes if you are a normie who do not want to grind all the parts yourself but when looking into games economy - It would only make it worse.

Hello everyone,

This day was gonna come, always struggled to quit Alora since it was a pretty big part of my life but right now I’m quite busy IRL, got a new contract at my job, school will start again in a few months and other stuff around it like spending time with gf and family and other responsibilities.

It’s been around 2 years and 5 months here on Alora, which I’ve been staff for 2 years and 4 months, I feel like still playing / being staff here holds me back IRL and I’m finally comfortable of leaving Alora, knowing that I have made some awesome accomplishments and made some great friends and also friends that will stick around long after Alora.

It was a pleasure to work here, learned a lot in these years which will help me IRL as well, I want to specially thank @Omicron and @Lowkey, the only 2 people who are still here from when I started.

The team is looking great, better than ever before and I’m sure they’ll do great things, and make Alora even better of what it is today.

This doesn’t mean I’ll completely leave but will still play rarely and still check Discord. It’s more a decision to not get stressed out since a lot is going on right now.

I think dz as a whole needs to be revamped. That being said, I don't think there needs to be any thieve stalls at dz because the ones at ::thieve are just fine. I also don't think there should be dz exclusive thieve stalls that give more than the level 90 stall.

This update is intended to hold things down while we finalize work on the Inferno, which should be available in Alora in the very near future! Some highly request bug fixes have been implemented, as well as an interesting new Killcount milestone system which boosts NPC drop rates when you hit certain milestones. 

 

 

 

 

Updates:

• Fixed NPC spawning issue:
  • Some NPCs weren’t spawning in instances in mini-games. This should no longer happen.
• Killcount Milestone Bonuses:
  • Thanks to @Jare for the idea!
  • To make your endless PVMing experience more enjoyable, we’ve added a new system to give you a bonus when you reach PvM milestones!
    • For example, when reaching 100 kills for Corporeal beast, that drop will have a 5% better chance at loot. On your 500th kill you’ll have a 25% better chance. This % caps out at 33%, so after you’ve reached the 750 milestone it’ll always be 33% increased chance.
      • Example:
        • This means that if an Elysian spirit shield is 1/450 chance, on a milestone kill it’ll be 1/297 instead, making it considerably more obtainable.
      • An in-game notification will tell you when this increased drop rate takes place.
        • You’ll see a purple message that says something like“Your rare loot chance has been increased by 12.5% for your 250th Zulrah kill!”
      • This happens at 100 kills, and every 250 thereafter
        • (eg. 250, 500, 750, 1000, etc)
      • Formula = (killcount / 20) || 33.3%
        • Whichever of these is lower will be used.
      • This is similar to the permanent Uber donator drop rate boost of 7%, which also stacks with this.
• Void equipment changes:
  • Buy-back price cut in half
• Corporeal beast core fixes:
  • Dark cores will now de spawn when corp dies.
  • Dark core animations/bonuses fixed.
• Drop rate changes:
  • It should no longer be possible to get two unique drops (Eg. Two Dagannoth rings) in one drop.
  • Additionally, it is now possible to obtain more than two drops from a boss.
• Login screen “Last logged in X days ago” added.
  • We’ve removed the “You are logged in from IP / MAC” as some video-makers were forgetting to blur this out in their videos, and it is not necessary for most people anyway.
    • In it’s place, we’ve added the “You last logged in X days ago” function which will show you how long it has been since you’ve logged into the game
• Duel arena fixes:
  • If you stake any item that you don’t have room for (eg. You’re holding 2.1b in your inventory and win 200m), the winnings will be added to your bank if possible. If not possible, the winnings will be dropped on the ground.
    • Messages will be sent to notify you if the winnings could not be added to your inventory, and whether they were banked or dropped.
  • Forfeit death bug fixed:
    • A bug has been fixed which caused a player to die and lose their items if they forfeited at the exact moment they take the final hit. It was a rare bug that only happened under unique circumstances, but a necessary fix nonetheless.
• Background updates:
  • Major performance improvements across the board
    • Less CPU/Memory usage which lead to increased stability have been applied.
• Trading post fixes:
  • Mostly performance enhancements to put less stress on the server, but also a bug fixed when refreshing search results for a player search which would show incorrect search results.
• Miscellaneous:
  • Dragon defender (or) is no longer stackable.
    • This means that it can be bought back from the Lost items manager.
  • Fixed bug that made it possible to pickpocket NPCs more quickly than usual.
  • Fixed misc. bug with cannons
  • ::discord command fixed — link was expired.
  • Staff command update:
    • ::steleto will no longer be silent if teleporting to an administrator.
• Fixed Quick-prayer bug:
  • After dying (or entering an area where your prayers are automatically turned off), you would have to click twice to turn your quick-prayers back on. This has been fixed so that you must only click once as intended.
• Giant mole killcount and kill time will now be recorded.
  • They’ll also show up on the boss PvM records lectern at home.
• Snakeskin crafting:
  • Snakeskin (obtained by killing Zulrah) can now be crafted into different items!
    • Using a needle on a piece of Snakeskin(while having thread in your inventory) will allow you to craft:
      • Snakeskin body, chaps, vambraces, bandana or boots.
        • NOTE: In the GIF below, the wrong amount of required Snakeskins is shown for testing purposes. On the live game, it is matched to OSRS. You need a whopping 15 snakeskins to create just the body.
• Miscellaneous:
  • Item fixes:
    • The Scythe is now tradable.
    • Banshee set and Hunting knife configurations added (and made tradable).
  • Fixed object clipping issue:
    • Eg. Energy barriers at home could not be walked through. Not sure which other objects this affected, but the bug has been entirely fixed.
• Free-To-Play Shop has been added
  • To assist in gearing for F2P Battle Royale events, you can now access the F2P shop which is located in the shop area and accessed by trading Oziach and contains:
    • Full rune, Fancy boots, Fighting boots, Rune scimitar, Rune battle axe, Rune 2H, Full green d'hide, Amulet of strength & Amulet of power, Coif, Swordfish, Lobster, Normal strength potion, Adamant arrows, Maple shortbow
      • Although most of these items can be bought from other shops, it makes things easier to place them all together. Also, the Fighting boots and Fancy boots are new to Alora and can only be obtained from this shop.

So I was thinking... Regular players have colored names based on their donator rank.

 

I was wondering if it was possible for iron men to get colored names as well in-game for example:

Hey there I recently thought about the monster search tab and while that is already a great help I thought it would be awesome if there were an " Item search " section. Basically instead of searching for a specific monster to see what that drops you would just search for the item you are looking for and it would list all the bosses or monsters that have a chance of dropping it.
