Today the worst update since alora release has happend, devalued every single item in the already bad economy and taking away from people's grind with the pet scroll.

You should not be able to buy end game drops RNG like raids.

The cheap price makes of these scrolls makes even less sense.

I suggest a hotfix

I support a hotfix, I think being a uber/master donator for a drop rate % boost was a good idea. This idea is fine if it is nerfed and costs more or just removed from the game to be honest.

I think it should be same as EIM. Every 3hours. It's not that much of a bonus for your loot, however, if you can stack it endlessly it is kinda overpowered.

I agree with Pacwhale. Remove it completely if its possible or atleast make it not stackable.

I feel like these RNG scrolls shouldn't be buyable. If anything makes these scrolls earned in game somehow or add them to the daily task shop. Adding them for 10 tokens each was a big mistake imo.

Full support of removing these trash scrolls. Thought it was a joke when I first saw a thread about them.

I support in either removing or making it so EVERYONE can only use it once every 3 hours.

I was taken by surprise by this update, the update as a whole was superb it was only the addition of drop boost scrolls that I felt uneasy about. I believe they should be removed, we don't need them in-game. It takes away from the grind you go through to obtain these items and devalues the experience as a whole.

They're not even that good tbh..

In theory they are. In reality they are not. You would not profit stacking scrolls. Even if raiding, the chances are slim you are getting a drop while on a scroll, still. It would only be beneficial or overpowered (in my opinion) when raids bonus is included. Even if raids bonus is on, you would lose money unless it's a twisted bow and that's an ultra rare. It is all randomly generated, it should barely make a difference. It would only increase the likelihood of getting a drop if you did X amount of kills, you wouldn't get lucky just activating scroll and going for example 50 kills.

Meh, the droprate scroll increases a 0.24% (1/416.6) drop by 0,036% so the result would be 0.276%(1/362). Not that big of a boost, maybe in the long run but for the 30 minutes we get, it isn't.

And for the pets, most are 0.03% drops so with the scroll the chances would increase to 0.0345%. The boost isn't even a 1/100th of a percent.

Tho I do agree that the scroll should be limited to 1 per 3 hours for everyone and nobody shouldn't be able to stack them like vote books.

In our eyes, the benefit of these scrolls to players when considering the cost is negligible. We didn’t think it’d be considered overly OP. You’re essentially paying $1.50 to reduce a 1/1000 drop rate to 1/870 for 30 minutes. It’s not that much more likely, and it’s something we were already doing with higher donator ranks. If you’re doing Raids or Corp, then they might come in handy, but even then the drop rate change is so slight that you probably won’t notice it. No, you’re not going to pop a drop scroll and get an Elysian the next kill. Yes, part of the reason these were added into the shop is to increase revenue, as we do need to ensure that Alora is sustainable in the long term, and higher revenue can only be good for the server, as it leads to better advertising/more players, as well as giving us the opportunity to do more events with cash prizes for the community, among other benefits. That aspect is not something that is detrimental to Alora.

At the end of the day, it’s up to the community and always will be. We just wanted to explain our thought process behind it. We’d prefer to nerf them if the community isn’t sure about them, considering the above reasons (and the fact that they’ve been cleanly added into the game with timers and such). Ways we could nerf them:
A ) limit their usage to once every X hours
B ) reduce their effectiveness (though 15% really isn’t that much of a difference)
C ) increase their price to make them less obtainable/readily available
D ) make them not stack with donator rank drop rate boosts. This way, it isn’t much more of a benefit overall than before, and at best a normal player can have approximately the same drop rate that an Uber donator had before this update

These are just some ideas, but I’d like to hear from you guys what your thoughts are on this. I’ll be checking this thread to see what your responses are before I make any decisions regarding the new scrolls :)

Also, just a note @Joey on the “bad economy” impression you seem to have, our economy is actually quite stable and healthy for an RSPS. Other servers have individual players with trillions of gold, we don’t even have a trillion gold in the game in general. Just saying ;) Of course, the more time that goes on, the more items and gold will enter the game, and you can see this on both OSRS and RS3. We’ve got some awesome gold sinks though, and our total GP in-game barely increases over time. Items are a bit more difficult to remove from the game, though.

If we remove it then we might as well remove the Raids drops boost for Extreme/Legendary/Uber/Master donors.

I can see the point of the rare drop scrolls with the numbers you provide, you should wait for 5 days or something let people see if they are op or not for themself.

If the community thinks they need some change, poll the options you mentioned.

But lets say you kill 5000 saradomin for the pet (droprate) , which is like max 50 kills per hr (so 100 hrs total) you can just cut 25 hours out with pet scrolls.
