What is your suggestion?: Add ::renderself command

Is this in OSRS?: Yes

Has this suggestion been accepted already?: No

How would this benefit Alora?: Ability to create cinematic media clips

 

The ::renderself command causes your character to "disappear" to capture video footage for cinematography. 

Note: others players CAN and WILL be able to see the player who used the command still

 

I'm aware it is not a priority although it would be useful to have

 Simple suggestion; shouldn't be difficult to implement

Support for the idea, I feel it would add a creative feature for present and future Alora content creators to make the videos more appealing.

I like the idea for it to be for content creators, but I feel like it could be "abused" in the wilderness and you would gain an unfait advantage because if u are freezing someone and standing under them, if you are "invisible" u can see their gear and their prayer alot easier. I would like this to be able to be used only outside of the wilderness if that is possible. Otherwise I would rather be without it.

Hi @Hinter, thanks for the response. I must admit you do make an excellent point in regards to gear and Prayer visibility. I can see that being an issue and honestly I don't know of a clean solution to it other than an auto disable during combat, initiated or not. I personally wouldn't mind it being used only outside of the Wild but that restricts so much area and even contradicts my thoughts. After all is said and done it is merely a visual bonus. Would like to see more feedback as well.

 

Edit: My suggestion wasn't for content creator ranks. I was thinking anyone with interest in making Alora videos could utilize this.

I like the concept of this command and how it can open opportunities for content creators such as myself to get cinematic shots of the game. It's fair that even though we see ourselves being invisible, we are still visible to other plays. @Hinter brings up a valid point about possible abuse with using this command in the wilderness, and I believe an easy solution would be to disable this command in the wilderness. It could also be disabled in other locations where it could bring an unfair advantage in PvP situations (and events), but that's my two cents for now.

A small misunderstanding. I appreciate the clarification.  :)

 

If we can decide on whether or not this is disabled during combat or disabled in the Wilderness, we may have a solid suggestion.

Ill support, only if it's possible to have it disabled during combat in the wilderness since the wilderness does have a cool landscape people can use for cinematic.

Support - as for the pking issue. In OSRS im pretty sure some skilled players use it for the advantage that you can see the other player when dd'ed. Ofc there is the issue that it makes it harder to keep track of your switches etc... so its purely a skill-related thing.

This feature will be implemented with the Entity Hider feature on Runelite.
