What is your suggestion?: Add a Veteran icon in-game.

Has this suggestion been accepted already?: Yes, it was accepted five years ago but never added.

As long as we can decide on a good icon, I wouldn't mind. However to be consistent we would probably have to add an ex-staff icon as well.

Biased Veteran opinion - SUPPORT

Nice little QoL and as mentioned above - maybe an ex-staff icon to be added.

No support.

 

There's enough clutter going on with icons as it is.

(Donator icons, game modes, clan ranks, member icons and staff icons)

 

The visible rank in yell and on the forums is more than enough.

At the very least make them toggleable, like donator icons, so you're not forced to see them.

@Mack I'm sure it could be made toggleable like the donator icons, there could be a plugin or menu that stores and allows the ability to toggle whatever icons are shown. Honestly titles and icons give players some more reward and feel for their accomplishments, there's no logical reason we shouldn't have a veteran rank icon if we already have the yell tag for it. Forums are dead compared to in-game if we want to talk honestly analytically, so why not reward the players with a minor icon in-game where they spend most of their time anyways? I personally feel like we should have more icons for whatever ranks, mode, achievements, etc the community likes and agrees upon being implemented. With that said I also support the idea of having a toggle menu so that users can freely choose what they want to see, and even what they prefer to have set to display for themselves out of whatever icons they may have obtained.

Support. To add to what Mack said, there's already a lot of icons in-game. So, what's one more icon going to do? As long as it's able to be hidden with a toggle so people aren't forced to see it then I don't see why it shouldn't be added into the game.

Decided to re-visit this thread and draft a quick concept of what it would look like in-game. The icon is the one we use for Veteran's on Discord(you may have seen it used in various RSPS communities as well.).

 

Note that this is just a draft, it would potentially have to be cleaned up / resized etc.
