Unecrafting's foundational GOTR guide
Hi guys! This is my simple guide to a sturdy foundation of knowledge and basic method to complete GOTR solo or in groups.
This is NOT however the most efficient for points (will leave a section on how to maximize) or even for fast KC (will leave a small explanation of faster methods), but it is a simple and easy start for solo or groups.
I have made this video with some explanation and an example kill with commentary for those of you who prefer to have a video or voice (excuse the breathing ). Under this I will also include a text guide for those of you interested in that.
Required Items: Rune pouches, Chisel, Pickaxe
Recommendations: 77 Runecrafting (not necessary but, you're able to use any of the altars)
56 agility(for access to large guardian remains)
Reward Mechanics: For each reward pull you need 1 of each type of point, so it is best to try to balance them out over the course of your games. As mentioned in the video my favorite way to do it to take the brainwork out is to do 2 inventories of Elemental and 2 inventories of Catalytic per game. (in time it tends to stay fairly even after lots of kills)
Below I will list a basic step by step of the method in text form. I will leave sections after this for those wanting further explanation:
1. Mine at the large guardian for the entire 2 minute timer.
2. Climb up the rocks and wait for the yellow portal to spawn if it hasn't already. (can see location when it spawns in top left)
3.Go into the portal and mine a full inventory and pouches worth of essence.
4. Choose which altar you want to go to and craft runes.
5. Use your crafted type of essence on the great guardian.
6. Use cell to make a guardians or a barrier if guardians are at full capacity.
7. Deposit runes in rune pool to save inventory space.
8. Use the workbench to turn your mined fragments into essence for a full inventory.
9. Repeat steps 4-7! and at this point you can just stand and wait for the portal soon to come.
10. Repeat steps 3-9, 2 or 3 times depending on amount of pouches. (with colossal it is guaranteed 2 cycle ((250ish ess)) kill)
Different Methods discussion:
Faster kills: so if your looking to go even faster than this for any reason, look into leaving the large remains sooner (about 50 seconds and 120 fragments with colossal pouch) and you are able to craft an entire inventory of essence and use them before the portal spawns... effectively eliminating one workbench rotation at the end of the shown method.
Point Farming:
Suggestions: Only use strong or overcharged cells for guardians. Use any others for barriers
As far as it goes for farming more points per kill you want to maximize the amount of cycles or rotations you can do without letting the creatures overwhelm you. The only difference for this to the shown method is that instead of depositing enough to end the round you intentionally keep it going and continue doing cycles or rotations until you feel like you might be overwhelmed by the creatures.
