Hey lads, I'd like to suggest a few things for players who have spent a considerable amount of time in the Wilderness. 

The Suggestions

  • 1. Ability to choose your destination when using Wilderness obelisks. As we all know the obelisks currently will randomly teleport you to any of the other obelisks. For people who've spent time in the wilderness this can be an issue. If I have to make it to the obelisk in level 27 and I'm at 51 ports, I have to bounce around the obelisks which can waste a ton of time if I'm unlucky when I could just have a menu that pops up, tele there from 51 & instantly help out my teammate. Likewise, it would be also good for because if there's a kill at 44 ports and he's trying to teleport away, a team could jam it where it would keep teleporting him and the team to the same portal he's trying to escape from, forcing him to run back down to KBD lair. Overall I feel this would bring more life to the mostly lifeless Wilderness in terms of clan pking.  

The interface when interacting with the portal would look like this

  • 2. Removal of the toll for the resource area. When pking at lever & resource area, having coins in your inventory is a huge annoyance. It's one less space for a food/brew, you can forget them if you're running there in a hurry, etc.. Since the requirements for the wilderness rewards would mean there wouldn't be a ton of players with them, I can't see the odd 10k here and there not being removed from the eco as per usual doing any damage to it. This would also be good for people who meet the requirements who want to fish anglers, skill at resource, etc. 


The Requirements

Who gets to use the new perks if they pass? I couldn't see a full diary passing for these to be unlocked like in 07, but I could see if someone has all of the wilderness related achievements completed, including the boss killing and agility area ones, with a total player kill count of 100, 150 or 200 and higher. With such high requirements this would prevent the toll at resource from being completely useless, and would prevent people from making new accounts to jam portals on people.

Overall I feel these suggestions would help the PvP scene on Alora. Even though we still have a long way to go to make it super active, it's about taking things a few steps at a time and I feel this would be a good next step to take.

Dope. also a note Light ballista is able to fire dragon javs in 07, this isn't the case atm. Appreciate all the fixes @Omicron

Working teleport rooms & mounted glories would still be dope to see eventually also.

Few things I've noticed off the bat, not having tried con yet; Light ballista is still unable to be made, addy gloves are still one def. Also granite body/legs are 1 def still, should be 50 as is on OSRS. 

I know you've put a ton of work into this whole update @Omicron Work on con first & focus on what's gonna effect the most people first then effect the small things like I mentioned. Besides that tho amazing update from what I've seen so far.

Heavy support. Also Ancient Wyvern Shield and Varrock Armour 4 (Gives same stat bonuses as addy platebody) are wieldable at 1 def, which shouldn't be the case.

And mith gloves are the highest wieldable gloves at 1 defense, with adamant gloves being unlocked at 13 due to the completion of nature spirit. Not a huge fix like the others but it would be more true to 07. @Omicron

I think a good idea for classics PVP wise would be maybe a monthly/biweekly contest, whoever has the most kills on other classics would win a prize or something. It'd have to be done with killpics being posted in a dedicated thread to the contest so people just can't kill their friends over and over and win it. With the 5X XP rates & all, it'd be dope to see people pking without optimal stats/gear, and would create more incentive for pures to go somewhere else beside edge since there'd be a flock of lower levels scattered throughout the wilderness during this.

As far as skilling events, I couldn't really think of anything off the top of my head.

Scummy thing to do, but if you really need the achievement; park a scout at chins, take TB & claw rush chinners, or barrage AGS maul combo them. It's a lame way to do it, yeah, but if you check every few hours & are quick to GTFO out of there via a glory tele out you'll have it in a day or two.

Edit: Or just pure pk, if you're decent it's not hard at all to get a 15 killstreak on pures. Plus we need more pures in the wildy.

I think rushing is bound to happen no matter what & often enough it would eat up a ton of staff time. I think a better way to handle it is if you're skulled, you have a 10 second timer out of combat to jump over ditch, but you can still tab out of a fight. That way sure, someone can rush, but if a team catches a full on said person and they're in max, GG to them. Half & half support, it shouldn't be bannable but something should be done about it, and if it's something that can better incentivize PKers I'm all for it.

Karambwans are almost essential for edge pking & as you said something small like this would influence people to PK since karambs would be more easily accessible. Plus if it's in OSRS, why not? Heavy support.

As we all know Obsidian armor was 1 defence for a good week or so when Inferno was released, allowing pures to use it. It's since been fixed but this isn't the only items that need fixing. 

Barrows Gloves (require 42 defence in quest exp to get in OSRS, from the current 40)

 

Rune Gloves (from 13 to 35 defence. I know you have to complete nature spirit + accept the Monkey Madness reward to get them)

 

Adamant gloves (1 to 13 defence)

 

Granite plate and legs, haven't checked helmet (1 to 50 defence)

 

Fremmenik helmet and shield, the ones dropped by DKs (1 to 30 defence)

Slayer Helmet and Slayer Helmet (i) (1 to 13 defence)

I'll add more if I come across them.
