Hello everyone,

Today’s update took longer than usual due to some content being very time consuming, but we’ve made sure to pack a ton of things into it!  The update brings some much needed PvP improvements and bug fixes, as well as some important performance/speed improvements as well as a ton of QOL features such as boss killtime announcements to show when records are broken, arrows above Theatre of Blood chests, and many more QOL/bug fixes.

Lastly, a brand new mini-game is now live! Do you have what it takes to be the Last Man Standing?
• Performance improvements for EU players:
• We’ve added a few new connection servers for European players, which should improve latency issues and make the game feel a bit smoother. The previous connection server for EU players was overloaded and not optimal for the smoothest gameplay.
• Additionally, a bug was sometimes selecting an entirely inconvenient server  (NA based) for EU players, causing increased latency. All EU players should see slight improvements in ping/lowered latency, which will hopefully help to improve delays felt in item switching, prayer toggling, in PvP situations and in general gameplay. Australia/Asia players may also see a slight improvement, though we do plan to improve connection speeds for Australian players even further in the near future.
• PLEASE NOTE: To fully take advantage of this, you will need to have the absolute latest client. If you login and you get a red message that says “Your client is outdated!”, you’re still using the same old (and probably slower) connection server.
• Last Man Standing:
• The Last Man Standing minigame is now available! Within this mini-game, you will spawn on an island with equal combat stats and no items or equipment except for a spear, and finding valuable items to fight for your life in hopes of becoming the Last Man Standing.
• Features:
• Players start with 99 in all combat stats regardless of your combat stats on Alora (you could be level 3). The only exception is your prayer points, which is reduced to 10.
• You’ll have to loot chests, cupboards and drawers around the island to find equipment and supplies.
• You can use the Vending shrines, which allow you to sell your items for survival tokens, and to buy certain items from.
• A dangerous fog will slowly start to surround the island, pushing you to a final location where the battle will end. If you are too deep in the fog, you will begin taking damage at 1 tick, but this will rapidly increase to 10 damage per tick if you do not run back into the safe zone.
• Defeating a player will earn you a bloody key, which can be used on a previously looted chest/draws/cupboards and still allow you to find loot. On top of this, using one of these keys will restore your hit points to 99.
• If you defeated one of the final few players (3-5 depending on how big the game is), you will receive a bloodier key. This key is the same as the bloody key, which also restores a bit of prayer, special attack energy, and is guaranteed to give food. Lastly, it also has an increased chance of giving a top tier special attack weapon, and is the only way to get Dragon claws on the island.
• Occasionally, you’ll receive a broadcast which tells you that a magical loot crate has spawned on the island, denoting its location.
• Dogs will spawn in certain areas on the island in groups of 3, and can be killed for a chance of receiving Sharks, Prayer potions and Super energy potions.
• Notes:
• This minigame can be played at any time with an entrance fee of 1M per player. This money is added to a pot which is divided between the last 2 players standing.
• 1st place will receive 65% of the pot
• 2nd place will receive 25% of the pot
• All prayers can be used regardless of whether you unlocked them, except redemption and protect item which cannot be used at all.
• You can teleport here by using the Mini-game menu on the Teleport interface, or by typing ::lms.
• Miscellaneous:
• Tournament cup updated with October’s EIM tournament.
• Veterans who are Ironmen or Classics will now also have their respective icon shown next to their yells / clan chat messages, etc.
• The “Hide all donator icons” button was missing from the settings tab, this has been re-added.
• The Birthday NPC / cake at home have been removed.
• Pet insurance fixes:
• Pet insurance will now work for pets which you have lost by accidentally doing ::empty.
• Fixed a bug which caused the Mini Vanguard to insure as an Olmlet even though you did not have the Olmlet pet (or metamorphic dust to turn Vanguard into one).
• NOTE: If you previously had this bug and your Pet insurance only shows Olmlet instead of Mini Vanguard (and you don’t own an Olmlet/Dust) then you may need to re-insure your pet!
• Grim reaper hood now hides your hair/face.
• Latest PvM cup winners added to the Tournament cup list.
• HCIM Death update:
• If an HCIM dies to a player or NPC, the news announcement will now also say which player or NPC they died to.
• Pre-update warning:
• We will now issue a notice approximately 20 minutes before an update, which will disable Raids, Last Man Standing and the Inferno so that players do not get halfway through a raid and then are forced to log off.
• If you are already in a Raid or any other one of these mini-games, you will be able to finish them within those 20 minutes.
• Slayer cancel QOL:
• You can now right-click the Slayer Master and select “Cancel-task” to quickly cancel your task without opening the interface at all. You will still be presented with a confirmation box to make sure you’d like to cancel your task, as well as the point cost (if applicable).
• Serpentine visage dismantling:
• You can now dismantle the Serpentine visage for 20,000 Zulrah scales. A warning will be shown before confirming.
• Alorian donator capes update:
• The teleport option on this cape will now ask you whether you’d like to teleport to the old Donator zone or the new one.
• Theatre of Blood changes:
• Chest arrow QOL + Animation/open chest:
• An arrow will now be shown above the chest that belongs to you in the reward area. This will make looting easier and not force you to click on every chest, and the player(s) with a purple chest will know immediately that it is theirs.
• Additionally, players will now play an animation upon “opening” the chest, and the chest will physically open rather than remaining static. This lets all the participants in the room know that their teammates have opened their chests and are ready to move on.
• Bug fixes:
• Scythe vitur stand animation fixed:
• The way that you hold the Scythe of vitur was previously too ‘angular’, and is now held more upright as it is in OSRS.
• Sotetseg’s special attack (red ball with shared damage) was able to be dodged sometimes, this can no longer be done.
• Combat fixes/changes:
• Venom has been added! (See below)
• Prayer drain had a bug which limited how many points you’d lose per tick. This has been matched to OSRS (tested).
• Prayer flicking is also more accurate to how it is on OSRS.
• Dragon claw special attack accuracy has been slightly boosted (~30%)
• Dragon spear special attack fix:
• Using this special attack on players that were frozen previously did not ‘push’ them as it is supposed to. This has been fixed.
• Red bar fix:
• Previously, any player with 3/99 HP or lower would be completely red barred (no green on their HP bar) making it difficult to know if you KO’d them. This has been fixed, and will reflect their health more accurately, showing a tiny bit of green even at 1/99 HP.
• This change will apply to both PvP and PvM, and will help to more accurately reflect the HP an enemy has remaining in all situations.
• We’ve also applied this fix to the enemy info box in the top left corner, so that HP bar will also no longer red-bar.
• Lastly, for this overlay, if you are fighting a player with more than 99 HP (juggernaut or using saradomin brew) the HP bar will not spill out of the black box and be longer than usual.
• Halberd attack speed (including Dragon and Crystal) was too fast, and has been slightly slowed down to match OSRS.
• Magic fixes:
• Delay fix:
• Some Magic spells were slightly delayed and not damaging other players quickly enough. We’ve removed this delay and attempted to match everything perfectly to OSRS. The damage (hitsplat) will show up at the same time as before, but the GFX / block animation / enemy retaliation will all happen sooner than before.
• Specific fixes:
• Bind/Snare/Entrangle/Freeze spell changes:
• Multi-spell fixes
• For multi-spells (eg. Barrage), the multi effects (AoE) will now be calculated earlier so that the players that were next to the target at the time of cast will be affected, but not the players that run in afterwards.
• Teleblock effect will now apply 1 tick (0.6s) earlier, giving targets less time to teleport away during the spell cast.
• Range/Melee changes:
• The defend animation will now show up earlier for melee/ranged attacks.
• Dark bow fix:
• The dark bow was firing 1 tick too quickly. This has been fixed, bringing the attack speed to 5.4 seconds, with the rapid mode bringing it down to 4.8 seconds.
• Additionally, the Dark bow’s special attack has been slightly tweaked. Previously, it guaranteed 8 damage on each hit (or 4 if the player was using Protect from Range). This is still applicable for Dragon arrows, but if you are using any other type of arrow, the damage is 5/3 rather than 8/4.
• Wilderness changes:
• Saradomin brews dropped in the wilderness will now be shown after 2x the regular amount of time it takes to show items (2 minutes rather than 1), rather than 10x previously (10 mins).
• Multi-zone lines fixed for a few areas (matched to OSRS):
• All of the affected areas are in level 39-46 wilderness:
• Areas that are now Multi:
• North of Black chinchompas
• An area north-east of the lava maze
• Areas that are now Singles:
• North of the lava maze, around the Rune ore mining area
• On the north side of the lava maze, but still within the maze, an area that was previously multi was incorrect.
• Revenant cave multi-zones fix:
• The entrances to the revenant caves (both north and south) have a few steps (~5 steps) that are non-multi within the cave, this has been fixed to match OSRS.
• A gate in level 42 wilderness (Near the ladder to go down to KBD) was occasionally bugged and has been fixed. (one side would open, and the other side would stay closed, example: https://i.imgur.com/0sN4QAN.png)
• This may inadvertently have fixed other bugged gates in the game, though this is the only one that was reported bugged at the moment.
• NPC aggressive distance (how close an NPC must be to you to be able to ‘notice’ and attack you) in the wilderness has been reduced, meaning you can walk a bit closer to NPCs without being targeted.
• Most NPC’s aggression distances were reduced by only 1 step, though some monsters, like bats, have been reduced by 2 steps.
• Resource area fixes:
• On logout, players will be placed outside the resource area.
• If attempting to go through the resource area gate while frozen, you would previously get bugged for a long time. This has been fixed, allowing to to enter while frozen (as long as you are right next to the gate).
• Royal seed pod added to PK Point Exchange:
• This pod will allow you to 1-click teleport to the Grand tree up to level 30 Wilderness. It can be used an unlimited number of times.
• Cost: 2,000 PK points.
• If lost upon death, it will be sent to the item reclaim shop and can be retrieved for 100,000 coins.
• Dragon hunter crossbow recolour:
• The base colours of the Dragon hunter crossbow have been updated to resemble the Great Olm, making it distinguishable from the Dragon crossbow.
• Agility QOL:
• You can now perform alchemy (and other spells, such as plank make) while running to your next Agility obstacle without cancelling your pending agility action.
• Boss Killtime Record Announcements:
• Players who beat the previously set Killtime records for Bosses and certain Minigames will now be announced on the yell channel!
• This includes time records for:
• All bosses
• Barrow
• Raids 1 & 2
• The Inferno
• Fight Caves
• Venom:
• Venom is now part of the Alora combat system! This is a very important change to note for both PvM and PvP.
• Venom is a stronger variant of poison, which, rather than decreasing in strength over time, increases in strength. It always starts at 6 damage, and increases by 2 damage every 18 seconds up to a max of 20 damage. It will not go away until it is cured, or until you or your enemy is dead.
• Curing:
• Drinking any dose of Anti-poison potion will convert the venom to poison. Then, drinking another sip will fully cure the poison.
• New potions, such as the Anti-venom potions can cure venom in one sip and provide some immunity (up to 3 minutes for Anti-venom+)
• Immunity:
• Wearing a Serpentine helmet will provide permanent immunity to Venom (and poison).
• Weapons that can inflict venom to players and monsters at a 25% chance:
• Weapons:
• Trident of the Swamp
• Toxic staff of the dead
• Toxic blowpipe
• Note:
• These weapons have a 100% chance to inflict venom on an NPC if also wearing the Serpentine helmet.
• Monsters that are immune to venom only (but can be inflicted with poison):
• Chaos Elemental, Dagannoth Prime, Dagannoth Rex, Dagannoth Supreme, Demonic gorilla, Giant Mole, Kalphite Queen, Kraken, Obor, TzTok-Jad, Vet'ion
• NOTE: All the monsters that are immune to poison (see below) cannot be envenomed either. The difference is that the list above can still be poisoned.
• Monsters that can inflict venom on you:
• Zulrah and its Snakelings
• Vorkath
• Poison changes:
• Poison will now hit players more rapidly, once every 18 seconds as it is in OSRS (decrementing by 1 damage every 4 hits).
• Previously, poison would only hit you once every minute (approximately)
• Many NPCs now immune to poison (matched to OSRS):
• By design, the following NPCs are also immune to Venom:
• Abyssal Sire, Brutal dragon, Cerberus, Commander Zilyana, Corporeal Beast, General Graardor, Glough, Juvinate, K’ril Tsutsaroth, Keef, Kob, Kree'arra, Kruk, Mithril dragon, Lizardman, Lizardman brute, Lizardman shaman, Great Olm, Scion, Snakeling, Spawn, Smoke devil, Thermonuclear smoke devil, Callisto, Venenatis, Vorkath, Zulrah
• New Potions and Resources (Related to Venom):
• Coconut milk:
• Use a Hammer on a Coconut to get two Coconut halves, then use the pieces on Vials of water to create Coconut milk.
• Antidote++
• Creation:
• Mix an Irit into a vial of coconut milk at 79 Herblore for 177.5 XP.
• On OSRS, Magic roots are also required to create this potion. Considering Venom is being added to the game quite late, we’re removing the requirement to mix Magic roots into the potion to speed up the amount of Antidote++ potions (and other potions below) being brought into the game.
• Effect:
• Cures poison and provides second longest immunity, at 12 minutes. You must drink two sips to cure venom, the second sip will cure poison. This potion is identical to the Superantipoison (which is already in-game) but provides 2x the poison immunity, and is used to create Anti-venom potions (below).
• Anti-venom:
• Creation:
• Mix Zulrah scales and Antidote++ at 87 Herblore for 30 XP per dose. (for 4 dose, 120 XP total)
• Five scales will create one dose, so 20 scales will be needed to create a four-dose Anti-venom.
• Effect:
• Cures venom and poison in one sip. 12 minutes immunity to poison, and one minute immunity to venom.
• Anti-venom+:
• Creation:
• Torstol + Anti-venom at 94 Herblore for 125 XP.
• Effect:
• Cures venom and poison in one sip. 15 minute immunity to poison, and 3 minute immunity to venom.
• Note:
• Takes 4 ticks to create one potion, unlike other potions which take two ticks.
• Sky color on OpenGL:
• The default sky colour on HD mode has been changed to look less bright and blue, and more realistic.

#228756 [28/10/18] Halloween Event, Alorian Capes, Donator toggles, Banking QOL &...

Posted by Omicron on 28 October 2018 - 01:46 AM

Hello everyone,

The long awaited Halloween update is finally here! Along with this, we’ve added a few other things you’ve requested, such as Donator icon toggles (both the ability to hide your own AND the ability to disable them entirely on your client), banking quantity buttons, mouse wheel zooming without holding CTRL, and even some new cool updates that we thought you’d enjoy such as some tasteful, cosmetic Donator capes to show off your rank and to quickly get to the Donator Zone.

Note: You must update to the latest client to play following this update, otherwise you may run into some issues. If you aren’t on the latest client, a warning message will be sent to you every time you login warning you that your client is not supported.

• Halloween event:
• This year’s, Eric’s determined to hold the spookiest halloween event for his niece and nephew. He won’t be ridiculed again, but he needs your help to organize it!
• Speak to Eric at home to be teleported to Port Sarim, where you’ll help him on his adventure this Halloween.
• Without saying too much, we’ll let you figure out the rest in-game, but we will mention that the rewards can be reclaimed from the lost items shop if lost.
• Alorian capes:
• A new set of capes can now be obtained!
• Donator capes:
• 4 new donator capes have been added, and as long as you meet the rank requirement, you can obtain these capes from the Donation manager and switch between the colors as you please.  These capes cost 500K gp, but once you buy one, you can swap through any color you have unlocked.
• Extreme
• Legendary
• Uber
• Master
• Notes:
• You can use the right-click ‘Teleport’ option to get to the Donator zone.
• You can use the ‘Switch-color’ option to swap between any of the cape colors that your rank allows you to have.
• If you lose or downgrade your donator rank, you will no longer be able to equip your cape.
• If lost on death, they can be reclaimed from the Lost items manager for 250k (half of the original price).
• Veteran cape:
• A sneak peak of the Veteran cape is included in the media below, which will be released on Alora’s 2nd birthday on November 4th. This cape is highly exclusive and is only available to players who have a join date of at least 2 years. On the date of release, only 1,325 accounts will be eligible. By New Years 2019, that number will have increased to a whopping 34,500 accounts. Keep an eye out for this cape on November 4th ;)
• Donator icon toggles:
• #1. Hiding your own icon from everyone:
• You are now able to hide your own icon if you do not want to show that your are a donator or simply hate the look of the $ symbol. This is togglable by speaking to the Donation manager at home, and can easily be turned on or off whenever you’d like.
• Notes:
• All donator benefits will still be active on your account, and you will still have access to the Donator zone!
• This will not hide your donator status. This cannot be hidden at the moment, and this toggle only applies to in-game areas. (chat, yells, clan chat messages, news messages, next to username in chatbox)
• For ironman, when using the yell channel, it will simply no longer show the color of your donator group, meaning it will use the default Classic/Ironman/etc color.
• #2. Hiding all icons on your client:
• You can now choose to hide everyone’s donator icons (including your own, if applicable) on Alora. This means that by toggling this setting, you will no longer see any donator icons ($ symbols) in all in-game areas. (chat, yells, clan chat messages, news messages, next to username in chatbox)
• Notes:
• This toggle was requested by numerous players as it will make your game look a little bit less like a private server, especially for youtube videos.
• The setting can be toggled by going to your settings tab, clicking the “Extra settings” button (wrench and hammer) and scrolling down to the bottom.
• Banking QOL update:
• You can now set a pre-defined amount to withdraw or deposit when banking!
• The buttons at the bottom of your bank can be toggled to allow you to deposit/withdraw 1, 5, 10, All or a pre-defined amount (X) when you are withdrawing or depositing items.
• This will be remembered the next time you open your bank, until you relog, at which point the amount is reset to the default (1).
• Mouse wheel zoom update:
• You can now use your mouse wheel to zoom in and out without holding the CTRL key. This can be toggled in your settings menu by clicking on the zoom button, and will save to your character on logout to remember your preference. By default, this option is disabled.
• Scrolling without holding CTRL will work anywhere as long as your mouse is not over a scrollable interface. (eg. Bank interface, chatbox, friends list, etc)
• New bonus rate: Clue scroll bonus
• Event managers can now set a bonus rate for Clue scrolls, giving you a better chance at receiving good loot from your caskets!
• This also applies to the Clue hunter rewards and makes them easier to obtain.
• This does NOT apply to obtaining clue scrolls from NPC loot, it only applies to the loot you get from opening your final casket from the clue.
• Client login fix:
• Many of you have likely experienced the login screen bug where you click “Login” and nothing happens, but if you click again it will log you in just fine. This has been fixed, and players should now be able to login normally on the first click.
• Additionally, this fixes another bug where you would connect to a login server that is not optimal for you (more latency), when your client should be prioritizing the lowest latency server.
• Forum profile command added:
• You can now type ::profile/;;profile in-game to pull up a user’s forum profile. For example, typing in ‘;;profile king purple’ will take you to @king purple ’s forum profile (https://www.alora.io/forums/user/158352-king-purple).
• This will quickly allow you to locate a user, whether online or offline, if you’d like to send them a message on the forums.
• Youtube shortcuts:
• ::yt can now be used instead of ::youtube to find someone’s stream
• ::lowkey and ::salter can now be used to link to @Lowkey and @Salter's streams.
• If anyone would like their own stream, and has proven that they stream consistently, send me a PM to add a link for yours.
• Client fix on Linux:
• Some users reported their middle mouse button not working on Linux based operating systems. Although untested, this should now be fixed.
• Reclaimable items update:
• The following items can now be reclaimed from the Lost items manager if lost on death:
• Imbued god capes (Saradomin, Guthix, Zamorak) - 500K GP
• Imbued max god capes (Saradomin, Guthix, Zamorak) - 600k GP
• Drop notifications:
• Similar to how you receive a purple message when you obtain a Money casket drop, a purple message will now be received when an NPC in the wilderness drops a Mysterious emblem or a Slayer enchantment.
• Soul rune crafting updates:
• Rather than 108 essence fragments, you can now hold up to 111 fragments in your inventory (accurate to OSRS). Realistically, with 27 in your inventory (minus one slot for a chisel), you’ll only need to hold 108 anyway in most cases.
• We’ve received positive feedback overall on the difficulty of Soul RCing, but many players believed that the experience rate should be more rewarding for an activity that is more difficult and click intensive than other types of Runecrafting. To address these concerns, we’ve increased the experience rate per rune to 59.4 experience (previously 29.7), doubling the XP/hr.
• Although this may seem like a big jump, it is still slower experience than crafting other runes (eg. Bloods).
• Veteran yell update:
• If a Veteran player who is also a donator yells in-game, the [Veteran] tag will now also have the donator icon of their rank next to it.
• If a Veteran donator speaks in the Clan channel, the donator icon will appear.
• If a Veteran donator receives a rare drop or any other type of news announcement, their donator rank will appear.
• Wilderness loot skull bonuses:
• PvP Armour drops:
• PvP armour drops are now up to 30% more common when red-skulled, and 15% more common when regular skulled.
• This applies to all wilderness monsters that drop these armours.
• All other revenant drops:
• Any revenant drop with a less than 1/100 rate will be 20% more common when red-skulled, and 10% more common when regular skulled.
• PvP Armour updates:
• Exchange prices (& protection value) of all of these items has been increased dramatically.
• This ensures that when dying in the wilderness with these items, they are protected over most other items of lesser value.
• The 20% nerf outside of the wilderness has been removed in certain areas, providing the full effect of these equipments.
• These areas include:
• FFA Clan wars
• Clan wars
• Battle Royale
• Basically, any PvP area has been included, except for the Duel Arena. All non-wildy PvM areas still nerf the bonuses by 20%.
• Special attack updates:
• Vesta’s spear will now make the user immune to any Melee attacks for 8 ticks (4.8 seconds) after using it. Additionally, the delay between using two Vesta’s spear specials in a row has been removed.
• If you use two in a row, you will not receive 16 ticks of immunity, though. It is a maximum of 8 ticks from the current time, meaning you will have to re-use the special attack after 5 seconds to get the full benefit of ~10 seconds of melee immunity.
• Dagannoth Rex update:
• Dagannoth Rex was not properly defending against Melee/Ranged attack styles, making him too easy to defeat. The following has been updated:
• He will no longer take any damage from Melee/Range attacks. Magic must be used to harm him.
• New tournament arena:
• As you may have noticed with last weekend’s EIM Tournament, we have added the DMM maps to use for future tournaments (and eventually actual DMM tournaments when we get there).
• Event managers can toggle between this area and the old tournament ring near the Grand Tree.
• Slayer tower bank chest upgrade:
• The bank chest at the top floor of the Slayer tower (before Grotesque guardians) can now be used to note/unnote items by using them on the chest. This will give some benefit to UIM who unlock the chest.
• Untradable reclaim update:
• The following items will now be sent to the Lost items manager on death if lost:
• Goldsmith gauntlets (250k GP buy back)
• Ice gloves (250k GP buy back)
• Combat changes:
• Mithril seeds will now move you 1 step even if you are frozen.
• Orb charging fixes:
• When charging certain orbs, you do not need runes if you are wearing the correct staff. This was slightly bugged, as it would not check for Battlestaffs, Mystic staffs and mixed rune (Eg. Steam) staffs. This is now fixed and should check all types of staffs.
• Miscellaneous:
• King kurask animations fixed.
• Barbarian assault icons reverted to being in the cape slot, as they were causing hands to be invisible.
• Deadman’s chest (plate body) will now be a full platebody, no longer showing the arms through the top.
• Essence blocks / Zulrah scales can no longer be ‘equipped’ from the equipment interface.
• A few of the Skeletal wyverns were constantly hitting 0s. Their attack bonuses and max hits have been fixed.
• Fixed a bug with insuring Vanguard pet through Probita.
• The Teleport wizard will now face any player that speaks to him, and not only change direction when teleporting someone.

#214659 Scheduled Maintenance (Planned Downtime on September 4th)

Posted by Omicron on 03 September 2018 - 01:03 PM

Hello everyone,

I’d like to inform you that Alora will soon be undergoing major backend changes and switching hosts to improve our uptime, latency, and DDoS protection. I’m sure some of you may have noticed random disconnections or increased latency periodically, and we’ve decided to address this while simultaneously changing the way that clients communicate with our servers to improve our defences against malicious attacks.

The server migration will take some time, and although we’re not 100% sure how long it will be offline for, we are estimating that the website and game will both likely be unavailable for 2-3 hours.

On the bright side, we’ve split the login servers up in multiple countries, and when you play you will be automatically routed through the closest one to you (with the lowest ping), which will reduce latency tremendously for our players who are in North America / Australia, and may also improve for some EU players depending on your location. We are also moving to a host with generally better connection speeds, uptime and less latency.

The downtime is scheduled to begin later tonight, September 4th at 12AM EST / 4AM server time.

Although the downtime is no fun, we assure you that we'll be working on getting things back and running as soon as possible!

We appreciate your patience :)

Best regards,
Omicron

#211902 [24/8/18] Major QOL/Bug fixes (+Red skull, Wine jugs, Chompy hats & more...

Posted by Omicron on 24 August 2018 - 07:16 AM

Hello everyone,

Today’s update consists of some general bug fixes and QOL that have been long overdue, as well a bit of new content to freshen things up! The next few weeks, we’ll also be pushing out more bug fixes by going through the suggestion list.

In other news…

While our priorities at the moment are to fix up the bugs and to get those QOL updates out, we’ll also be working on improving the client (adding new plugins), as well as exploring the possibility of a seasonal tournament system on Alora (similar to DMM) somewhere down the road. This sort of system would offer a cash reward for the winner, and would be run every few months. We’ll post more details soon with our ideas for it (and allow you to chip in with yours) once we’re closer to that being a reality :)

• Loyalty rewards: Chompy bird hats: (Thanks to @ Master Alora for the suggestion!)
• You can now purchase one of the 3 tiers of Chompy bird hats from the Loyalty point exchange!
• There are only 3 hats to purchase in the store, but purchasing any one of them will actually give you the entire set of chompy hats in that tier (6 different colors).
• The cost of each set is not cheap, though, coming in at:
• 100,000 points for Tier I
• 200,000 points for Tier II
• 400,000 points for Tier III
• These hats are not tradable. If lost on death, you can reclaim them from the Lost items manager for 100k, 200k or 400k gp per hat depending on the tier.
• Raids 1 changes (Chambers of Xeric):
• Balancing:
• Great Olm has been made ~33% less accurate, and it’s max hits on same attacks have been reduced by ~25%.
• Affected attacks:
• Crystals beneath feet
• General head attacks (projectiles)
• (Rock fall damage was nerfed 25% last update)
• Tekton’s accuracy and damage have both been nerfed by 25%.
• Bug fixes:
• A bug with Vasa Nistirio which caused him to null and the raid to be restarted should now be fixed.
• A bug which caused Vasa Nistirio to not launch his Rock attacks for awhile if you went through the raid quickly has now been fixed.
• It was possible for Vasa to use a final attack before dying (while it’s HP was 0). This should no longer occur.
• Raids 2 changes (Theatre of Blood):
• Bug fixes:
• The loot chest would only show 4 items, it will now be able to show up to 6.
• The loot chest would sometimes show air strike symbols on the interface, this should no longer occur. Additionally, some users have reported crashing after opening the chest and trying to close it, this should also no longer occur.
• The loot interface is also now more centered on the fixed screen mode.
• Fixed a bug with the Scythe of Vitur causing it to be able to murder pets (Sorry, little guys).
• Discord changes:
• Icon transparency:
• All of the activity icons (eg. Woodcutting icon) are now transparent (white background removed) to look more appealing.
• Visuals:
• The “Training Melee” activity will now have an Attack icon next to it.
• Being “In-game” without any other action will now show a smaller Alora logo as the activity icon (to differentiate from players who are at the welcome screen and not yet logged in)
• Bugs:
• Sometimes, the “Crafting” activity would appear even though you were not crafting. This has been fixed.
• Crafting will also be more specific, rather than just stating “Training Crafting” it will display details such as “Crafting Battlestaves”.
• Thieving icon was entirely missing and has been added.
• When training Slayer, it would frequently alternate between “Training Ranged” (or Melee/Mage) and “Training Slayer”. Slayer will now take precedence so that your status doesn’t update every second or two.
• Client crash fix:
• Some users’ clients were crashing immediately after launching (presumably only affecting Linux users at the moment). We’ve fixed this, you’ll need to restart your launcher (alora.jar) to get the latest version of the client which should not crash. The issue was due to the Discord library not being supported on your operating system, and the client not properly handling the exception. In this case, the client will function as normal without any Discord integration.
• Barrows reward updates:
• A previously requested feature, your barrows loot will now appear on an interface upon looting the chest!
• Additionally, your loot will be added to your inventory if possible, and if not, it will be dropped on the ground.
• Rather than a maximum of 4 times, you can now receive up to 7 rewards from the barrows chest. (Minimum 3)
• You can now receive Crystal key halves and/or coins (1-100k) from the chest.
• Lastly, the value of your chest will be displayed in a red chatbox message (Eg. “Your loot is worth approximately 2M gp!”).
• This is simply an estimate based on exchange prices and should be taken only as a reference.
• Rare drop yell removals:
• The following items will no longer appear over yell:
• Dragon 2h sword
• Ecumenical keys
• We debated removing the Ancient crystals as well, but decided against it to not reduce PvP activity.
• Revenant changes:
• Revenants will now drop up to 15 ether, rather than the previous maximum of 10.
• The minimum combat level required to enter the caves has been reduced from 50 to 40.
• Slayer update:
• When being assigned an Extreme Slayer task, you can now choose how many of the monster you’d like to be assigned.
• The minimum size of the task is 3, and the maximum is 35.
• PvP changes:
• Scoreboard:
• The top 30 PKers by killcount list was skipping over the #1 player, which is currently Diedosas. This has been fixed.
• Smite:
• Smite was previously not removing enough prayer points from the victim in certain cases, this has been fixed and matched to OSRS.
• Combat/PvP changes:
• Ranged weapon speeds:
• The Twisted bow’s “Rapid” mode was the same speed as the regular mode. It will now fire 1 tick faster while on Rapid.
• The Crystal bow overall (every combat style) was 1 tick too slow and will now fire more quickly.
• Magic weapon speeds:
• All magic spells have a delay of 5 ticks (3 seconds between each attack), but certain built-in spells fire more quickly and were not as fast as they should be. The following trident-based weapons will all now fire 1 tick more quickly (2.4 seconds) than regular Magic spells, matching OSRS and making Magic a more viable PvM method:
• Trident of the Seas (and (e) version)
• Trident of the Swamp (and (e) version)
• Dawnbringer
• Sanguinesti staff
• Note that the firing speed is *only* faster when using the built-in spells for these staffs, and that the normal spell delay and melee attack delay will apply if the built-in spell is not used!
• Scythe of Vitur fix:
• Although the Scythe’s multi-damaging effect only works in Multi-combat zones, the Scythe is supposed to hit larger creatures (Eg. Cerberus) up to 3x, even in non-multi zones. This has been fixed.
• Barrage gap:
• The barrage gap has been increased to the correct distance, meaning that your freezes should land if you are within distance of your opponent (and they are not immune to freezing after just having unfrozen, of course).
• Magic weapons with built-in spells not working in PvP:
• Previously, the Trident of the Swamp/Seas and the Sanguinesti staff could not be used in the wilderness at all. Now, they will still not allow you to attack with the built-in spell, but you can use it to manually cast other spells on players (eg. Using a Trident to cast Ice barrage).
• Red-skull command:
• You can now red-skull yourself, which means you cannot protect any items whatsoever. The protect item prayer will be disabled for those with a red skull, allowing high-risk fights to take place.
• Similar to the normal skull command, using the ::redskull or ::redskullme command will give you a red skull for 20 minutes. You can also speak to the Emblem trader to be red-skulled.
• Protect item will be disabled, and if you already have it enabled upon typing the command, it will be turned off.
• Notes:
• You cannot remove the skull until the timer is up, unless you die.
• A warning will be given to confirm that you want a red skull to ensure that you know what it means.
• NPC aggressive distance for most NPCs has been slightly reduced (from 4 steps to 3) within the wilderness.
• Ring of suffering effects:
• You can now use a Ring of recoil (noted or unnoted) on your Ring of suffering to charge it, imbuing it with the same recoil properties!
• A maximum of 100,000 charges, equivalent to 2,500 rings (40 charges each), can be stored.
• Keep in mind that these recoils/charges cannot be removed from the ring.
• The effect is toggle-able, so if you are training combat and do not want to waste charges, you can disable it.
• Charges are not lost upon death.
• Bracelet of Ethereum updates:
• You can now uncharge your bracelets for 250 ether each.
• Simply right-click and use the “uncharge” option.
• Bracelets can now be toggled to auto-loot ether from your slain revenants.
• You can enable this option (disabled by default) by right-clicking your bracelet and selecting “Toggle-absorption”.
• Note that this will only auto-loot ether dropped by a monster that you have defeated, and not someone else’s ether that may be laying on the ground.
• Looting bag “open” option:
• You can now “open” your looting bag to auto-loot any items that you pickup in the wilderness!
• This option will save you time when PvMing (or PvPing), and can be toggled by right-clicking the Looting bag and selecting the “Settings” option
• You can “close” your looting bag with the same right-click option, though it is closed by default.
• Keep in mind that this only works for items that are tradable and picked up within the wilderness.
• Vorkath fixes:
• Attack adjustments (previously inaccurate to OSRS):
• All 3 Dragonfire attacks (purple, green and red) can now be fully defended against (deal 0 damage) if you are using a Super anti fire and an Anti-dragon shield (or Dragonfire ward/Dragonfire shield). Using lesser protection, such as a regular Antifire potion, or having no dragonfire-protection shield will lead to varying and higher amounts of damage.
• The white dragonfire attack, which summons the Zombified spawn, will no longer deal any damage to you. It is simply a summon animation/projectile.
• The dodgeable dragonfire attack’s max hit has been increased from 99 to 115 if not dodged.
• Protect from Magic will now completely negate any damage from the Magic attack (blue projectile).
• Jugs:
• Empty jugs can now be purchased from the Supply shop (Or the Ironman/Classic supply store).
• You can now fill jugs of water by using them on any water source.
• Jugs of Wine:
• Jugs of wine can now be created by using grapes on a Jug of water!
• It requires level 35 Cooking, and will grant 300 Cooking experience.
• You can drink Jugs of wine to restore 11 hitpoints.
• Miscellaneous:
• Client optimizations:
• We’ve compressed the size of the client (and dependancies) that is required every time there is an update which should make the downloads significantly faster.
• Removed an unnecessary login message that would display for Elite Ironmen.
• On rare drop announcements, the kill # would always be one too high. For example, if you get a rare drop on kill #50, the announcement would say 51. This has been fixed.
• Fixed broken yell/clan chat for Official Graphics designer rank.
• Attempting to add feathers to dart tips will no longer work if you don’t have any free inventory spaces.

• Website:
• Vote script bug:
• A bug which occasionally gave duplicate auths for voting has been patched.

#155775 How to get HD (OpenGL) working on Mac OSX High Sierra / Mojave

Posted by Omicron on 26 January 2018 - 06:06 AM

How to get HD (OpenGL) working on Mac OSX High Sierra / Mojave

Note: This solution still works on OSX Mojave 10.14, tested October 2018.

Hey guys,

So after recently upgrading my Mac from Sierra to High Sierra, I noticed that HD was broken. I tried re-installing Java 1.6 as outlined in my other tutorial, but I had no luck getting HD to work again.

I decided to dig deeper into this to figure out what the problem was, and although there was no easy way to get it working again, I’ve found a solution that some of you may find useful. It comes down to moving a few files into the correct directory (as the location has changed in Mac OSX but we need them in the old location). This will work for High Sierra and presumably any future releases.

NOTE: This is ONLY for users of High Sierra. If you are on Sierra or a previous version of OSX, your HD should work fine without this tutorial!

IMPORTANT: Firstly, make sure that you follow the Java 1.6 tutorial found here:

http://www.alora.io/forums/topic/15711-how-to-get-hd-working-on-mac-osx/

Step 1: Disabling System Integrity Protection (SIP) and allowing hidden files to be seen

Once Java 1.6 is installed, we’re going to have to turn off “System Integrity Protection” (SIP) on our system as we’ll need to have more access to it.

Here’s how you can do this:

Follow these steps to disable SIP:

• Restart your Mac.
• Before OS X starts up, hold down Command(⌘)-R and keep it held down until you see an Apple icon and a progress bar. Release. This boots you into Recovery.
• From the Utilities menu, select Terminal.
• At the prompt type exactly the following and then press Return: csrutil disable
• Terminal should display a message that SIP was disabled.
• We’ll also need to run another command to be able to view hidden files. Enter the following and then press Return: defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles YES
• From the  menu, select Restart.

rootless_launch_recovery_terminal-100617
rootless_terminal_command_recovery-10061

At this point, your Mac should be loaded up and your “SIP” disabled, as well as hidden files now being visible. As I mentioned earlier, we need to copy and paste some files from one directory into another.

First, we’ll find the files and copy them…

Step 2: Moving the necessary files to the correct location

• Open up Finder, and on the top bar (very top of the screen) you can click Go -> Go to Folder… (or use the Command(⌘)-Shift-G shortcut) and then type in “/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/1.6.0.jdk/Contents/Libraries“. This will take us to the folder where we need to copy files from.
• Once you are in the Java libraries folder, you’ll see a bunch of files. What you want to do now is copy all of them (Command(⌘)-A and then Command(⌘)-C).
• Optionally, you can copy and paste these into a folder on your desktop to make sure you don’t need to come back here.
• Now that those files are copied, we’ll need to go to the second location where we want to paste the files. In Finder again, on the top bar (very top of the screen) you can click Go -> Go to Folder… (or use the Command(⌘)-Shift-G shortcut) and then type in “/System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/“.
• Once you are in this folder, you’ll need to right-click and select the “New Folder” option. Name this folder “Libraries” (case sensitive!).
• Enter the newly created “Libraries” directory, and then paste your copied files into it (You can use Command(⌘)-V to paste them in).
• Almost done! Alora should now be able to run in HD. Read on for Step 3 to make sure we re-enable your SIP as this is crucial for your Mac’s protection.

Step 3: Re-enabling System Integrity Protection (SIP) and (optionally) re-hiding hidden files

Note: Please do not overlook this step. It is a hassle rebooting again, but you MUST re-enable your System Integrity Protection (SIP). You just need to follow Step 1 with slight changes:

• Restart your Mac.
• Before OS X starts up, hold down Command(⌘)-R and keep it held down until you see an Apple icon and a progress bar. Release. This boots you into Recovery.
• From the Utilities menu, select Terminal.
• At the prompt type exactly the following and then press Return: csrutil enable
• Terminal should display a message that SIP was enabled.
• OPTIONAL: We can also run the other command to hide “hidden” files again. This isn’t necessary, and I personally keep my hidden files all visible, but if you’d like them to be hidden then you can enter the following and then press Return: defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles NO
• From the  menu, select Restart.

That’s all! Your computer is secure once again, and you should now be able to run HD on High Sierra!

If anyone finds this too technical for them or they do not want to take any chances, send me a PM and I would be glad to hop on TeamViewer to help you out where I can. Of course, you will need to do Step 1 yourself as it requires rebooting your Mac and I cannot stay on TeamViewer for that portion.

Enjoy  :)

Omicron

#207646 [7/8/18] Revenant weapons, Raid 1&2 changes, Discord integration, bug fix...

Posted by Omicron on 07 August 2018 - 02:26 AM

Hotfixes (August 7):

• Craw’s bow attack speed fixed to be as it should on OSRS (same speed as MSB)
• Fixed Theatre of Blood crash at Verzik
• Lowered Revenant weapon drop rates (a second time)
• Twisted bow nerf changed:
• The nerf has now been reduced to 50% of what it was initially, and no longer applies at all to enemies fought within Raids 1 (Chambers of Xeric)

Hello everyone,

I apologize for the delay in getting this update out, after the Theatre of Blood release (and subsequent hot fixes) I took a bit of a break. Thankfully, I’ve managed to squeeze in a fair amount of content, QOL and bug fixes since then for everyone to enjoy and to make up for the wait! The Revenant weapons are now available for those who are brave enough to venture into the Wilderness to claim them…

The next update or two will very likely be focused on bug fixes and QOL as well, though we will try to implement content from any OSRS updates (if at all) as usual. After that, we’ve got some big things that are cooking up with Alora that we’re sure you’re love. Keep your eye out for more information soon ;)

Updates:

• Revenant weapons:
• The Revenant drop tables have been updated with brand new weaponry and equipment! All of the Revenants now have a chance to drop the following:
• Amulet of Avarice
• This amulet will cause all drops within the Revenant caves to be noted. This includes non-revenant NPCs as well! The caveat is that the amulet will cause you to be skulled at all times. If you choose to un-equip the amulet, your skull will fade after 20 minutes.
• Craw’s bow
• This two-handed bow requiring 60 Ranged, when charged with ether, will deal an extra 50% accuracy and damage against any enemy in the Wilderness. It will consume 1 ether per shot, but does not need ammunition (similar to the Crystal bow).
• Viggora’s chainmace
• The one-handed Chainmace has similar bonuses to the Dragon scimitar, but offers 50% extra Melee accuracy and damage against any enemy in the Wilderness.
• Stackable with Slayer helmet / Salve amulet effects.
• Thammaron’s Sceptre
• This one-handed sceptre has similar bonuses to the Master wand, but will deal 100% more magic accuracy and 25% more damage to any enemies in the Wilderness.
• Notes for all weapons:
• Stackable with Slayer helmet / Salve amulet effects.
• Will consume 1 ether per attack.
• Ether charged inside the weapon will be dropped on death.
• Wilderness boss changes:
• Combat changes:
• Scorpia’s Melee and Ranged defence has been increased, while its Magic defence has been lowered.
• Callisto’s ranged defence has been buffed.
• Drop table boosts:
• Chaos elemental:
• Rune scimitar and Rune Sq. Shield added to droppable
• Wine of Zamorak will now be dropped commonly (5-10, noted)
• Chaos fanatic:
• Wine of Zamorak maximum drop is now up to 20 (rather than 10)
• Pure essence maximum drop is now up to 500 (rather than 250)
• Scorpia’s uncut gem drops can now drop up to 2x as many.
• Crazy archaeologist can now drop up to 2x as many Uncut gems and dragonhide, and can now drop between 100-250 Soul runes.
• Tournament cup:
• Winners of our more notable events (such as the PvP cup / PvM cup) will now be added to the Tournament cup which can be found at home! The winners of the June and July cups have been added to this list, and it will continue to be updated.
• Rare drop announcement update:
• Rare drop announcements will now show the # of kills / completions where applicable.
• For example:
• Old:
• “Omicron received 1 x Abyssal whip as a drop!”
• New:
• “Omicron received 1 x Abyssal whip as a drop! (Kill #33)”
• This applies to:
• Rare drops (including boss pets)
• Raids 1 & 2 loot
• Inferno completions
• Raids 1 - Chambers of Xeric:
• When receiving a rare drop, instead of the announcement saying “Omicron received a Twisted bow as a Raids reward!” it will say “Omicron received a Twisted bow as a Chambers of Xeric reward!”
• Olm changes:
• The falling rocks will now deal less damage (max hit of 33 rather than 45)
• Using Magic against Olm’s Right Claw will now be more accurate.
• Tekton changes:
• Tekton’s defence has been reduced overall.
• Raids 2 - Theatre of Blood:
• Milestone capes:
• ToB milestone capes are now available! Speak to Harpert near the Theatre, right next to the Vote booth by the bank. He will award you with capes at the following milestones:
• Sinhaza shroud tier 1 - 100 completions
• Sinhaza shroud tier 2 - 500 completions
• Sinhaza shroud tier 3 - 1,000 completions
• Sinhaza shroud tier 4 - 1,500 completions
• Sinhaza shroud tier 5 - 2,000 completions
• Room changes:
• Sotetseg:
• The dark beast boss could be “safespotted” in a way where you would stand under him and flinch hit him. This has been patched, and he is able to attack you regardless of whether you are under him or not.
• The big red ball (that hits up to 115 and must be split between players) had a bug which caused it to not deal any damage sometimes. This has been fixed.
• The main attacks that bounce between players have been slightly slowed down.
• The time that your prayers are disabled for having the incorrect protection prayer up has been reduced from 5 seconds to 3 seconds.
• Verzik Vitur:
• When using the Dawnbringer, the player who had it would get the most damage points for this part of the fight (and therefore a better chance at loot). The Dawnbringer will now split the damage points among every player who is alive during the battle, equally, to make it more fair.
• Nylocas spawns:
• Solo update:
• When fighting the boss as a solo player, the special attack with 4 Nylocas spawns that explode was far too difficult. This has been nerfed to 2 spawns for Solo players only (or a team with all players dead except 1).
• Bug fix:
• Sometimes, after the “explode” animation on the Nylocas, they would still damage you if you did not appear to be next to them. This is due to the fact that the animation would delay their movement, so it would appear as if they were frozen at that spot that they exploded, but in fact they continued to move towards you. This has been fixed, and they will stop moving upon explosion.
• Loot changes:
• The chance of obtaining rare loot has been slightly boosted for any team of any size.
• The chance of obtaining rare loot has also been boosted a bit more for solo players, due to the difficulty of completing a solo raid.
• The following loot will now appear more commonly:
• Avernic hilt
• Justiciar armour
• Any other loot has the same rate as before, aside from the overall loot boost that has been applied.
• Weapon changes:
• Considering the Twisted bow has a damage boost within both raids (it is less powerful outside of raids for balance purposes), it only makes sense that the new Theatre of Blood weapons also have a boost within raids (and only within raids!) to balance them against the bow.
• The Ghrazi Rapier, Scythe of Vitur and Sanguinesti staff have all received slight damage and accuracy boosts within raids (both raids 1 & 2). They have been untouched in terms of accuracy and damage outside of raids, though.
• Scythe of Vitur fix:
• Now properly hits nearest 2 other npcs (in a 180 degree arc, with your main target being in the centre at the 90 degree mark).
• Damage is unchanged as it has the same bonuses, max hit and special function as OSRS.
• The attack animation for the Scythe has been updated to the same one from OSRS.
• The graphics (red swipe effect) will now look smoother (100% to OSRS, changes depending on direction you are facing)
• Other:
• Miscellaneous performance improvements.
• Boss HP bar / orb changes: (Will require a client restart/update)
• HP bar has been shortened slightly.
• The percentage text on the HP bar of the boss would sometimes glitch and not be in the right position. This has been fixed.
• Fixed the health orbs for your teammates. They will now show the amount of hitpoints your or your teammates have lost.
• Daily tasks:
• Fixed the “Win 3 duels” task not working (would credit the loser).
• Fixed the “Mix 10 Anti-fire potions) task not working.
• Combat:
• Ruby bolts can now hit over 100 against juggernauts (Staff with 50,000 HP) to make events go more quickly.
• Twisted bow changes:
• The Twisted bow was sometimes too powerful against enemies with a high Range defence bonus, for example, the Pestilent Bloat. Ranged defence will now have a heightened resistance to the Twisted bow’s damage and accuracy bonuses. The overall effects on most enemies will not have changed, or only slightly changed, especially those with no ranged defence.
• Grotesque Guardians nerf:
• The hitpoints of Dawn and Dusk have both been reduced from 600 to 450 hp following an OSRS update.
• Miscellaneous:
• Chicken is now in the shield slot rather than the weapon slot.
• Client launcher will now contain the Alora dock icon on OSX.
• Some vote booths (near banks) were not working, for example the one near the Theatre of Blood. These have been fixed.
• Dying with a Herb sack / Seed box will now send a red message stating that the contents of your sack / box have been lost.
• Previously, a raw Karambwanji could be cooked, which would then turn into a Karambwanji which healed 3 hitpoints. This item was removed in OSRS< causing it to be a “null” item on Alora. This has been entirely removed, and Karambwanji can no longer be cooked, only used as bait for Karambwan.

• Discord updates:
• The discord icon for the server has been updated to look more professional and uniform with Alora’s theme.
• Discord Rich Presence:
• Discord will now be able to identify what you are doing on Alora! If you are in a raid, you’ll be able to let everyone know, and they’ll know how long you’ve been raiding for.
• Activities included:
• Raids (both Chambers of Xeric and Theatre of Blood)
• Pest control, Duel arena, Clan Wars, Battle Royale, Barrows, Fight caves and The Inferno (including the wave you are on).
• Skilling (any skilling activities provided you are not in a raid or mini-game)

#64515 [3/25/17] Client customization, Loyalty points, Completionist item, Spring sa...

Posted by Omicron on 25 March 2017 - 02:48 AM

Hello everyone,

This batch includes a wide range of different updates, ranging from bug fixes (which we'll have many more of in the upcoming update) to things like the Loyalty point system and the ability to customize your client! Hopefully everyone finds something to enjoy in this update. We've also added a temporary Completionist item until OSRS adds an actual cape - the Completionist Monkey, which uses the Monkey "cape" from MM2, except we've modified its stats to be superior to the Max cape! Of course, we could not push that feature out without first having fixed all of the bugged achievements that were reported.

[Hot fixes - 3/27/2017]
• Loyalty shop item prices increased
• Loyalty points are given for doing literally any activity in-game, and it seemed that it was too easy to obtain them and buy items. We'd like to see the shop items a bit more rare in-game.
• PKP Shop has been disabled for all ironmen
• Ironmen don't really have any incentive to PK, and the PKP were supposed to give them just that, but it seems that it is more often abused. A major factor in this update is that HCIM is an upcoming update which we're preparing for, and want to give it some more difficulty.
• Diagonal combat fixed for NPCs:
• Broke this last update, it is now fixed.
• Recipe for disaster chest fixed
• You can now use the "Buy-gloves" option.
• Ironman PVP achievement exceptions:
• As an ironman, you can now speak to Paul at home to auto-complete the following achievements:
• Heat of the moment (kill 2 players in 1 minute)
• Mysterious (reach 5000 PKP)
• Slaughterhouse (kill 50 players)
• On a Roll (reach a 5 player killstreak)
• The Bounty hunter (kill 10 bounty targets)
• Rolling stone (reach a 15 player killstreak)
• Ruthless (kill 5 players)
• We don't expect Ironmen to PK without any reward, so we have made the Achievement cape (and Completionist) a more realistic task.
• Miscellaneous:
• When you buy any cape from Mac(Achievement, Music, etc) a visual bug would cause it to not appear in your inventory until you dropped an item or banked.
• Clue bottle drops would say "You have received a bird's nest!" in your chatbox. This has been fixed.
• Login message showing the amount of time you have left of bonus XP has been changed from light blue to a darker "runite" blue.

[Updates]

• Battle Royale fixes:
• Many misc. bug-fixes
• If a player's skull runs out inside of a dangerous battle, it will re-skull them
• Items lost on death will now last 30 minutes on the floor
• If a player dies with untradable items in a dangerous battle, they will go to the lost items shop.
• If it cannot go to the lost items shop, it will add it back to their inventory instead.
• Multi/single combat option added for administrators to choose when hosting the event
• Interface is now centered:
• Previously, the interface was in the top right corner which overlapped with the XP counter. The center is more clean and unused by widgets.
• It will also remain centered on resizable mode.

[*]Loyalty Points:

• You can receive loyalty points simply for being logged in and active in-game!
• Between 4-16 loyalty points per minute
• This rate depends on the type of activity you are doing in-game.
• Being entirely AFK will not earn you any points.
• Skilling actions, combat, and numerous other actions make your points per minute go up.
• For all your fashionscape needs:
• The Loyalty point shop has been added with many, many cosmetic goods to satisfy your hunger for fashion!
• A huge collection of items which have not yet been seen in Alora are now available.
• Example items you can purchase:
• Castle wars equipment sets:
• Red, white and gold sets -- 5, 20 and 30 defence required, respectively.
• Ranged set - 30 Ranged required
• Magic set - 20 Magic required
• Tribal/villager robes
• Tribal mask
• Fishbowl helmet / Diver's apparatus
• Camel mask
• Red/purple menaphite robes
• All satchels, slave robes, skirts, and more!

[*]The # of Loyalty points you have accumulated can now be viewed in the Quest tab.
[*]Bonus Loyalty points: Donate any amount over 2.5m to the Well of goodwill, and you will get 1.5x Loyalty points once the well is activated!

• This should provide more incentive to players who donate to the well.
[*]Platinum tokens:

• You can now use platinum tokens to store your wealth!
• These are always worth 1,000 GP each and can be swapped at any Bank booth in Alora.
• Simply use your platinum or coins on a bank booth, and an input box will open to allow you to transfer the amount you'd like to swap.
• Notes:
• You can not use platinum to purchase items from stores/TP/etc.
• You can not sell your platinum on the TP either (to prevent confusion), although it is tradable.
• If you already have a high amount of GP in your inventory and are looking to swap your platinum for more, it will only give you as much as you can hold before reaching the 2.147b limit.

[*]Item sets:

• Exchanging your items into sets (and vice versa) is now possible!
• Simply use any item in a set (while having all components in inventory) on the Trading post object.
• If you'd like to change it back from a set into its component pieces, use the set on the Trading post object.

[*]Available sets:

• All barrows sets
• Gilded(legs) and Gilded(skirt)
• Partyhat set
• H'ween mask set
[*]Client customization update:

• The following settings are now available for customization!
• New hitpoints bars (~2009+ era)
• 10x hitpoints option
• New right-click menu (~2009+ era)
• New hitmarkers (~2009+ era)
• Animation tweening (smoother animations)
• Game timers:
• Disable visual timers for things like Well of goodwill, Vengeance, freeze timers, etc.
• New mouse cursors:
• Mouse cursors will update based on the action you are hovering, for actions like "eat", "bury", "pray-at", "chop-down", etc.
• These settings save on the computer, not the player. Any accounts you log into from a certain computer will use the same options.

[*]Maximum click distance for objects increased by 50%:

• Previously, you were limited to objects that were 16 squares away. This has been increased to 24.
• This should fix certain actions such as clicking the blood altar from the location you are teleported to

[*]Achievement fixes:

• Karambwhat fixed:
• Now works as intended --> You must fish 1000 Karambwan.
• Voter fixed:
• Was not increasing your achievement until you voted at least 10 times for some reason, has been fixed.
• Chinchomper:
• 1/7 --> 1/1000 as intended
• Slaughterhouse fixed:
• Would only count kills IF you already had 50, so you'd have to actually kill 100 players instead of 50. This has been fixed.
• Mysterious:
• You can now complete this as soon as you reach 5,000 PKP on your account.
• *Even if you had all achievements completed, it was still impossible to get the Achievement cape. This has been fixed.
• Note: Many ironman think they cannot complete "High stakes" because they can't stake 50m in the duel arena.
• This is incorrect, as long as you duel someone once (no need to stake) it will complete this achievement for you.

[*]Completionist Monkey is now available!

• Considering OSRS has yet to add a completionist cape, we've decided to add our own sign of accomplishment for players who have progressed further than most in-game.
• In the future, if OSRS does add a completionist cape, we will of course change this feature.
• The Completionist Monkey requires:
• Meet all of the requirements for the Max cape
• Meet all of the requirements for the Music cape
• Meet all of the requirements for the Achievement cape
• Have at least 3 skills which have reached 200m experience, with a maximum of 1 in a combat skill.
• Have at least 1b total experience
• Costs 10m gp to purchase (1m to reclaim if you die with it)
• The Completionist Monkey provides:
• The best bonuses out of any cape in the game at the moment. Essentially, you can think of it as a combination of all of the different "trimmed" max capes. For example, the Fire Max cape provides +11 to all defence bonuses which is higher than any other Max cape, and this is exactly what the Completionist monkey provides, yet Fire Max cape only provides +1 Magic attack whereas the Saradomin max cape provides +10 -- the Monkey will take the best of all the capes and provide the +10 to Magic attack as well.
• +6 Stab | +1 Slash | +1 Crush | +10 Magic | +4 Ranged ||| +11 All defense bonuses ||| +4 Strength | +6 Prayer
• Ava's accumulator effects
• Ardougne cape thieving bonus XP effect
• (and, of course, bragging rights!)
• You can speak to Mac to purchase this cape.

[*]Removing vials when finishing a potion:

• The option to keep/delete empty vials upon finishing your potions has been added!
• Speak to the Emblem trader at home to toggle this setting.
• This toggle does not apply to Gourd vials within the Raids dungeon.

[*]Raid fixes:

• Tekton is now attackable at all times
• Previously, a bug would prevent some players from being able to attack Tekton after he stopped hammering his anvil.

[*]Ironman de-iron changes:

• Previously, ironman who de-ironed were always announced to the world.
• This has been changed to only players who:
• Have an account older than 1 hour (and paid the fee to de-iron)
• Have at least 1,000 total level
• Other players can still de-iron of course, but will not be announced globally.
• If a UIM de-irons, it will now set them to the normal ironman rank first, rather than setting them to player status.
• This means that they would have to de-iron twice to become a normal player, but they can now simply remove their "Ultimate" status only.
• The cost to remove your Ultimate status is 5m, and the cost to become a regular player thereafter is the same as before, 10m.
• This will cost you 15m to go from Ultimate --> Normal player
• The message sent to all other players is a bit different if an Ultimate ironman de-irons to provide clarity:
• has given up being Ultimate, and is now a normal Ironman.

[*]Miscellaneous:

• Fixed Karamja -> Small lava cave -> Tzhaar object entrances, both ways
• ::yell will now show you how many seconds remain until you can yell again.
• Remember that you can use the Page-up button on your keyboard's number pad to re-enter your previous messages!
• Vote bonus XP timer has been fixed:
• It used to be a few minutes off when it gave you the "You have X minutes of bonus XP left." message, although the timer itself was correct.
• Boss killcount/killtime records are now seperated by dotted lines between npcs for those that have multiple entries. (eg. Raids records)
• Poison will no longer stack damage while resting, as you will stop resting if you are hit with poison damage (as you do with combat damage)
• RFD chest fixed for item on object noting/unnoting.
• Item fixes:
• Added Ale of the gods effect (unobtainable at the moment)
• Mummy armour is now equippable (unobtainable)
• ::event area is now a multi-combat zone.

[*]Bank fixes:

• Bank withdrawal fix:
• Many players have complained that if they spam click the items in their bank to withdraw them, it will sometimes withdraw them from a different tab.
• This has been fixed, and should work as intended.

[*]Deposit equipment fix:

• Previously, depositing your equipment would insert them into the main tab, instead of the tab you are currently viewing.
• This has been fixed so that they will also go into your current tab as long as the item stack doesn't exist in another tab.
[*]Client updates:

• Fog changes:
• The intensity and color of the fog on OpenGL HD has been adjusted.
• Brownish -> Light blue
[*]::twitch / ::hitbox commands added

[*]Shop updates:

• The shop has not been updated in awhile, so we figured we'd give it some well deserved updates!
• Super mystery box is now available!
• A similar item to the regular mystery box, but with a different set of items, and significantly less junk at a higher cost.
• It also includes a considerably higher chance to obtain rare items, as well as some new items that are not available in the regular mystery box.
• Many new items have been added, among them being the Sled & Partyhat with specs, which are exclusive to this box!
• The Black partyhat is also now exclusive to this box.
• Some raids items are also within the box, although we've excluded the rarest ones (Eg. Twisted bow, olmlet)

[*]Spring sale:

• To celebrate the start of spring, we've launched a sale which includes the new Super mystery boxes among other items!
• Bounty tele scroll (150 -> 80 tokens)
• Super mystery box (120 -> 100 tokens)
• Dharok's set (75 -> 50 tokens)
• Dragon warhammer (600 -> 500 tokens)
• Super combat potions (30 -> 25 tokens)

[*]Item changes:

• Removals:
• Antipanties have been removed.
• Onyx bolts have been removed.
• Zamorak/Bandos godswords have been removed.
• Dragon harpoon has been removed.
• All 3rd age sets have been removed.
• Price changes:
• Saradomin sword has been reduced from 90 -> 45 tokens
• Mage's book has been reduced from 40 -> 25 tokens
• Master wand has been reduced from 45 -> 35 tokens
• Dark bow has been reduced from 60 -> 30 tokens
• Armadyl godsword / Saradomin godsword have been reduced by 50 tokens each
• Seer's ring (i) has been reduced from 50 -> 40 tokens
• Warrior's ring (i) has been reduced from 50 -> 30 tokens
• Misc:
• Staff of the dead has been replaced by the Toxic staff of the dead.
[*]Staff updates:

• The "shift-click" teleport can now be used by administrators to move around more easily.
• The ::tele command is also accessible for exact coordinates.
• Timed punishments can now be handed out for hours.
• Previously, only days could be given out.
• The following punishments can now be handed out in hours:
• ban, macban, ipban, mute, ipmute, jail*(previously could not be timed at all)
• Changes to the Jail system:
• Previously, ::jail commands would be permanent until ::unjail and could not be timed.
• This was causing issues for moderators wanting to jail people for a few hours, as they had to remember exactly who they jailed and what time they should be unjailed at.
• We've changed the system a bit so that a player can be unjailed automatically by the server.
• If the player is logged out during their unjail time, it will simply unjail them on there next login.
• These punishments will save through server restarts as with other punishments and should require no staff involvement.
• The jail times can be handed out for hours or days as with other punishments.
• Previously, players could only be jailed while online.
• Players can now be jailed while offline.
• Punishments updates:
• Macban/IPban will now also ban the player by default, as well as their mac or IP.
• The default ban will be for the same time as the mac/ip ban.
• IPMute will now also mute the player by default, as well as their IP.
• The default mute will be for the same time as the ip mute.
• Support updates:
• ::tempmute command has been added for Server support to temporarily mute a player for 1 hour.

[*]Staff control panel has been renovated (currently available only to admins until all bugs are fixed!):

• As our old Staff CP was a bit clunky and outdated, we've decided to give it a makeover to make it easier for staff to view logs and other stats/info.
• A few cool features:
• Playercount graph -- server now updates the PC every ~10 minutes when online
• "Relations" function to easily link players to any other accounts from the same IP/Mac
• A new, sleek theme
• The ability to view logs as far as they go back, up until the first day of server release
• A chat/note box on the dashboard for staff to conversate
[*][Wilderness/Combat related updates]

• Combat fixes:
• Barrage orb fixed -- shows a block of ice on a refreeze/fresh freeze, and an orb if already frozen.
• Special attack animation playing twice:
• Sometimes when using certain special attacks, the animation would go off twice.
• Items affected: All godswords, saradomin sword and barrelchest anchor.

[*]Dragon scimitar special attack will now only turn off protection prayers if the damage is greater than 0
[*]Dragon spear special attack has been fixed:

• It is now possible to stack the Dragon spear special attack (indefinitely) without having the target "unstunned" after a few seconds if you have many people continuously use the special attack on the target.
• This technically means a team of 100 people can keep a player stunned for a very, very long time (same as OSRS).

[*]NPCs can no longer attack you diagonally (if frozen)
[*]Fixed special attack effects that were somewhat incorrect:

• Blowpipe - wrong healing amount
• BGS effect - wrong drain amounts
• SGS effect - wrong healing amount
[*]Bounty hunter system changes:

• You can now attack your bounty hunter target no matter the wilderness level difference.
• Eg. A level 116 player can attack a level 120 player in level 1 wilderness.
• The system will attempt match you with a suitable target within +-10 combat levels.
• This was previously set to +-7, but we have changed it to 10 as this is how OSRS' system has it.

#58897 [3/4/17] Major bug fixes, Looting bag, clue bottles, bird nests, etc!

Posted by Omicron on 04 March 2017 - 02:08 AM

Hello everyone,

This weekend's update was primarily focused on fixing many bugs that have gone unnoticed in previous updates while we focused on content. I tried to get as many of them fixed as possible, and while there are still many bugs on my to-do list, I think this update will help to fix most of the major ones. Aside from that, I've managed to add in numerous pieces of content such as the long-awaited Looting bag, clue bottles, bird nests and more!

• Bonds update reverted
• Bonds are now back to how they were before due to popular request -- that is, granting a rank increase past Super donator.
• Hans added to home (south-west):
• Hans will be able to tell you how long you've spent in the world since you've joined!
• Shift-click functionality added to client:
• Following a recent OSRS addition, we've decided to add this QOL feature:
• Hold shift while clicking an inventory item to drop it!
• Fixed Boss timer records on PvM lectern:
• Previously, your solo kill would always be considered a team kill and therefore not counted on highscores. This has been fixed, and you should start to see proper boss kill timers populate the in-game PvM records very soon.
• For reference, the records are updated automatically as soon as the player who set it logs out.
• TzTok-Jad added to killtime and kill count records:
• Jad's killtime will be based on the time that you started the fight cave session, NOT the time it has taken since you first attacked Jad as it normally is.
• Fixed pet visual bug:
• After recoloring your Rock golem with an ore (or if one of your pets undergoes metamorphosis), its color would change if you enter a different area (visual only).
• This has been fixed, the new color of your pet will stay consistent after teleporting.
• Raids dungeon timer fixed:
• Issue where it would not show/save your time record has been fixed.
• Miscellaneous:
• Godsword shards will no longer appear as a "rare drop" yelled under game news for obvious reasons.
• Fixed Cerberus combat bug
• You can no longer rest while in combat.
• Fixed grammatical error on some tips.
• Colored rock golems that aren't your own pet will no longer show the right-click options.
• Right-clicking the donation manager to "Check-donations" will no longer show you the "As an ironman, you are not allowed" message.
• ::support command added to take you to the Support section on the forum
• Sir tiffy cashien in Falador will no longer be facing the wrong direction sitting on the bench.
• Fixed Ancient d'hide top graphical error -- now goes over your arms
• Fixed "Weird old man" chatbox head instead of Brother brace when trying to deposit GP into the Well of goodwill.
• Pegasian crystals now always announce on the global rare drop yell
• Skin color saving:
• If you unlock a skin from the Donation manager, it will now (from this point forward) be re-obtainable for free if you ever wish to change between other skin colors.
• Unfortunately, those with previously purchased skin colors will not have them saved. You can send me a PM to manually unlock it with a screenshot of your skin.
• Item requirements fixed:
• Mages' book - 60 Magic
• Gilded armour - 40 Defence
• Saradomin, Zamorak and Guthix rune trimmed armour - 40 Defence
• Saradomin, Zamorak, Guthix, Ancient and Armadyl godhide armour - 40 Defence and 70 Ranged
• Odium and Malediction wards (and (or) versions) - 60 Defence
• Fixed donator benefits for all ranks:
• Certain rank bonuses were broken -- Eg. A legendary donator would not receive a bonus that a super donator would.
• The whole system has been reworked to properly support this in all cases.
• Visual appearance of Superior Slayer encounters have been updated to make them appear more "Superior".
• This much needed update makes all encounters much more visually appealing.
• Raids changes:
• Olm door ~ Quick entry:
• You can now right-click enter the door before Olm at raids to skip the dialogue
• Fix for getting points on "all-healing" npcs such as Olm's head before the final phase:
• Previously, it was possible to stack points on NPCs that healed themselves.
• It is no longer possible to obtain points for damage that heals an enemy.
• Abyssal bludgeon special attack fixed:
• It was previously using incorrect animation.
• The proper graphics that plays on the ground under your victim has also been added.
• (Note: The previous "effect" of the Special attack was correctly working and has not been changed.)
• Banks fixed for noting/unnoting:
• Many banks were broken in the sense that you could not note/unnote items on them(even if they worked as a bank), including:
• Varrock west/east, falador east/west, catherby, seers village, lumbridge, neitiznot, ardougne south/north, yanille, tzhaar, duel arena chests, clan wars chests, pest control, mages' bank, crafting guild, raids, edgeville RFD chest.
• Thanks to @alumentum for compiling this list of banks!
• Bank noting/unnoting now works on bankers as well:
• Primarily updated for this to work with the banker in the Donator zone and in the Mages' bank.
• Abyssal head loot from using your Unsired on the Font of Consumption fixed:
• Previously, the Abyssal head from the Sire could not be combined with a Slayer helmet to create the Red slayer helmet. This item has been fixed.
• For those of you with the old item, it will automatically be fixed next time you log in.
• Woodcutting update - Bird nests!
• It is now possible for a Bird nest to fall out of a tree while woodcutting!
• (Any tree except for meat trees in Raids -- 1/256 chance each time you chop a log)
• Rate is NOT affected by the type of tree you are chopping.
• There are 10 different nests, including:
• Regular nest
• Guthix, Saradomin or Zamorak egg nests
• Gold ring
• Easy, medium, hard and elite scroll nests
• Each donator rank will increase your chance of obtaining a nest by:
• Uber - 15%
• Legendary - 10%
• Extreme - 7%
• Super - 5%
• Regular - 3%
• All nests will give a tree seed reward with the possibility of a ring OR the rare chance of an Uncut onyx
• If you obtain a god egg, it can be given as a gift to the gods by using it on any altar:
• These eggs will reward you with prayer experience, as well as the chance of obtaining a piece of the Evil chicken outfit!
• The Evil chicken outfit pieces are tradable.
• After opening the nest, it can be crushed with a Pestle and mortar to be used as a Herblore ingredient (specifically for Ironmen)
• Trading Giant mole skins and claws:
• You can now trade in your skins and claws from defeating the Giant mole which has been a thorn in Wyson the gardener's side for years.
• Wyson will be more than happy to give you 1 Bird nest for every 10 claws, or for every 20 skins.
• (Unlike in OSRS, it is possible for these nests to be God egg nests.)
• 20 Mole skins = 1 random Bird nest
• 10 Mole claws = 1 random Bird nest
• Fishing update ~ Clue bottles!
• There is now a random chance of a Clue bottle settling ashore!
• The chance to obtain one is determined by the level of the fish you are catching
• This rate is reduced by these %s for donators:
• 15% for Uber
• 10% for Legendary
• 7% for Extreme
• 3% for Regular
• Easy, Medium, Hard and Elite clue bottles
• Opening a Clue bottle will guarantee 1 clue scroll of the same type
• There is also a chance to obtain Corrupted armour when opening a Clue bottle!
• This armour is untradable.
• Looting bag now functional!
• An update that is long past due, the Looting bag is now available for players to use!
• Obtainable from killing many different enemies in the wilderness
• Able to store 28 items within -- it is essentially a second inventory that can ONLY be used within the wilderness.
• The only way to remove the items, though, is to bank the looting bag or to die with it.
• Banking the looting bag will insert all of its contents into the bank.
• Dying with the looting bag will release all of the items no matter what.
• If you died to another player, it will drop for them. Otherwise, the items will only be visible to you for a few minutes.
• Rune pouch fixes:
• Previously, the rune pouch would be usable even if it was not in your inventory (banked with runes). This has been fixed.
• It would also show that you indeed had runes to use on your spellbook and would light up spells, which has also been fixed.
• Climbing boots access for Ironmen:
• You can now obtain a pair of Climbing boots from Hamal the Chieftain's shop after completing the Mountain daughter quest.
• Forum update:
• Uber rank donator image has been added thanks to @Jedzio
• Hiscores update:
• Overall XP will no longer be limited to 2.147m and will now show the correct value.
• Shop changes:
• Bounty teleport scroll added for 150 tokens

• [Wilderness updates]
• Wilderness Multi-lines fixed:
• All multi-zones have been corrected. Some areas were incorrectly multi-zones, and some boundaries were also slightly off.
• The previous multi zone south-west of the graveyard should not have been multi at all and has been removed.
• Certain areas such as slightly east of Black chinchompas spanning to the Red Dragon Isle which are supposed to be multi were not.
• Multi-zone surrounding the Lava maze had boundaries that were slightly off.
• Wilderness agility course boundaries were way off, the arena itself is not multi at all. Matched to OSRS.
• A ton of time was spent walking around the wilderness on OSRS to make sure these zones were accurate -- but in case an area is incorrect, please PM me to let me know the exact area.
• Teleportation ~ Cancelling incoming damage:
• Teleporting with jewellery will now cancel incoming damage similarly to how spellbooks/levers/teleport tablets do.
• The way this functionality is handled has been changed a bit to ensure that no damage will be taken, even delayed damage -- except that from poison.
• Mage Arena changes:
• Melee/ranged PvP combat is no longer allowed within the Mage arena.
• Similarly to fighting against Battle mages, you can only use Magic spells in PvP from this point moving forward.
• This covers all areas within the arena once you teleport through the lever, meaning the sides of the arena are also Magic only.
• Bounty teleport added:
• Unlocked through a *tradable* Bounty teleport scroll -- Purchasable from the PKP shop or web store.
• Spell works from either the Normal, Ancient or Lunar spellbooks with a requirement of 85 Magic.
• Requires 1 Law rune, 1 Death rune and 1 Chaos rune and grants 45 experience.
• Chance of not using runes to cast with a Staff of the dead/SOTD or Kodai wand.
• Function:
• Will teleport you within 12 squares of your target, as long as you are both in the wilderness and you are not teleblocked or in combat.
• PKP Shop updates:
• Dragon claws, Abyssal dagger and Heavy ballista removed from PKP shop.
• Bounty teleport scroll added to PKP shop
• Overall PKP prices slightly increased
• Emblem exchange changes:
• Emblems will now give 30% more coins and 25% less PKP.
• Food->Combat delay fixed:
• Eating food (not potions) will now have a more accurate delay before being able to attack again.
• This includes certain healing potions, including: Saradomin brews, Guthix rest, and Xeric's aid.
• Teleblock fix:
• Previously, a player could turn on Protect from Magic very late after the teleblock spell is casted and still be protected from it and halve its time.
• This was incorrect, as the "check" for protection prayer should be checked for immediately when the attacker casts the spell and not after that.
• Ranged fixes in PvP(and PvM):
• Many players are aware that many bolt specials were broken and mostly non-functional. These have been fixed to balance the combat triangle:
• Dragon bolts (e) effect:
• Damage increased by 45%
• Does not work if the enemy is wearing an Anti-dragon shield, Dragonfire shield or drank an Anti-fire potion.
• Diamond bolts (e) effect:
• Increases max hit by 15%
• Lowers target's Ranged defence by 25%
• Onyx bolts (e) effect:
• Damage increased by 20%
• Heal your health by 25% of the damage dealt
• The healing part of this special was already functional before, but not the damage increase.
• (Emerald bolts (e) effect tweaked as well)

#54610 [2/17/17] Abyssal sire, PvM lectern, Imbuement scroll and more!

Posted by Omicron on 17 February 2017 - 05:55 AM

Hey guys,

I apologize for the delay in updates which were planned for last weekend, there were many different updates in progress and it wouldn't have been wise to push them without tying up all of the loose ends! I figured I'd push one big update rather than two smaller ones, and I've managed to pack in a fair amount of fixes and content into this one :) Among these updates is the long awaited Abyssal sire (including the weapon fixes, of course), as well as some cool new content such as the PvM lectern at home to list who the top PvMers are when its comes to boss killcounts and time records! Aside from this, many bugs were fixed, particularly client-sided bugs which were much needed.

Feb 22 Patch Notes:

• Abyssal bludgeon attack speed fixed to match Abyssal whip
• Ironman global item looting(eg. Snape grass) has been fixed
• Twisted bow now has a more powerful effect within Raids
• Clan wars changes:
• The "Singles" option will now make the arena single combat (**Replaces "single spells" option)
• Preserve, Augury and Rigour are now disabled if the F2P only setting is on
• Client issue fixed:
• Many players were unable to run the client on HD since the dependancies were not properly able to be downloaded. The client should now correctly download them.
• Note: Some computers will not be able to run HD, typically newer ones running Mac OSX. This will be addressed in the near future.
• PvM lectern records fixed:
• The rankings were showing the wrong username for the top scores/killtimes. This has been fixed.
• There can now be multiple usernames on 1 record if multiple people hold the same highscores (Eg. a Raids team will all appear)
• Killtimes will now only count for SOLO fights! If another player attacks the npc as well.
• As soon as another person attacks the boss during a solo fight, it will make it ineligible for a time record to be set.
• With this change, all killtimes have been reset (Except for the Raids, Zulrah, Cerberus, Sire records)

NOTE: Imbued rings will now lose their imbue and drop to the ground on death if they are not protected ONLY in the wilderness

• [Website changes]
• Hiscores searching now does not take as long to load a user's information
• **Promotional sales have ended.
• [Client updates]
• Crashing fixes
• Eg. Right-click item before opening bank would cause crash
• Eg. Runcrafting at an altar while emptying pouches
• Fixed "Identity kit":
• Some players had weird looking character appearances -- eg. being in a cart or a bookcase. This has been fixed.
• Performance enhancements:
• Removed useless code within the client to tidy things up
• Zoom fixes:
• Client zoom from settings tab now zooms out futher
• Entering resizeable mode will no longer be zoomed in as close as before
• *Note: Many players are unaware that you can hold (CTRL) on your keyboard and use the mouse wheel to zoom in/out.
• Text fixes:
• Friends list: No more capitalization or ? in place of spaces
• No more )2 or weird characters on certain items and objects
• [Server updates]
• Corporeal beast combat change:
• Ruby bolts are now only half as effective as before on the Corporeal beast.
• Corporeal beast sigil rate revised:
• 1/585 chance on OSRS -> 1/475 rate on Alora
• (NOT a guaranteed sigil)
• Roll between 0-100, if it lands between 0 and 7 (inclusive) you get a Sigil
• Giant mole cavern is now a multi-combat zone
• Fixed Battle mage bug:
• Previously, players were able to attack you in the Battle mage arena even if you were under attack by a mage
• This bug has been globally fixed and will possibly fix similar issues in other non-multi areas on Alora.
• Slayer equipment changes:
• Previously, the default Slayer helmet and Black mask only provided a 16.67% damage boost, but no boost at all to accuracy.
• Both headgear now provide the proper boosts. (Melee-only if non-imbued)
• Slayer helm (i) / Black mask (i) have been added:
• Provides Magic/Ranged bonuses of 15% to damage and accuracy on top of the base Melee boost
• Purchase a Helmet imbuement scroll from the Slayer shop for 7.5k reward points and use it on your helm or mask.
• Imbuement scroll added to Slayer shop for 10k points:
• (Tradable item)
• You are now able to imbue the following items using the scroll:
• Slayer helm
• Normal, red, black or green all work
• Black mask
• Ring of suffering
• Ring of the gods
• Treasonous ring
• Tyrannical ring
• Seers ring
• Archers ring
• Warriors ring
• Berserker ring
• Salve amulet (e)
• *See below for effects/obtaining

[*]Salve amulet (e) added:

• Added to the Slayer reward shop for 7.5k points
• This amulet can be imbued into a Salve amulet (i) with an imbuement scroll.
• A 20% increase in accuracy and damage dealt to any undead monsters -- no task required:
• *See the screenshot below for a full list of Undead monsters*

[*]New hairstyles added

• Eight new hairstyles have been added to Alora. Speak to the Make-over mage to check them out!

[*]Ore-coloured Golem pets have been added!

• You can now recolor your Golem using an Ore of your choice on it.
• This version of your Golem will save on logout.
• *Once you recolor your Golem, you will not be able to get it back to the original color.
• With that being said, you could recolor it using a different ore.

[*]Options include:

• Tin
• Copper
• Iron
• Silver
• Coal
• Gold
• Mithril
• Adamantite
• Runite
• Granite
• Unavailable through conventional methods -- Rare drop from Gargoyles (0.76%)
• Blurite
• Unavailable through conventional methods -- Rare drop from Wyverns (0.76%)
[*]Elite void colors darkened

• This update recently passed a poll on OSRS and has been implemented to Alora as well.

[*]Untradable reclaim items updated to include:

• Treasonous ring (i) - 400k
• Tyrannical ring (i) - 400k
• Ring of the gods (i) - 400k
• Ring of suffering (i) - 400k

[*]Recent kills list added:

• The scoreboard will now list the most recent kills (at the top) in the wilderness.
• Details shown:
• Both players' combat levels
• Wilderness level the battle ended in
• Time the battle ended (Server time)

[*]Miscellaneous:

• Cerberus fade interface fixed
• Pest control portals death animation fixed
• Dragon spear special can no longer be used on Portals within Pest control
• Dragon spear special attack no longer stuns the NPC within Raids dungeons
• Fixed small bug with ironmen picking up items
• Specifically, picking up your own items in the wilderness when killed by someone was buggy.
• When dropping items in the wilderness worth more than 50k, it wouldn't block noted items. This has since been fixed.
• Bot prevention: Typing ::empty will now stop any skilling actions(Eg. fishing)
• Technical:
• Trading post history/listing time is no longer bugged in our system
• Command logs have been added
• Changes to the donation item database make it easier for us to lookup past purchases
• Dwarf cannon bug fixed:
• When logging out and logging back in, you previously couldn't set up a cannon in the same spot your old cannon was in.
• Lizardman shaman fix:
• When the Shaman spawns minions, they were previously not doing any damage. They should now hit between 4-9 damage if you are within 1 step of them.
• Fixed unnoted essence drops:
• Certain monsters (eg. Marble gargoyle) were dropping high amounts of unnoted essence. This is now fixed.
• Fixed Saradomin boss killcount/timer:
• Commander Zilyana was not being counted as a "boss" and therefore not listing the killcount or killtime. This has been corrected.
• Fixed bank/shop --> rest bug:
• A bug that allowed you to perform actions such as open the bank interface from a distance has been fixed.
• Fixed major pet insurance bug:
• Previously, if you died with more than 1 pet it would never let you buy back all of your pets as it would get stuck on 1 pet.
• You can now buy back your pet only once (and proceed to buy back any others), although the insurance will remain on it.
• Experiments fixed:
• Experiments were previously not attackable once they respawned after being killed once.
• Experiments have also been visually updated to look slightly less like @Lowkey
• Fixed chinchompa effect
• Would previously kill npcs that aren't attackable in the first place if they were near the explosion.
• Kraken fixes:
• Arrows will now drop under the player and not under Kraken.
• Kraken's magic attack delay before display damage was too long.

[*]Giant squirrel pet changes:

• You can now obtain the Giant squirrel through any Rooftop Agility course!

[*]Staff changes:

• Staff zone now accessible by Server support members
• ::wildy will show all users in the wilderness + combat levels to prevent farming
• Turning on/off weekend bonuses can now be done by admins, as well as:
• The possibility of adding a 1.5x Raids rewards rate
• Juggernaut changes:

[*]PvM/Boss records lectern:

• A lectern has been placed at home slightly west of the bank:
• This lectern will list the fastest boss kill records for every boss, and which player holds it!
• Additionally, the second right-click option will list the player who has killed the most of each boss!
• (All records are sorted alphabetically and updated in real-time)
• (Banned players will not be shown in these records -- The next best record will be shown)

[*]Uber donator changes:

• You can now have up to 20 trading post listings vs. the limit of 16 for Legendary donators
• You can now purchase gold/yellow skin color from the Donation manager for 180m

[*]Bond changes:

• Rank increase change:
• Important: Bonds will now give ONLY tokens once you've become a Super donator, with no rank increase thereafter.
• Eg. If you're a normal player, you can open bonds to get to Super donator, but cannot continue to reach Extreme, for example.

[*]You will still receive 100 tokens as usual, just not the rank increase past Super donator.
[*]Tick eating fix:

• A much needed pvp fix which allowed properly timed eating to essentially make someone undefeatable in singles combat:
• Ex. Player 1 attacks Player 2. Player 2 has 2hp. Even if Player 1 uses an AGS spec, they are limited to hit a max of 2hp. That means if Player 2 eats during the same tick as Player 1 attacks, and has lower PID than Player 1, they essentially cannot die.
• This is especially problematic for DH risk fights.
• Video explanation:
• To fix this, we've removed the damage limit. Even if Player 2 has 2hp, you can still hit 70 on them with an AGS spec.
• This fix has been applied to all 3 combat styles, as well as combat effects such as Vengeance/recoil/dragonfire.
• It also applies to PvM in most cases.

[*]Abyssal sire has been released!

• Speak to The Unsired after using the "Abyssal Sire" teleport in the bosses tab on the Teleport interface.
• The Unsired will teleport you into an instance where you can begin the battle.
• Items are SAFE on death.
• You must have a Slayer level of 85 to enter the chamber.
• If you are on an Abyssal demon task, killing the sire will count towards your task.
• Abyssal sire can now be assigned as a Slayer task, for between 5-15 kills.
• The Abyssal sire will log the time taken to kill it from the moment you awaken it.
• Reward system - Font of Consumption:
• If you are lucky enough to receive the Unsired as a drop, you can take it to the Font of Consumption to receive a random reward from the following table:
• (Using the same rates as OSRS)
• Abyssal dagger
• Dagger animations have also been fixed.
• 1 of 3 Bludgeon pieces: Claw, axe or spine
• Simply combine these pieces while having all 3 in your inventory to form the Abyssal bludgeon
• The Bludgeon can no longer be purchased from the PvP shop
• Bludgeon combat mechanics fixed
• Bludgeon special attack:
• Hit 0.5% more damage for every missing Prayer point you have
• Abyssal orphan
• Abyssal head
• Jar of miasma
• Abyssal whip

[*]Chamber phases:

• Phase 1:
• You must awaken the Sire by attacking it. During this phase, you can stun the sire by dealing 75 damage or simply tank the damage.
• After awakening Sire and potentially stunning it, you must kill all 4 Respiratory systems in each of the corners.
• Phase 2:
• It will walk down from its throne and begin fighting you with melee based combat using 3 different melee-based attacks.
• Once it reaches 200hp, the next phase will begin.
• Phase 3:
• The Sire will plant itself in the middle of the room.
• After it plants itself, it will open up a portal and teleport you to it.
• If you do not move away quickly enough, you will be hit with high damage.
• Once the teleport attack is done, the sire will be on its final phase and will attack with all styles in its last attempt: tentacles, melee, and poisonous fumes.

#44430 Raids: Chambers of Xeric Preview

Posted by Omicron on 17 January 2017 - 12:32 PM

Hey guys,

As many of you already know, we've been working hard on developing the recently released Raids system from OSRS to have it available on Alora. I'm very pleased to announce that it's coming along nicely, and that the progress is coming along quicker than expected. Although it won't be 100% accurate to OSRS, we're trying to get the most important parts(eg. The battle against the Olm and other bosses) to be as accurate as possible.

So far, we've got a decent system for managing the different Raids sessions that could be simultaneously active, as well as forming a team to go into a dungeon with. The interfaces for this are not yet configured, but the backend support is there.

Here's a small overview of a few features:

• Raids sessions support
• Capable of hosting an instanced raids map for a party(we will likely limit this number to ~20 people)
• A map with 12 rooms, not including the final Olm room, is created.
• Each room has it's own enemies to face. (Currently only two rooms configured)
• Olm boss
• We've tried to keep the Olm combat mechanics as true to OSRS's as possible. It took a long time to find all of the animations, graphics, and other configurations to make this happen, but it looks very nice at the moment.
• This boss is intended to be a challenge, and we do not plan to lessen that challenge as much as we have with other bosses(eg. Zulrah). Olm seems to have many different combat mechanics, phases, and rotations which are being analyzed right now to make sure that Alora's Olm is equivalent.
• Olmlet pet:
• The dialogue is 100% accurate to OSRS's, including the proper laugh animations on the different dialogue sections.

This is the primary focus of development at the moment, and other updates will be put aside for the most part until we release Raids(except necessities). There is currently no ETA as I'm not sure how long some of the other aspects will take, but if all goes well we'll have it out before February 1st. I will make sure to keep everyone updated on the progress as I'm sure many of you are just as keen as I am to see this update make its way to Alora!

We've still got a long way to go, but this update really is huge and we plan to make it as comprehensive as possible.

Enjoy, and keep your eyes out for some updates soon  ;)

#34522 Development Blog #2

Posted by GameDevJason on 22 December 2016 - 11:46 AM

Hello,

The following are a list of changes that have either been applied, or are going to be applied in the next few days. The following are player driven suggestions, I have to applaud the amount of suggestions being made on a weekly basis. Keep it up, if your suggestion didn't make the bunch there is always next week.

• Gambling Command
• The ::gamble and ::gambling commands have been implemented to allow players more ease of access when gambling.
• Agility Cape
• The cape can be worn in place of the Graceful Cape to gain the Graceful Set effect.
• Coal Bag
• Players can now obtain a coal bag which will allow them to store between 27 and 36 coal. Store coal ore in the bag, and while smithing you will use coal from the bag instead of your inventory to create bars.
• Zul-Andra Teleport Item
• This item allows any player to quickly teleport the Zul-Andra area for quick return.
• Purchase Bulk Runes
• Aubury knows a bit more english, he can now sell 2 groups of runes sets; Vengerance and Barrage runes. Each set contains 1,000 casts which allows for easy and quick restocking. This however comes at a 7% interest. What do you guys think of this?
• Money Casket Rewards
• There are now three types of money caskets. The first tier now grants between 50 and 100k, the second tier grants between 75 and 110k and the third tier grants between 100 and 125k. The first tier requires a monster to have between 1 and 50 combat, the second requires 51 and 150, and the third is anything exceeding that. Any player with a current chest before this update has a tier 3 chest, enjoy!
• Coins for Reclaimables on Death
• When a player dies in the wilderness with an item on their person that is reclaimable will have 50% of the reclaimable cost dropped in the form of coins for the killer. The purpose of this is to give back some of the money that is leaving the economy so that players that focus on player killing can make more money whilst doing so.

Thanks!
