#116094 Daily Achievements

Posted by Hex on 09 September 2017 - 07:23 AM

Big fan of dailies when they are done right, but when done badly they can ruin a game.
The rewards you suggested are great, they promote user daily activity and reward the player with convenience. This is how it should be done.

Just don't make some warbands-esque trash that replaces skills

#115988 Content Poll: Fossil Island, Construction

Posted by Hex on 08 September 2017 - 07:52 PM

i just don't see the point in adding construction it brings nothing new to the table, where as other content which you linked or fossil island, is new content and can bring people in.

have you seen how big fossil island is, that's a lot of dev time if we want it to be well done.

I would vote for seed box > fossil island

#115899 Content Poll: Fossil Island, Construction

All you voting construction, is there a reason why? what're you expecting from it what we don't already have in-game, you're not really giving reasons as to why you're voting for it over new content which can help player-base.

Besides building a room/chair and sitting in it all day.

Yes, that is exactly what I'm expecting. And that weirdly enough is exactly what I'm looking forward to.
Bringing a market to currently useless boss drops is also an incentive.

Does the skill bring anything more to the game than fire-making or agility? No, not really, But is that really a decent excuse to continue putting it off indefinitely. You have to remember that construction has been coming soon™ for about 9months or something now, and the server has over 1800 "maxed" players all sitting around with 1 construction, and I'm not even including Ironmen/HCIM/UIM/Classic maxed accounts.

Fossil island is cool and all, but as previously mentioned, I think it would be better to wait a while, let Jagex iron out any problems themselves and finish construction in the meantime to make everyone happy. I am a fan of new content too, I think it's fresh and exciting, but when it is paired with a game that is missing some fundamentals it eventually just becomes annoying.

I voted on con because I value fixing/adding existing content before adding new content ontop.
If it were up to me I would prefer Omicron just worked through this list http://www.alora.io/...ggested-topics/ to make the game more full and enjoyable to play before releasing more content.

TL: DR I would prefer Omicron finish the update he is already working on (supposedly) and then tackle fossil island afterwards.

Construction has been delayed too many times, would prefer to wait an extra few weeks for fossil island and finally get to try out construction on Alora.

#115677 Suggestions [07/09/2017]

Vet rank is for ex staff only for now, and I would like to see member of the month have their own spot on the main website of alora or front page of the forums

ya, why do we need 2 ex-staff ranks, confusing af

I went to find some mention of veteran rank and I found a post from uTorrent saying they were thinking about changing the rank to make it achievable to players, so that's good news.

Forums Suggestions

Forum Awards

Right now, Forum Awards are only given at an Administrator's discretion, meaning if you deserve x award you wouldn't be able to get it unless you contact an Administrator. I'm suggesting for there to be an area on the Forums where members of the community can apply for x award themselves. Quick note: Not all members of staff have the staff award as it's not automatic.

Veteran Requirements

This has been addressed a few times by members of the community already but I think you should allow people to obtain the Veteran rank - you should, at the very least, post a thread listing all of the requirements you need in order to be eligible to the Veteran rank. From here, they should be allowed to apply for the rank (if they meet all of the requirements).

I agree with pretty much every suggestion on your list, these 2, in particular, i don't think have really been suggested before or talked about all that much so I'll comment my thoughts on those.

As for Forum Awards, I would really love to see them automated as you suggested, but furthermore, i would like them to also focus on in-game achievements to show off as accolades while talking on the forums. One of the few times I have seen the award system work as I envisioned it should is the player Take Notes.
EjdpmbL.png
There should be an extension of this type of accolade, and less of things like this. N4HvH4B.png
Star? what......?

When I originally suggested the expansion of the forum awards, I was hoping for something more achievable and understandable for the entire player-base.
A reward for achievements in the form of a little badge for your forums account so you can proudly state "I did this!".

This was more what I was expecting Lh6bU7T.png

I would love to see this forum award system given another revival, and more in-game achievements and competition based accolades (member of the month/community-awards/gfx competitions etc). To incentivize people to be more invested in the game. The Points and PVP competitions for classic release would have been a perfect example of competitions deserving a forum badge.

--------

Now as for Veteran rank, is there an explanation of what it actually is anywhere, I haven't seen it and it just kinda popped out of nowhere while I was inactive during school.
hmu with that rank thanks, been here since before day 1 xoxo

#115068 New Donor Rank BENEFITS

Posted by Hex on 05 September 2017 - 12:19 AM

Really like the donor zone suggestions! Seems very thought out, and isnt incredibly op, which is a good thing.

As for the skilling/utility items, I wouldn't mind seeing them on the donor store, but I would also like them added to the loyalty store.

Even if this means the price of them would be incredibly high, I don't like the idea of a QoL feature being locked behind a paywall.

#112013 Classy Tradepost?

Posted by Hex on 26 August 2017 - 01:13 AM

I definitely can see how this could be frustrating when you're limited to sell/buy items only with other classic players.

Would be nice to see a classic only trade post option, or even create an area where classic players can sell there stuff in that specific location.

For example, creating a command such as ;;cs (classic shops) and have it teleport you to a dedicated location for classic players to sell/'buy items.

Could even make it to where classic players can only use the command ;;cs. Similar to how only Donators can use ;;dz

+Support

We have been using ::event for this. its good but a set trading location doesn't really work as well as it did on real runescape where the population is 10000000x bigger.
Also gets frustrating being from a less popular timezone.

I support tp for classic

#109155 Construction suggestions

Posted by Hex on 14 August 2017 - 05:42 PM

I've heard construction is in the works so I thought I would post a few suggestions before it releases :P

1) Make mahogany trees cuttable before release so we can prepare

2) Convenient sawmill or Plank make

3) Direct teleport to mahogany / teak trees in teleport mage

4) Possibly adding more trees to the game, either in ::dz or elsewhere

#107390 Classic Mode

Posted by Hex on 09 August 2017 - 04:31 AM

This mode looks great, can't wait to see how it is once released.

Is there going to be a way to show off your hard work like there is for Ironmen, with a cool badge or armor set?

#65101 Completionist Cape Requirements

Posted by Hex on 27 March 2017 - 04:32 AM

Its a Private Server, not the official game. It has quite a lot of achievements to complete along with the music (which would be a lot easier to obtain in the official game)

Maybe im just a masochist, but im just not a fan of being able to completely comp your account in 2 days or less.

The only real hard achievements (time wise) are the 200m requirements, but even that is completable in a day or two.

iirc Flexicution was able to get 2 200m stats within 2 days of the server launching.

Ive always been a fan of the weird achievement that runescape had to offer, and seeing them included in comp cape on real rs is quite enjoyable.

Some examples would be champion scrolls, minigame rewards (gold cwars or the mob armies sets) or various other minigame related achievements

I get that its a private server and its meant to be fast paced and easily achieveable, but some long term achievements that arnt just xp related would be really interesting

#65084 Completionist Cape Requirements

Posted by Hex on 27 March 2017 - 01:16 AM

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the goal is to bring activity to the wilderness w/ the pvp acheivements, but instead it just demotivates people and they don't bother. Adding x amount of each boss in wildy to be killed will solve two things with 1 stone - active wildy, and a fair ground for the completionist cape.

Only problem with this that i can see is that it kinda screws over UIM and eventually HCIM that need to risk their entire account just to do that achievement.

#65077 Completionist Cape Requirements

Posted by Hex on 26 March 2017 - 11:48 PM

Yeah this seems fair enough to me.

Ironmen struggle with the PKing achievement because of the gear limitations, but it still isn't feasible for the average player to get a 15 kill streak.

A large majority of the server doesn't care about PKing, shown by the amount of current pkers at any given time.

I say just remove the achievement alltogether, and replace them with pvm achievements.

Fairly sure even rs3 comp cape is pvm based and doesnt require pvp outside of grindable minigames.

EDIT: idk if i agree with how the poll is worded, i think it should be less obtainable by adding many more challenging achievement to the requirements, but i do agree that pking shouldnt be included.

#64828 Content Poll - HCIM

Posted by Hex on 25 March 2017 - 11:37 PM

I guess this depends on what you want "Hardcore" to represent for this gamemode.

I would personally be a fan of a low xp rate and no access to vote books, or at the very least no access to crystal chest.

This is because crystal chest can pretty much solo half of your cooking/ fm / smithing / crafting / fletching, FAR too op for a gamemode that i'm assuming you want to be somewhat hard.

Also, how much of a challenge is maxing a HCIM going to actually be if you just need to stay alive for 2 days?

A repeat of UIM just wouldn't be any fun

 18aBUmp.png

0GHAnUu.png

Granted just the increased risk from using wilderness methods will be a deterrent and therefore a xp nerf for hcim, but i dont think it is quite enough to make this gamemode actually challenging.

Another question i had was, how are the deaths going to work? will be have the option for more than 1 life like rs3, with a maximum of 3, or limited to 1.

Will we derank to normal ironman on death or account disabled?

In my opinion HCIM should have:

-access to wilderness xp, just for those willing to risk everything for some slightly faster xp

-access to skill of the day bonus (this makes training skills efficiently slightly more dependant on foreplanning)

and shouldn't have:

-access to vote bonus

-access to weekend bonus

-access to PKP

-access to crystal chest
