Alora League 3.0 Information

Hello everyone,

Another league event is on the horizon! We're excited to announce that we're hosting our 3rd Alora League in just a few days! This League event introduces two new regions, Karamja & the Desert, and brings with it all-new in-game rewards. If you did not participate in either of the previous Leagues, here's the rundown:

On March 15th at 7pm Eastern Time, starting on fresh accounts that are locked to Zeah (with Desert and Karamja now unlockable), you'll be able to complete tasks and collect points. The players who have accumulated the most points by the end of the tournament will be awarded with some juicy prizes, including a PlayStation 5 for the top prize! There are also many other token prizes that can be won for the first players to accomplish certain tasks, such as obtaining Ranger boots. At the end of the tournament, players can spend their points on new, unique items from the Leagues reward shop.

Start date: March 15th, 7pm EST (Midnight server time)
End date: April 5th, 7pm EST (Midnight server time)

How does it work?
On March 15th, you'll be able to create a fresh account to participate in Leagues. This account will be wiped on April 5th and no items can be transferred off of it to a normal account, due to the increased drop rates on this game mode and other perks. Certain areas will be instanced, such as the Kourend Catacombs, to allow players to have a bit more space to train and compete. We are also instancing bosses such as Sarachnis to prevent overcrowding. While donator ranks do apply on these accounts, due to the account being permanently locked at the end of the tournament, at that point you will need to put in a request to transfer the total spent to one of your main Alora accounts -- no minimum amount applies on these transfers and the lowest donation rank can be transferred.

Top Alora Token prizes:

• First Twisted bow: 1,000 tokens
• First Tumeken's shadow: 1,000 tokens
• First to obtain Infernal cape: 1,000 tokens
• First to 200m exp in any skill: 1,000 tokens
• First 1,000-level Tombs of Amascut completion: 750 tokens
• First to obtain a Phoenix pet from Wintertodt: 750 tokens
• First to obtain a Tempoross pet: 750 tokens
• First to obtain any boss pet: 750 tokens
• First to obtain any 3rd age piece: 750 tokens
• First to complete a Master difficulty task: 500 tokens
• First to complete a collection log entry: 250 tokens

Even if you don't receive one of the big cash prizes, there are plenty of reasons to play leagues! If you're feeling lucky, try your hand at a specific token prize, such as obtaining a Phoenix pet. You'll also have the ability to spend your points on many different in-game prizes at the end of the tournament, including previous League rewards and new alike, such as:

• Trailblazer Reloaded Ornament Kits for the following items:
  • Blowpipe

Notes:

• The rules and prizes are subject to change based on availability.
• If a cash prize is unavailable in your country, an equivalent prize or amount via PayPal may be substituted.
• Winners of cash prizes can choose to receive Alora tokens and can receive 50% more by doing so.

We'll have more detailed information of this tournament on release day, but this thread should give you a basic outline of what's to come. We hope you guys are just as excited for the start of our third Alora League!

This month we have some great interviews from 99 & Escrow. Enjoy the read!

 

H: Is there a memory on Alora that you will never forget about?

99: When I was Admin I used to be up the latest from the rest of the team, so I asked Moe & Omi about me being a Event Manager to host events at night for the community. They weren't the most active but they were absolutely the most thankful. A lot of gamers who work/different timezones/whatever miss out on events. I loved doing them.

 

H: If there wasn't Alora, what game would you spend your free time playing?

99: Probably some more Helldivers o7. Or, of course, spend more time on OSRS. I have a hard time picking and choosing my grinds.

 

H: What are some of your long term targets on here?

99: Right now just focusing on my EIM. Going to try and completionist that and probably move into a HCIM again.

 

H: What keeps you motivated?

99: Never give up, never what?! Failure sucks. Been there a lot and I hate it so I refuse to expereince it again.

 

H: If you were given the chance to make your one wish come true, what would it be?

99: I just want the people around me to have what they deserve. I want my mom to be able to retire, my girlfriend to have everything she wants, my dad to no longer hurt. All of my friends to eat well and enjoy life.

H: Is there a memory on Alora that you will never forget about?

Escrow: A memory on Alora I would never forget. I feel like there isn't a specific memory. Just the overall gains, meeting new people, helping the community. Lots of memories created, but one doesn't really stand out.

 

H: If there wasn't Alora, what game would you spend your free time playing?

Escrow: Probably be no lifing some osrs or whatever games come across my feels for the day.

 

H: What are some of your long term targets on here?

Escrow: Long term targets was to get comp on GIM, but work flow and life flow with the slow rates kinda burnt me out. So looking to accomplish this target on Normie mode now, lol.

 

H: What keeps you motivated?

Escrow: The drive for a better life and continuing to grow my little family.

 

H: If you were given the chance to make your one wish come true, what would it be?

Escrow: Accomplishing 99 or 200M Patience. I think it's a great feature to have to accomplish a lot in life.

It's a donator rank for a reason. I think the content and effort is great that you guys do but to be rewarded for something other people pay for seems a bit off to me. So i'm kinda in the middle on this one... If you want the perks just grind and pay for the bonds/donate towards the upkeep of the server.

My personal opinion is that you should create content for fun, I don't think  a reward system for being a content creator should be in place. The reward is recognition on a RSPS. Overall not a bad idea, I'm not feeling it in terms of donation perks.

Although I like the idea of rewarding YouTuber's for creating content for Alora and helping Alora grow, this simply requires too much micromanaging in my opinion. Currently there is some milestones you'll need to hit and you'll be granted the YouTuber Rank which is so much easier to manage. I believe Moe handles the content creaters and this would mean that Moe would have to personally look through the videos to make sure they're up to both him and Omicron's quality standards.

With the current rank, there is a requirement for an amount of videos you would have to make but also a requirement for how long you would have had to be making content for Alora. If new YouTuber ranks were to be added these would need increased requirements to ensure quality and consistency, in my opinion.

Maybe a few different YouTuber ranks with different milestones and requirements is an idea, but as mentioned previously I don't think this is the solution due to the amount of micromanaging required.

Support, it's a small thing but would be nice to see dedication to the server rewarded!

I really like this! This shows a little bit more love to the creators and shows the work they put in for the server!

Much further into the account now since I last made a post, I've been away on a trip for a month and only got back in recently.

Seeing how I've consistently had very favorable RNG with my grinds this week, having completed my Zulrah and Dagganoth King grind, it was finally time to visit the Fight Caves.

I would find it difficult to get a decent cape to cover my back on Melee tasks while doing Slayer so it was about time I got the Fire Cape but to my surprise Jad wanted to offer me a little extra something.

Got the handsome red boy to accompany me in my future endeavors. I fear nothing!
