Hi all, my suggestion would be the removal of the healer and altar from home within the thieving area. This would make the POH hold more value. This also presents the opportunity for people to either make their own houses, or buy prayer pots/food from shops/players. This may create a SLIGHT money sink.
EDIT: Something I'm noticing a lot is people are missing my point COMPLETELY. I'm saying this as a BUFF to POH. Not to cause "tedious" or "uselessness" to the fact of having to buy food/pots. Yes, people will have to buy pots and food. Yes they will have to eat them. HOWEVER, most players are trying to max at some point, so most players will hopefully try putting a pool in their house of some sort. I myself teleport back to my house between certain boss kills to recharge spec for chally and make it back before the boss spawns. Yes the altar and healer work for newer players, and maybe we can code an amnesty to using them. Something, I just dislike how it devalues the use of ornate rej. pools within houses, or even the donator level pools. So before posting, I ask you please just consider the IDEA of it, instead of just bashing it down. I understand most servers have this, and that we are one of (if not) the biggest servers out there, and it would hurt integrity of the game. However, I think it would be a simple update to boost use of POH. Also, if it is as HUGE of a deal as the people downvoting are putting it, then why not move it to the teleport spot at home. That would save the precious 5 seconds it takes.

Inclined to say no support on this one. It's been an integral part of the game for some time now. I wouldn't see it going over well if it was removed now.

Unfortunately no support from me either buddy. I don't see how the healer or altar would affect people buying food and pots. It's not like people stop raiding or bossing or anything else to go recharge their pray and health and go back, it's just a convenience not to have to spend tedious time eating and praypotting when moving from one activity to another. Also there is already a great advantage to house altars, using bones on them.

That's a NO from me.
We want home traffic, we get that by having these benefits at home.
However, I would like to see POH have more value, as In actual working stuff in it.

Support, makes perfect sense.

Because an altar/healer wouldn't be as convenient to use, so pots and food would be in greater demand.

This.
I love the idea to promote POH and actually get people to try and train prayer/the brand new skill everyones been complaining about waiting for, but it's been there for so long, and especially the healer as well.

You are missing the whole point of my post. The point is, that whatever amount of your trip you are gonna have to recharge is gonna be so little that it doesn't even matter, but it's enough to piss you off when you have to do it every time. Let's be honest here, removing the healer is not gonna increase food demand. Me myself, i've NEVER even used the healer.

Don't understand what you mean with the first bit... and you're in the minority if you don't use the healer.

You go to perform an activity somewhere. It usually begins from your bank, continues to the destination and usually ends back at your bank. During that trip you are going to be spending alot of food to heal your hit points and pots to charge your prayer. What ever the amount is that you are going to have to recharge of your health at the healer is insignificant compared to the total amount of health restored during the trip. I feel stupid just having to explain this

Not really, loads of people use the healer/altar at home after they kill a boss and use little to no food... You can also teleport home, use the altar/healer and return to where you were really quickly using the wizard. I hardly used any food/pots whilst attaining 200M slayer, as you can just teleport to a dungeon, let your prayer drain, go back to the altar and return in about 20 seconds... There's literally no point in prayer potions/food when PVMing unless you're doing certain bosses.

I wouldn't bother teleporting back and forth just to save on a couple bits of food like you, i don't think alot of other people do either. Also, removing the home altar wouldn't change the situation much, it would still be fast to go to your house and pray on the altar. If you take the trouble to not buy pray pots and take the 20seconds to go to the home altar you would most propably do it with the 8 extra seconds that it takes for a detour to your house altar. Also i think the fact that you can use bones on house altar is enough to encourage housing.

The only reason I'm saying no is because it would decrease home-traffic and the use of people teleporting home to use the heal altar you so much want to be removed. I'm taking in what you have to say, I really am, but still the fact remains as to why I don't think this would be a good idea. Others will agree or disagree so let's see where this goes.

I was going to say that I'm on the fence about this, for the simple reason of: Home Traffic. How ever, there's plenty of other things within the ::home/::thieve area that would balance this out regardless, the teleport wizard, banks, shops, and all of those lovely things.
That all in mind, if I may deposit my 2 cents:
Leave the Altar, if you want to you can have it moved to a different part of the home area with no direct teleport that puts you 5 squares away from it, so for example, by the Yew trees or in the Jail cell. Whether there's an altar at home or not, isn't going to change people from using one without going to or creating a POH.
To counter that and actually create some need for POH's, remove the rejuvenation pool (I know this is slightly touched on in your post edit but it isn't in the original idea.). Add a Potion that restores your Special Attack, thus still creating a slight need/want for a potion, gives us a nice little Herblore Update, creates a sink for the supplies/potions. For the potion maybe add some sort of time delay example being you can only consume one full (3) dose potion every 5-10 minutes. Still warrants want/need for the rejuvenation pool as that is an unlimited feature to my knowledge.
Remove the Healer, that part stays the same, keep her at the ::dz bank as it adds to the draw of donating gives an added perk to the donator zone, etc.
All and all, I still support this regardless of if my 2 cents are considered.
Cheers,
~W
