Hello everyone,
We are very excited to show you a sneak peak of something that we have been working on for the past few weeks which we are sure you are very excited for, the recently released Fortis Colosseum!
This epic arena is the setting for a new, wave-based PvM minigame. The Fortis Colosseum will pit the bravest among you against an onslaught of increasingly complex waves of enemies. Those of you who own a Fire Cape should be able to get your feet wet in the early rounds, but as the waves progress, you can expect combinations of enemies that will test the skills of even the most seasoned combatants. Unlike other wave-based minigames, as the difficulty increases, so do the stakes. After each wave, you’ll be offered a choice: swallow your pride and leave with the loot or risk it all on the next battle – you’re here to put on a show, after all!
- Overview:
- The Fortis Colosseum is a large stadium found on the cliffs east of Civitas illa Fortis. Here, players can take on up to twelve waves of opponents, culminating with the final wave against Sol Heredit. Enemies will spawn in similarly to the TzHaar Fight Caves and Inferno, though additional enemies will also spawn in during the wave.
- Gameplay:
- At the end of each wave, players can choose to modify future waves by adding modifiers. For example, players may choose to reduce their maximum Hitpoints, strengthen opponents, or alter the arena's terrain. Handicaps are randomized and will persist for all subsequent waves of the current run. After each wave, players are also given the option to end their Colosseum run with the spoils they've earned up to their current wave.
- Rewards:
- Before starting a wave, an interface will appear indicating the loot from the current wave and loot from the upcoming wave. You may choose to either continue and risk your rewards or end the run and claim all of your hard-won spoils. If you die, teleport out during a wave or log out, all accumulated loot will be lost. You can obtain unique rewards from Wave 3 onwards. Every wave after that has a progressively higher chance of awarding a unique item. Unique rewards from the chest include:
- Dizana's Quiver is an untradeable, chargeable (and corruptible) Cape-slot offering, boasting higher offensive bonuses than Ava's Assembler and a particularly unique effect which allows it to hold at least two types of ammo, automatically selecting whichever applies to your current weapon. You'll be able to earn one of these by making it all the way to the end of a Colosseum run!
- Sunfire fanatic armour is effectively Proselyte armour with bigger numbers. In order to wear the armour, the player must have a Prayer level of 60 and a Defence level of 40. The armour shares the same stats with rune armour, barring the lighter weight and higher prayer bonus.
- Echo crystal which is used on a pair of guardian boots to create echo boots, which gives it an additional +2 prayer bonus and a passive recoil effect. Each echo crystal added to the boots gives it 6,000 recoil charges.
- Tonalztics of ralos is a thrown weapon that requires level 75 Ranged to equip. Unlike most thrown weapons, it is not stackable and effectively provides unlimited "ammo," though it has an additional effect when charged. In its uncharged state, the weapon hits a target for 0-75% of the player's maximum ranged hit once. However, when charged with Sunfire splinters, the weapon will hit twice instead, with the second damage roll independent from the first. It can hold a maximum of 20,000 charges.
- Sunfire splinters are a common drop. They can be used to charge Dizana's quiver and the Tonalztics of Ralos.
- Smol heredit, the boss pet of Sol Heredit, obtained by beating the Colosseum
