Alora League 2.0 Information

Hello everyone,

It's that time of the year again, and we're excited to announce that we're hosting our 2nd Alora League in just a few days! This League will be very similar to the first one, although the in-game rewards will be entirely different. If you did not participate in the previous League, here's the rundown:

On December 27th at 7pm Eastern Time, starting on fresh accounts that are locked to Zeah, you'll be able to complete tasks and collect points. The players who have accumulated the most points by the end of the tournament will be awarded with some juicy prizes, including a PlayStation 5 for the top prize! There are also many other token prizes that can be won for the first players to accomplish certain tasks, such as obtaining Ranger boots. At the end of the tournament, players can spend their points on new, unique items from the Leagues reward shop.

Start date: December 27th, 7pm EST (Midnight server time)
End date: January 19th, 7pm EST (Midnight server time)

How does it work?
On December 27th, you'll be able to create a fresh account to participate in Leagues. This account will be wiped on January 19th and no items can be transferred off of it to a normal account, due to the increased drop rates on this game mode. Certain areas will be instanced, such as the Kourend Catacombs, to allow players to have a bit more space to train and compete. We are also instancing bosses such as Sarachnis to prevent overcrowding. While donator ranks do apply on these accounts, due to the account being locked at the end of the tournament, you will need to put in a request to transfer the total spent to one of your main Alora accounts.

Top Alora cash prizes:

  • PlayStation 5
  • Airpods Pro
  • Logitech G935 Gaming Headset
  • Logitech G502 Gaming Mouse

Top Alora Token prizes:

  • First Twisted bow: 1,000 tokens
  • First to 200m exp in any skill: 1,000 tokens
  • First to obtain a phoenix pet from Wintertodt: 750 tokens
  • First to obtain a boss pet: 750 tokens
  • First to obtain a 3rd age piece: 750 tokens
  • First to complete a Master difficulty task: 500 tokens
  • First to obtain Ranger boots: 250 tokens
  • First to complete a collection log entry: 250 tokens

Even if you don't receive one of the big cash prizes, there are plenty of reasons to play leagues! If you're feeling lucky, try your hand at a specific token prize, such as obtaining a Phoenix pet. You'll also have the ability to spend your points on many different in-game prizes at the end of the tournament, such as:

  • Leagues Trophies
  • Shattered Relic Hunter Outfit
  • Shattered Relics Home Teleport Animation
  • Shattered Relic Weapon Variety Pack
    • These weapon kits can be applied to Abyssal whip, Tentacle whip, Rune crossbow, God books, and Mystic robes.
  • Dwarven Multicannon Ornament Kit
  • Void & Elite Void Ornament Kit

Notes:

  • The rules and prizes are subject to change based on availability.
  • If a cash prize is unavailable in your country, an equivalent prize or amount via PayPal may be substituted.
  • Winners of cash prizes can choose to receive Alora tokens and can receive 50% more by doing so.

We'll have more information on the nitty gritty of this tournament on release day, but this thread should give you a basic outline of what's to come. We hope you guys are just as excited for the start of our second Alora League!

#345963 RuneLite... Coming to Alora?!

Posted by Omicron on 01 April 2020 - 01:01 PM

Ltf7ZH9.png

Hello everyone,

We’ve been working quietly for awhile now on a major project, and today we’re ready to share it with you: RuneLite is coming to Alora! This has been kept under wraps for the past few months, as we wanted to ensure that we were able to meet your expectations before making an announcement. Hundreds of hours of development have gone into this client, and we're now at a point where we can confidently share this news with all of you.

We'd like to highlight why this was an unrealistic task to begin with, and why we decided to focus on it. Initially, the task of making RuneLite compatible with Alora essentially involved rewriting most of the RuneLite client to be compatible with ours. Unlike other OSRS-based private servers which connect to RuneLite right out of the box with minimal changes, the Alora client is unique in that it is quite different than OSRS' client, as it is merged with a high-definition RuneScape client from 2008, which is how we're able to uniquely provide the HD mode. Unfortunately, this made the RuneLite job an extremely daunting task.

Nonetheless, we understand that this feature has been requested time and time again, and many of you have grown accustomed to the features provided by RuneLite, so we made it our priority for the past few months to properly connect most of the plugins with our client. We believe this will change the experience on Alora dramatically, and further cement us as the best option when it comes to RSPS. With our wonderful community and high update frequency, RuneLite is the icing on the cake that will make us stand out even more than we already have.

There is still a decent amount of work to do, so unfortunately we can't provide a guaranteed ETA, but what we can say is that we are working to bring it to you as quickly as possible :)

Without further ado, here are some previews of the functionality that we've already implemented:

We hope that you guys are just as excited as we are about this, and we're looking forward to sharing more details & progress soon :)

Edit: Not an April fools joke btw!

Omicron

Posted by Vape Tricks on 12 January 2020 - 03:01 AM

Hey everyone! With the release of the new achievement diary system, I've taken the time to write this guide for completing it! If there are any better ways to access a location or do a task, please let me know so I can update it. Huge shoutout to @GIM Flex for helping with this so I could get it out soon after the update. Enjoy!

#329347 Development Blog #8: Achievement Diaries, Last Man Standing overhaul, Chamber...

Posted by Omicron on 30 December 2019 - 11:30 PM

Hello everyone,

As we wrap up 2019, we'd like to give you some more insight on what we've got planned for the next little while. These planned updates are tentative and won't follow any sort of schedule, and if OSRS releases some content in between we will likely shift our focus to that before turning our attention back to these updates. Nonetheless, here are a few of the updates we are currently working on and/or have planned:

  • Achievement diaries:
    • We've completely scrapped the current Achievement system and store and have opted to a brand new Achievement diary based on the suggestions submitted by @Mack. This is the first priority in this development blog as we've already made extensive progress on it. You can see the details here:
  • Last Man Standing overhaul:
    • As many of you know, Last Man Standing has been non-functional for awhile. We are working to make the necessary changes to match OSRS's updated version of LMS, which essentially gives you gear to start with upon entering. It also includes a brand new reward shop with some great items that will hopefully make the mini-game more popular (see below).
  • Chambers of Xeric rework:
    • As the first server to have released CoX way back in 2017, we admittedly have cut some corners in the functionality of the raid for the sake of releasing it in the RSPS world as quickly as possible. Since then, aside from bug fixes, we have not made many advancements to match CoX to OSRS's version. We will be focusing our attention on making the raid more dynamic as it is on OSRS, with the map layout being randomly generated each raid to make it more interesting.
    • This will take considerable time as it is essentially redoing the raid from the ground up, but we believe that it is a piece of end-game content which many will appreciate the extra effort being put into.

One of our goals for 2020 is to provide you with previews of future updates more often to allow you to get a general sense of what's to come, so we hope you'll enjoy that :)

Regards,

Omicron & Chad

#328491 3 years of Alora. (My resignation)

Posted by Ultistic on 26 December 2019 - 07:41 AM

For the less unfortunate that can't read or if you're just lazy. I also made a video:

Hello everyone!

Today is quite an unusual and unexpected day for most of you. I am resigning from Community Manager.

Without going into too much detail, I've been going through a ton of shit for about a year now which has put me in a terrible position currently. I will be moving irl later this week to finally focus on myself and will no longer be in the position I am in to be there for the Staff Team and most importantly, the community. I just want to be happy and I hope you guys can understand that!

I started my adventure in July 2016 and before Alora launched, I never once thought we would ever be this big and close of a community. I want to thank ALL of you for an amazing 3 years. I have made some amazing friends during this time and I can only hope we can all continue to be friends once I'm gone. I put everything I could into this Server for 3 years and I hope you guys have had as much fun as I had to watch the Community/Server turn into what it has today. Just because I'm leaving doesn't mean the server is shutting down or anything, so please don't think that. I want Alora and the community to continue to grow and be stronger even without me around. I could go on and on and list probably hundreds of names and shout certain people out, but I have a better chance of my hair growing back in than I do remembering every single person I've come in contact with over the last 3 years.

I will, however, shoutout 1 person, that being Omicron. Thank you for trusting me with an admin position when Alora first started. It was my first time being in that kind of position, as I left his old Server as just a Forum Moderator. I would also like to say thank you for trusting me with the CM rank for 2 years. He has helped me out more than you guys could even imagine. Going from 10 players online at a time to 500+ was a good change of pace for both of us and I wish nothing but the best on his success with Alora while I'm gone. Thank you for everything, Dan.

So with that being said, Once again I would like to say Thank you to EVERYONE that has been involved with Alora from 2016 to today. You guys are what make Alora successful and stay running. I hope you guys have enjoyed everything from the silly yells/broadcasts I do, Streams, Giveaways, Drop parties and the list goes on. I really do hope Alora keeps on growing and stays up for many more years.

I will still be around on discord, but will not be involved with the Staff Team or any CM duties. So if you would like to keep in touch, you can message me there.

I love all of you and thank you so much for all you have done over the past 3 years. You are what kept me logging in nearly every single day. Thank you.

Take care guys, keep being awesome and I hope you all continue to enjoy Alora <3

God is a midget, but my favorite midget <3

#322088 My Resignation

Posted by KP on 21 November 2019 - 04:46 PM

Hello Dads,

As you may have noticed, my time on Alora has come to an end (for now, atleast).
When I started playing the game, my mental health state was at an all time low. I was feeling lost, depressed.. I removed all of my friends from my life and it was as lonely as it gets.
This game allowed me to rebuild myself. My confidence, my smile, everything that's positive was coming back as I played it and enjoyed every single day of it. I met some of the most incredible human beings here, and just because I am no longer a staff member does not mean we need to stop talking.

There is no tinfoil bullshit reason as to why I am leaving, I am not upset with anyone but myself. I am at one of my lowest points when it comes to my mental health state, and I need to find myself again. I need to try new things, entertain myself and find my smile once again so that I can be the KP that fights every single day to put a smile on someone's face, even if it is online. As it stands right now, I am not able to do this every single week. That is why you see me trying new games and new activities IRL and online.

I am not making this post for anyone to feel sorry for me, I am just here to say that these 2 years have been incredible. Alora and the people I've met here saved my life, and I don't want to lose any of you because of this.

I made a post about mental health issues such as depression and anxiety disorders a few months ago (not linking it because I don't want people to think I want any form of attention, thats not what this post is about, or the one I am mentioning ), and that didn't change at all. I am still here for you guys, and hopefully you will be with me for the ride.

If you have any issues or you are struggling mentally, let's help eachother out. Message me on discord, Purple#5940.

Hopefully this is not a "goodbye", it's a "be right back".

I love you all.
~ KP

#318379 [20/10/19] Duel Arena Presets, Client Settings, New Clue Scrolls, Skotizo in...

Posted by Omicron on 21 October 2019 - 02:55 AM

Hotfixes [22/10/19]:

  • Realism mode players can now loot the Wilderness Supply Chests and Bloody chests.
  • Fixed broken clue scroll steps
  • Fixed item drop warnings
  • Fixed overlay minimum value setting
  • Fixed GIM bloody key looting
  • Apron spawns have been fixed.
  • Barbarian fishing Agility/Strength XP fixed. (Wasn't being added)
  • Fixed a bug where some NPCs (Revenants, Basilisk knights, etc) could not be attacked.

Hello everyone,

Today's update brings many different suggestions from you guys, and results from recent polls you've voted on. We've made sure to include a ton of bug fixes and QOL, as well as some new content such as Skotizo in the Catacombs, many new client settings, new clue scrolls, MM2 tunnels and Duel Arena presets. I know that we mentioned that development blogs were going to be posted if the update was going to be longer than a week, but there were many unexpected delays this week that made us want to focus our time fully on working on the actual update itself, and we hope that considering the size of this update, you will not be disappointed :)

  • Bug Fixes:
    • Bryophyta's staff is now tradable.
    • Fixed a bug where Kylie Minnow wouldn’t stop players from fishing if they exceeded 3000 minnows.
    • Fixed a bug where the player needed a noted lava battlestaff to enchant it
    • Fixed an issue where Disciples of Iban would spawn as Scout NPC's.
    • Fixed a bug that required players to have a jade in their inventory to make topaz amulets.
    • Fixed a bug where all storage bags would notify the player that they deposited the incorrect number of items.
      • This bug applied to the looting bag, herb sack, gem sack, bone sack, and seed box.
      • The items were all correctly deposited, it was just the amount shown to the player in the chat box that was inaccurate.
    • Fixed a bug causing the face mask to make the player's head invisible.
    • Fixed a bug with the falador tunnel shortcut.
    • Fixed a bug where players could equip/unequip the falconer/cormorant gloves.
    • Fixed a bug that required players to have 2 untanned black dragon hide instead of the tanned variant to make a black d’hide shield.
    • Added Hespori killcount tracker
    • Gilded D'hide Chaps/Vambs no longer require 40 defence to equip.
    • The white/purple raids light now shines above the chest properly.
    • Fixed an issue where selecting raw/cooked fish in Kingdom of Miscellania would give the opposite type of fish.
    • The Bonecrusher Necklace now acts as a bone crusher if it is in the players’ inventory
      • Note that without the necklace equipped, players will not receive the prayer bonus.
    • Added the defense bonuses to the music cape.
    • Fixed a Kingdom of Miscellania bug where right-click collecting would say you have nothing to collect if you hadn’t yet opened the interface to refresh the coffers.
    • Fixed a Kingdom of Miscellania bug causing players to only get the seed/gem rewards one, instead of based on the number of days they had waiting to be collected.
    • The bug causing pets to randomly disappear and not be able to be re-claimed has (hopefully) been fixed.
    • Added the cutting animation when cutting Aerial Fish.
  • Quality of Life:
    • Players can now right-click trade Elnock Inquisitor in Puro Puro.
    • Added the falador crumbling wall shortcut
    • Updated the glass blowing interface to be the more modern version.
    • Added reclaimable shop warning, which lets player know when the shop is getting full, and that untradeables will be permanently lost if their shop is full and they die.
    • The sound made when the Ava’s effect would take place to save ammo has been removed.
    • Slightly decreased the amount of worms required for solo raids and 2-4 man raids
    • Clue scroll drops will now be announced to the player in the chat-box.
    • Wesley Crusher has been moved next to Zahur due to popular request.
    • Players can now load more of the same type of darts into their blowpipes without first unloading it.
    • Added Digsite pendant teleports:
      • Can be used to teleport to:
        • Digsite
        • Verdant Valley
        • Fossil Island
    • Crystal armor/tools can now be reverted back to seeds by using the right-click option.
      • Players who choose to revert their items will not be refunded their crystal shards used to create the pieces, only the seeds used for them.
    • Added basilisk head to the list of boss heads that can be sacrificed to the dark altar for prayer experience.
    • Noted herbs can be cleaned for 1000 coins each as opposed to 500.
      • Doing so will not provide any Herblore experience.
      • Right clicking “Clean” on Zahur will still only clean the un-noted herbs, so that players do not accidentally clean their noted herbs and end up paying double.
        • Players who wish to clean noted herbs must speak to Zahur, and she will present an option to do so.
    • Added White Apron spawns to Wydin’s Food store and Gerrant’s fishing supplies in Port Sarim.
      • These are required for one of the new clue scroll emote steps.
  • Wilderness changes:
    • Players can no longer destroy any items in the wilderness while in combat with an NPC/Player.
    • Players now have priority when attacking their bounty hunter targets in single combat areas in the wilderness.
      • If a target is in combat with another player or another npc, and the player’s target attacks him while he is in combat, that will take precedence.
  • Kingdom of Miscellania changes:
    • The maximum 14 Tarromin daily herb reward has been replaced with 8 Toadflax.
    • Players now have a chance to get an elite clue scroll when claiming fishing resources.
      • The more days stored you have, the more likely you are to get the clue scroll.
    • Players will now receive 5 of a random seed per day, as opposed to 2, when collecting Herb/Flax resources.
    • Players will no receive up to 10 gems a day, as opposed to 5, based on the number of workers allocated to mining.
  • Makeover mage skin color changes:
    • Players can now change their skin color at the makeover mage, whether it’s a custom skin or a donator skin.
      • Each time a custom skin/donator skin is purchased or set, it will be saved to the players unlocked skins, so they’ll be able to cycle through their unlocked skins at the makeover mage.
    • When opening the makeover mage interface, the skin color you currently have will first be saved to your unlocked skin colors.
      • This means that players(particularly those who bought a custom skin) will not need to have their skin colors re-instated, they’ll instead be automatically added to your unlocked skins.
  • Duel Arena Presets:
    • Players can now save and load presets in the duel arena interface.
      • When loading a preset, it will save upon logout and can be used whenever the player desires.
    • The load last duel preset is also now functional.
      • Players can use this to apply the same settings as the previous duel they were in, however this preset won’t save upon logout.
  • Barbarian fishing changes:
    • Players can now use a knife on any of the leaping fish caught from barbarian fishing for cooking experience.
      • Cutting a leaping fish will provide players with 10 base cooking experience for leaping trout/salmon, and 15 base cooking experience for leaping sturgeon.
      • Cutting a leaping fish will also reward players with fish offcuts, which can be used as bait.
  • The revenant cave teleport scroll now teleports players to the level 40 wilderness entrance, as opposed to the level 17 one.
  • Bounty hunter teleport changes:
    • Players will now have a warning when using the bounty hunter teleporting, which will indicate the wilderness level of the player, and whether or not they are in a multi-combat zone.
  • Looting Bag Changes:
    • Clicking “Open” on the looting bag will not turn it into an open looting bag which will automatically deposit items that are picked up in the wilderness.
      • Clicking “Open” will also open the looting bag without warning, however clicking “settings” will still provide a confirmation warning to open the looting bag.
  • New clue scroll steps:
    • Map clue scrolls:
      • Wilderness Volcano
      • Ardougne zoo
      • Hobgoblin isle
      • Draynor village
      • Outside of Falador
      • Relekka lighthouse
      • Miscellania
      • Ourania
      • Tower of Life
      • Varrock Mine
      • Wizard’s tower
      • Yanille
    • Emote clue scrolls:
      • Catherby emote clue
      • Exam room emote clue
      • Keep Le Faye emote clue
      • Port sarim emote clue
      • Shayzien emote clue
      • Wizard tower emote clue
    • Cryptic clues:
      • These are a brand new type of clue scroll to Alora, in which players must follow the hints to find their next clue.
  • Monkey Madness 2 tunnels:
    • We’ve added the Monkey Madness 2 tunnels to allow players to burst/chin train, and believe this will give a more pronounced use for chinchompas.
      • To access the tunnels, speak to the teleport wizard and navigate to the Monsters section and select Maniacal Monkeys.
      • There are 2 of these tunnels, and they can be accessed by using the rope in either tunnel to move between the two.
  • Pest Control Shop Changes:
    • The elite void robe top and bottom have been removed from the pest control shop.
    • Players can now speak to the Void Knight to upgrade their regular void top/bottom.
      • This will cost 150 pest control points to upgrade each piece.
  • Teleblock changes:
    • Players will now have their Teleblock removed if they kill the player who Teleblocked them.
  • Bond fix:
    • Immortal donators who open bonds in-game will now longer be reset to Master donators.
  • In-game customs link updated.
  • Miscellaneous:
    • Ice gloves are no longer tradable.
    • After defeating the Jungle demon in the Monkey Madness quest, you will now be teleported back to King Narnode.
  • Polled Changes Below:
    • The following changes, which were polled by @God last week, have been implemented:
      • Group Ironman players can now open Bloody chests and Supply chests.
      • Dragon bolts (unenchanted) have been added to the loot tables for both Bloody chests & Supply chests.
      • Fishing experience from Barbarian fishing has been buffed (20%).
      • The rate of obtaining Molch pearls from Aerial fishing has been slightly buffed.
  • Catacomb Skotizo
    • Skotizo can now be spawned in the Catacombs of Kourend.
      • This alternative to the wilderness location gives the same loot minus the ability to obtain wilderness items and high-tier loot.
      • Items EXCLUDED from Catacombs Skotizo:
        • Bloody keys
        • Wilderness emblems
        • Amulet of torture
        • Tormented bracelet
        • Necklace of anguish
        • Rune pouch
      • Skotizo's drop table has been updated to reflect this by displaying the items above in red (denoting that they are wilderness only).
      • Notes:
        • This is a solo fight in an instanced area.
        • Skotizo is easier to fight here, with lower HP than usual.
        • You can still only summon Skotizo once every 12 hours (whether it is in the wilderness or catacombs).
  • Minnow Fishing Changes:
    • Players can now fish more minnows without being interrupted by Kylie Minnow:
      • Regular donators/Players: 3000 minnow
      • Super/Extreme donators: 3250 minnow
      • Legendary donators: 3500 minnow
      • Uber/Master donators: 3750 minnow
      • Immortal donators: 4000 minnow

Website updates:

  • The screen you are shown after logging in (‘You are now signed in, please wait while we transfer you’) has been fixed.
    • Previously, this page was broken and showed a white background on the left side, and the message was not properly centered.
  • Store changes:
    • We’ve cleaned up a few things on the store, including:
      • A better looking ‘sale’ badge on sale items.
      • The ‘Buy Tokens’ button will now glow to show players who are unfamiliar with the store how to buy tokens. After you click it, it will no longer glow while you are on the token purchase page.
    • Bug fix:
      • GIM/Realism players were sometimes having their rank stripped and replaced by a Donator rank, which should no longer occur.
  • Forum changes:
    • Last Username display:
      • Some players who have changed their name would not have their old name show up on their profile (or when they post).
        • This is because the old name had a space in it, but these names will now be shown as intended.
  • Hiscores changes:
    • The Hiscores will no longer show 2 XP less than your total (Eg. Players who have maxed out every skill were showing 4,599,999,998 XP instead of 4,600,000,000).

  • New client settings:
    • Hide Antifire notification:
      • This client setting when toggled on will hide all anti-fire notifications(from the shields or the potions) from appearing in the chat box.
    • Minimum drop warning notifier:
      • Players can now set the minimum value of an item that requires confirmation to drop.
        • If the value of the item is higher than the minimum value set by the player, a confirmation box will appear, which the players will need to confirm before dropping the item.
    • Item Overlay Filters:
      • An option in the settings has been added to configure item overlay settings.
        • Add Filter:
          • Players can add filters of items (by name) to the list, which will specifically hide drops of those items.
            • Players can add a maximum of 100 filters.
        • Remove Filter:
          • Players can remove previously added filters (by name), which will once again cause those items to show up as overlays.
        • Minimum item value:
          • Players can specify a minimum item value for overlays, so any items that are worth less than this minimum value will not show up.
        • Clear filters:
          • We’ve also added an option to clear all the filters immediately, so players do not have to go through all of them manually if they wish to reset their filters.
    • Overlay item pricing:
      • Previously, item values were based on store value (very low). They are now based on GE value to make it more accurate.
    • Overlay item coloring:
      • Previously, only 2 colors were available for item overlays.
      • There are now 5 different colors:

#305755 3 Years of Alora!

Posted by Ultistic on 18 July 2019 - 09:08 AM

Hello everyone!

I've never really made these but I've seen a few of the staff members make them after 1 year of being on the team so I figured I would join them!

My journey here is a bit different than the others so sit back, grab some popcorn and take your socks off.

It all started nearly 5 years ago when I first met Omicron on his old server named "Impact". I was apart of a small community with 20-30 players online at a time. The number of players online didn't bother me at all, I enjoyed the server a ton and I fit right in with everyone. I originally applied for Server Support a month or 2 after playing and to my surprise I was accepted nearly instantly (first time being on a staff team on a RSPS). So this was all new to me and as I moved up in ranks to Forum Moderator, I finally had the chance to meet my dad. We clicked right away and the rest was history, literally. Shortly after becoming Forum Moderator and being in contact with Omicron for a few months, the server shut down sadly and Omicron went to the store and never came back =/.

Nearly a year had gone by and no word from him. So I moved on to Oldschool runescape and kept in contact with some of the other staff members on Impact at the time. A year or so goes by and he finally returned from the store and was very motivated to work on a new project with a few staff members from his old server. We started working on the project around July 18th of 2016 and the launch date for Alora was a few months later on November 4th, 2016.  A lot of time and effort went into that release and the results shocked EVERYONE. We had upwards of 200 players online on day 1! This was a huge change of pace for all of us since we were so used to having 20-30 players at a time online. Omicron trusted me with the Administrator rank for the server release (bad idea :pachaha:  ). Trust me, I made plenty of mistakes when we launched the server initially since I had never held such a high rank on a RSPS. But these mistakes turned me into a bald, old, overweight, decently good CM for Alora.

Jumping ahead to August 2017, I resigned from being an Administrator for a short period of time due to how the current Staff Team was being ran and I didn't agree with everything being done. I enjoyed the break very much but at the same time I hated not being involved with the community as I once was. So 3 months later I was re-promoted to Event Manager since I missed the community and interacting with them. So, I did events for a month or 2 and was later promoted back to Administrator in October after some things changed via the Staff team. Another month has gone by and the day finally came were I was promoted to Community Manager in November  of 2017.

Since that day I have put everything into the Community and the Staff Team. I have watched so MANY players join and leave the Staff Team since day 1. I have made and lost so MANY friends on this server, some of which I had the pleasure of meeting IRL. I am also proud to say that I am the last remaining "OG" staff members on the team along with Omicron.

Without the trust of Omicron since day 1 with the Administrator role, Current/Old Staff Team, and most importantly the community, I would not be in the position I'm in. So a HUGE thank you to everyone who has been here with me on this journey. Here's to another 3 years of being the #1 OSRS Private server!

P.S. - I could of went into a lot more detail with certain memories etc but I figured I would keep it somewhat short and easy to read for people like myself. I am also terrible at shouting out certain people so once again a big thank you to EVERYONE that has been here. ALSO My birthday is tomorrow (the 19th). I'm gonna need 14 Large Meat lovers pizzas and a new wig. <3

#305863 First 2,000 Total Realism Account

Posted by Realitea on 18 July 2019 - 04:01 PM

Hello everyone,

I just thought I'd make a quick post to share my most recent achievement, reaching 2,000 total level on the Realism game mode.

hYM0cFR.png

I'm slowly spending a little less time playing and a little more time being active outdoors and working, so I suspect I will be overtaken soon enough. @I IZ Realz and @Realism mode are both excellent, efficient players so it's only a matter of time.

It's been great so far, I've held the position of #1 on the High Scores since around 300 total level and hope that the last 277 are just as fun (should I choose to pursue that goal).

Thanks for your time, see you in game :D

#304335 Realitea's Beginners Guide to Realism

Posted by Realitea on 09 July 2019 - 11:32 AM

Hi there,

I regularly see new players unsure of where to start on their Realism adventure. Really there's no right answer to this, however I thought I would write a guide that gives some direction for those who want to pursue the Slayer/Combat path rather than skilling. The reason for this is that skilling is, for the most part, not really too different from other game modes - the route to take for it is also far more diverse.

So without further ado...

The Beginning

If you've not made an account on Alora before then you should be given a starter pack which will include a few coins and basic equipment - if this is the case then I would skip forward to heading to the ::shops (in game command).

If you're starting with nothing then type in ::thieve for a good way to start making some money. Thieve from the stalls and sell what you get to Ali Morrisane until you have around 20-30k.

a5BTAwa.png

Once you've thieved some cash (or if you already had some from the start) head to ::shops. I'd recommend you have a look around what all the shops sell, it's different to other game modes so even if you're familiar with Alora you might find something suddenly missing.

QRNZjvK.png

For now I would head to Bob to pick up some basic equipment such as an Axe, a Pickaxe, a Hammer, and a Tinderbox.

You'll also want to head to Aubury for some Magic supplies. Buy the Magic Robe, Magic Amulet, Staff of Air, and a good lot of Mind Runes (start with around 1k).

The next thing will be to get a Tome of Fire from the Achievement shop. This item will be invaluable - not only will it provide you with an unlimited source of Fire runes, it will also increase the damage of Fire spells by 50%. It can be purchased from the Achievement Shop for 60 points, an amazing price for such a key item.

Start racking up some Achievement Points. Have a look at any that appeal to you, I recommend a lot of the earlier ones such as "Chop Chop", "The Caveman", and "The Resurrected". I'd also recommend getting 13 Magic for Fire Strike while doing "Manslaughter".

Click here for an excellent guide to Achievements.

Once you have your Tome of Fire it's time to get 43 Prayer. In my opinion the best route for this is to kill Green Dragons on a Wilderness Slayer task. Head to the Wilderness Slayer Master to the East of ::thieve and take an assignment. If it's not Green Dragons you can simply cancel it by Right Clicking her, then take a new assignment. Cancelling tasks is free throughout the earlier levels so you can really take advantage of this.

jhjgyOi.png

Head to the Green Dragon location of your choosing. My preference is ::grave and then heading North, though obviously there's the normal options. Just make sure you can safe spot them and start killing them with Magic. The Green Dragonhide should fetch a fair price for a new player and the bones will be excellent experience. It should also be good Magic and Slayer experience - killing many birds with a single stone.

Once you've finished your first task it's time to get Protection Prayers using the Wilderness Chaos Altar. I'd recommend using this excellent guide.

As you can see, we have access to an Altar in just level 13 Wilderness which is far safer - you can also unnote the bones on the Elder Chaos Druids for a small fee (though watch out, they're aggressive).

This method should get you in to the game with a little starting money, some Slayer levels, some Magic levels, and of course Protection Prayers. From here I would say the game really opens up but I'd like to make some points of consideration as you progress your character.

Equipment

There's lots of equipment you'll want to pick up as you go, and due to the low experience rates you'll almost certainly want to get it as soon as you can. Here's the really key pieces of gear you'll want to go for:

Elite Void

You'll want this as soon as you have 42 in all combat stats (22 Prayer) - it's a giant boost to Melee, Ranged, and Magic depending on what helm you're using and will remain relevant well in to end game content such as Raiding. You can get started by heading to ::pc.

For a full guide to Pest Control click here.

Realism Rapier

A unique weapon to Realism players, it has a required Attack level of 50 and provides stats slightly better than a Dragon Scimitar. It costs 500k from Paul in the hut to the West of Edge bank and is well worth every penny. It'll remain the best Strength training weapon until you get something like a Saradomin Sword.

Xl1O6bl.png

Barrows Gloves

Another very key piece of equipment. The fight isn't easy and will require you to be a reasonably high level, however if you're clever it can be done surprisingly early. I managed to do it around level 65 combat using Entangle to farcast most of the bosses.

As with most things, someone has already written a basic guide on the ins and outs of completing Recipe for Disaster. Click here to take a look.

Dragon Defender

Another very key piece of equipment which will be invaluable for a long long time. You can get it for a few hundred Vote Points however it's not too inefficient to earn yourself so I would recommend keeping those points for Crystal Chests and earning it yourself.

You don't need to have a total Attack and Strength level of 130 so I would recommend at least getting a Rune defender as soon as you can equip it - it'll help a bunch with the leveling speed and can be purchased from Shanomi in the Armour Animator room for 400 Warrior Guild Tokens.

AOWuubT.png

Once you have the Rune Defender you can start farming for the Dragon Defender from the Cyclops upstairs. You'll have a 50% chance for the defender drop to be Rune instead of Dragon so don't panic if that happens.

A more detailed explanation of the Dragon Defender grind can be found here.

Neitznot Helm

I wouldn't say it's a high priority piece as you'll normally either be using Void or a Black Mask/Slayer Helm, but there are still times where you might want to use it. It can be earned fairly easily by completing Lunar Diplomacy which at first glance seems like it would be tough as you can't use Prayer, however you can activate Prayer beforehand and it will not disable it. Bring a few prayer potions if you're a low level and you will have no problem at all.

Click here for a more detailed guide that also provides an alternative to the Prayer trick.

Additional Notable Guides

I could go on forever about all the intricacies of each skill and the best way to train them, but to save us both time I wanted to end by just providing a condensed list of some of the most helpful skill guides for those who might not want to fish their way through the forums themselves.

Obtaining a Fire Cape

Obtaining an Infernal Cape - if you're better than me

Herblore Guide - Intended for Ironmen, however as a new player you'll probably find it's more affordable to gather things yourself

Runecrafting Guide - As you can only buy Mind Runes from the NPCs as a Realism player it can be very worth while to make some runes yourself.

Slayer Guide - An incredibly detailed guide to all aspects of Slayer. Can't recommend this enough if you're unfamiliar with the skill.

These are just a few that I'd recommend, there's always excellent new guides coming out so if you're ever unsure I'd recommend heading to https://www.alora.io...forum/9-guides/

You'll get a far more complete and detailed response than you can find in game, as well as being able to return to it whenever you need to.

I'd like to add a Money Making section to this guide in the future, with some recommended levels for each method. Keep an eye out if that interests you.

Please feel free to provide any feedback on this guide, I'm more than happy to update it. Also shout if there's any errors - I'm a little careless so there's probably one or two.

Hope this helps someone.

#299834 Hello, I'm Realitea

Posted by Realitea on 10 June 2019 - 01:26 PM

Hi there,

I'm Realitea and I'm currently the rank one total Realism player.

I don't normally bother with introduction threads but there's been some mis-information about me over the past few days so I thought I would share some information about who I am (and who I am not). So let's start with a few things I am not:

  • I am not Kharyrll
  • I am not Josh's Brother
  • I am not 3 Asian people sharing an account
  • I am not smoking meth
  • I am not entering the $1500 tournament

And a few things I am:

  • I am new to Alora, I started playing a few days before KotS 3 where I placed second.
  • I am enjoying the new game mode very much
  • I am hoping to get the first 1800 total achievement (but we will see, I have a few things on over the next week).
  • I am British and I do like tea.

Feel free to message me in game, I'm usually pretty friendly and as I'm new I could always use a new friend :)

#299509 Achieved 4.6b experience as an Ironman!

Posted by Steel Nogan on 08 June 2019 - 03:36 PM

One of my biggest goals since forever was getting 4.6b experience on my ironman account, been working on it for so long but to be honest never thought i'd be able to do it.
Let's just say one of the reasons why I made it was the amazing friends, clan, and community i found in Alora, especially in ICE.
Alora is the only server I stuck with. Props to Omicron for the amazing work he has been doing and the countless hours he's put in just so he can keep us busy and entertained! Shout out to the awesome staff team for tirelessly working to keep the server safe.

I'd like to thank all of my friends, the list is WAY too long and I don't want to forget anyone. lol
YOU know who you are!

I've created this account on 4th of January 2018 and i managed to get max exp on it with 72 days and 14 hours of playtime, becoming the 3rd ironman to ever achieve 4.6b experience.
Some must be wondering if I'm done, and my answer is simply no! Still have to grind a lot of raids items and lets hope my rng will finally change. (I could use some luck)

Thanks to everyone who showed up on the max party! <3
