#395799 New rule regarding yell/public areas

Posted by Classic on 28 April 2021 - 01:35 PM

I mean, there's not even a rule needed for this. Just proper actions by the staff team. Thanks.

I mean, there's not even a rule needed for this. Just proper actions by the staff team. Thanks.

Proper actions by the staff team have been taken and the player has been dealt with.

As for this suggestion, I don't really see a point in it as it would fall under rule 1.a

1. Flaming, Disrespect, Harassment, and Inappropriate Content

Within Alora, we seat a culturally diverse community. Communities contain different races, beliefs, ethics, sexual orientations, etc. It is vital that we preserve and protect each culture and that we ensure equality throughout Alora as a whole. The denigration or defamation of a member will not be tolerated. First offenders will receive a 24-hour mute, followed by a 48-hour mute, increasing to a 7-day mute, a 14-day mute, and finally, a permanent mute.

• a. The use of inappropriate, slanderous, and/or disrespectful language towards another’s race, belief system, mental health, ethics, or sexual orientation to personally attack an individual or group will not be tolerated. Although we have an effective ignore system, we expect our members to be courteous towards one another.

and as you can see we have rules to follow ourselves when it comes to punishing players accordingly. We simply do not just mute someone permanently just because they said something once. we understand that it causes pain to some players but we follow strict rules while punishing players. This player who was muted for what happened in yell earlier today has been dealt with (can not go into details as it would be something we can not do as staff members). If its a players first offence they will recieve a 24hr mute, 2nd offence 48hr mute etc etc until it becomes a perm mute / ip mute. We understand that players do not like seeing these sort of things and we do what we can to enforce it and make sure it doesn't happen but unfortunately its the internet and there will always be those kids who decide to say things such as what transpired today on yell.

Counter suggestion in my opinion is completely removing yell in general that way you never have to deal with someone being offensive towards you or other players.

#395793 New rule regarding yell/public areas

First off, Im a bit sad that isnt even a rule yet.

So today i witnessed some idiot in yell.

Scenario being: 1 Guy says x another guy doesnt agree and thinks he is funny and says "Get cancer".

With all respect for freedom of speech and trolling around. I think that should be an insta perma mute. Together with death threaths, that shouldn't even be a warning. Most of us are at an age where we either know someone who faced that disease, or atleast are mature enough to understand that shit is disgusting. There is some casual toxicity as "Aftershitter" "Paragoons" and so on, which i can understand in the spirit of the game and building some community "drama" and joking around. The previous however is crossing a certain line.

So here is my proposal:

You want to go full braindead and say "Get cancer", you instantly get a perma mute. No discussion, no bargaining, just straight up: Bam enjoy perma mute.

And best thing about this is, it wont even require extra code. You get caught saying disgusting shit like that. Someone screens it, reports it. Or even post it in discord: Support sees it = insta mute, no need for explinations or any of that shit.

Albeit after some long breaks, today I got the golden completionist monkey. Going forward I'll be working to complete the corp beast and raids 1 & 2 collection logs. :Hackermans:

#392102 Increase mass raid size from 20 to 40

Posted by 25 on 13 March 2021 - 06:31 AM

What is your suggestion?: Increase the amount of players that are able to join a COX raid from 20 to 40.

Is this in OSRS?: Yes.  https://oldschool.ru...n be in a raid. Even though it's 100, i believe 40 would be fair for the size of Alora.

Has this suggestion been accepted already?: Not sure

How would this benefit Alora?: This mainly benefits clans within Alora. Aftermath as a clan normally does Mass COX(20 man raid) every 2 weeks or so and we potentially have the ability to do 30-40 man raids.

Speaking to higher ups in ICE, we discussed the possibilities carrying huge COX raids and hopefully the same with Paragon in the future but restricted by only allowing 20 in at one time.

Another benefit could be to introduce this as an event during COX bonus for Alora players within or without clans.

#395314 good bye Alora

Posted by Shamrock on 22 April 2021 - 12:12 PM

I went back & forth on making this topic, It's time for me to say goodbye for now. The journey I have had & people I have had the pleasurer to meet I will always remain fond of those memories good & bad. I am glad to see player still remain to experience the true wonders Alora has to offer & community that I think at it's base, players stay here for the sense of  connection & social interaction. I hope the golden age can be re-created in the future & players get to experience the true potential Alora hold's. I am very thankful for Alora it defiantly got me through some hard times an escape.. that helped me more than I could possibly put into word's. a period of time that I lost the agility to physically walk and pain I would not wish on anyone. thankfully through hard work that has changed & well with this new found inspiration, I have come to the conclusion its time to move on. I truly want to thank ICE clan & countless friends I have made in my time on this amazing world we have all created together    & most of all A MASSIVE THANKS TO DAN & HIS BROTHER <3  <3  <3 , you guys created something very special & for that I am very grateful I truly wish all of you the best & truly appreciate the small things in life ;)  <3

P.S ICE #1 clan - without question  :P

Agree with all of this apart from the drop rate changes since it's based on the points at the moment, but also with the olm head turning it should stop things like the crystals and poison when you're running head.

@Omicron

The fixes/changes are all great and make a lot of sense except for the last one. The CoX reward system is based on points, not team size, so if solo’s want to grind and do more work for a better chance at a reward, then it should be allowed, as each raid will take longer to do. If larger teams would like a better chance at a reward, they can right click the entrance to the chambers and set the layout to a larger one so that the team can farm more points by the end of the raid, but otherwise your last suggestion would require adding artificial boosts for larger teams which isn’t something we’re willing to do, since it would punish smaller teams even though their raids take longer/require more effort. I’m going to leave this suggestion open for now since it’s still new and we won’t be able to squeeze it in this update, but the changes will most likely be accepted as they would only improve the experience for all players.

Would you be willing to elaborate more on the CoX reward system? A common question asked by many is do points matter/how much do they matter? I think having some information released by yourself on this will really help the community better choose what room size/layout to scout for as well as the benefits of using a raid booster to earn more points. There have been many updates to CoX over time which is great, but I have not been able to find much information posted on how the reward system works in relevance with points.

i do agree with most of the things you said, especially with the skeletal mystic part. they are way to op.

i am mostly a solo player in cox, but i wouldnt mind bringing back the team cox if they worth doing.

and as you said, atm solo is the best way to run it, so it would need a great bonus rate or idk what to worth doing in team

i will wait for more comments on your topic and see how it goes :)

Support on everything you mentioned in this topic. Especially the last one, there should be an incentive to do team cox.

I will never be against COX reworks. Although I am against the increased rates for party raids. Though I'm not against incentive to party with clanmates and friends. As a solo player, I think I speak for a lot of the community that a lot of people do prefer solo gameplay and activities. Since you don't need to rely on others to properly perform well, etc. Skeletal Mages always felt like an annoyance to me, and lately they have felt very powerful and wouldn't mind them being looked at. I Support most of these changes. And I am always down for a raid rework any time it's brought up.
