#404672 MvP ToB

Posted by Omicron on 29 July 2021 - 01:31 PM

Best advice coming from a staff member in 2021.

No, MvP does have nothing to do with a raid booster.

MvP is about who contributed the most within the raid. So a raid booster having influence on that doesn't make any sense. If you are still trying to talk yourself out of this you are delusional.

If it doesn't get added like it's supposed to, why add this feature at all?

In CoX, points are awarded based on certain actions (damaging monsters, fishing, creating potions, cooking, building storage units, etc). In ToB, points are only ever gained from damaging enemies. Either way, the purpose of using Raid boosters is to boost your points within a raid for a better chance at loot, and since ToB has the MVP system, there is a slight advantage over your team mates if you’re using a booster. With that being said, there was always a slight advantage over other players if you’re using a booster — that has been the point of boosters since the beginning.

However, our MVP system is nowhere near as advantageous as OSRS’. On OSRS, only one player has a chance at a rare reward, so it is crucial that you get MVP. On Alora, we’ve made it so that all players have a chance at rare loot, with the MVP having a slightly higher chance.

Gold smithing gauntlets. Ice gloves, Seed pod... Are those cosmetics to you? I got so many loyality points where I don't know what to do with. Would love to see more items to able to buy with such as; Silver Sickle, Shayzien armour etc.

Ow right I forgot about those  :lol: My apologies, I do understand that there should be more to it, but adding votes books and boosters shouldn't be an option. Silver Sickle and shayzien armour sounds much more realistic :)

#398548 Construction Suggestions —COMMENT PLEASE—

Posted by Real Alan on 28 May 2021 - 06:45 PM

What is your suggestion?:

1. Allow players to contact Amy for assignments with the level 67 NPC contact lunar spell
This would make the mahogany homes experience a whole lot more enjoyable, since you won't need to constantly teleport back to Falador after every task.

2. Have the plank sack automatically withdraw planks like the rune pouch
The plank sack can store up to 28 additional planks and costs 350 Carpenter points. When doing contracts, it would be a nice quality of life feature to have planks consumed directly from the sack once there are no more planks in your inventory. Yes, players can just manually withdraw planks, but since players already have steel bars, a hammer, and a saw in their inventory, they're always left with a couple straggler planks in the sack.

3. Add priff portal to the Poh house teleports list

4. Have the golden hammer boost house pet rate while doing mahogany homes
The golden hammer needs to do its f***ing job! Am I right? It costs 120 tokens after all!

It's been 7 months since the marble incense burners bug was patched (now requiring 2 marble blocks instead of 2 bolts of cloth).
The construction meta has shifted from in-house construction to mahogany homes.
Since then, we have had 6 house pet drops. 0 in the last 3 months.

5. Give players a roll at house pet after completion of each contract
Herbiboar -> herbi

Windertodt -> phoenix
Tempoross -> tiny tempor
Treasure trails -> baby mimic? (since bloodhound is in vote shop)
Mahogany homes -> house pet?
It just makes more sense this way. Most players I've talked to aren't even sure if house pet is actually obtainable from mahogany homes.

6. Allow players to trade in long/curved bones for a chance at house pet
Players in yell will start to say “good luck” instead of “Oof nice pet bro”—kind of like unsired drops if you get my drift
(@Patta suggested before)

7. Give donors a boost for Amy’s contract points
At 5 points per contract, it would take about 400 contracts for full carpenter.
400 contracts * ( 20 planks / contract) * (15,000 gp / plank) = ~120 m gold sink
400 contracts * (1 hour / 40 contracts) = ~10 hours of mahogany homes

Maby this can be a solution ?

Pretty sure we don't get points from drinking pots like ovls/brews.
If this gets added it might balance out the points for average team raid/solo raid more compared to OSRS.

https://gyazo.com/75...a5995873428aec1

Alora Solo raid point average is from 5k-8k points per solo raid, i remember in OSRS getting around 25k per raid.(duopoints around 55k-70k)

100% support. Team raids are more enjoyable imo, and this will make them actually worth doing. Would prefer them to be slightly harder and more rewarding like it is on OSRS.

100% Support - there's no good reason scaled raids/team raids should give very identical amounts of points to solos.
