#312600 POH Telescope

What is your suggestion?:

I am suggesting that the Mahogany telescope in your POH, which you can build in your observatory room with a requirement of 85 Construction, allows you to get either a exact or estimated time till when the next Shooting star will strike down. I'm leaning more for a estimated time, exact seems too op. This feature was in a old old server I played and thought it was super unique and useful for doing star runs, especially for a ironman. 

 

Is this in OSRS?:

The telescope is, not sure about the time telling of when star drops.

 

Has this suggestion been accepted already?:

No.

 

How would this benefit Alora?:

I feel this will benefit Alora in a few ways. One being just letting players have self awareness of when the next star will touch down, yes it notifies you in the chat box ("The next star will drop in X amount of hours."). Players just logging in have no idea when the next star drop is. This will be super beneficial to those grinding some mining levels or simply just doing stars for supplies because players that aren't too familiar with the star, like myself can compete for that first toucher XP!! I feel this can bring more activity too the star drops as well. This feature will allow players to get timings down of stars such as farm runs and will start to do these runs hourly as the stars drop.

What is your suggestion?:

My suggestion is having the ability to add players as a friend from the trading post as you can via clan chats. This feature can just fall under the 'Seller' section of the trading post, allowing players to right click to add that player selling a item to negotiate prices.

No.

 

Has this suggestion been accepted already?:

Don't believe so.

 

How would this benefit Alora?:

Personally I hate having to memorize some funky name and or type it down in my chat box and then say it out loud trying to type a players name in correctly. I'm sure a lot of other players can agree with me. If this was added it would more be a convenience when trying to purchase items with less of a head ache trying to get in contact with the player. 

 

I hope to see something along these lines added! Leave some of your thoughts below :)

The ground item overlay is fine as is, it's expected to get messy if you are killing multiple mobs at a time, such as abyssal demons.

I disagree mr moral tooth, would be nice if we can get an option to hide certain drops such as bones/ashes etc.. piles up

The completonist has all best in slot combat capes in one as well as the regular max cape perks(including all skillcape effects.) This makes me wanna support what @Mantis said. I’d rather see both perks being implemented on the completionist cape rather than the thieving skillcape. People may think different, but I do think that Thieving is pretty much a common skill to get 99, even on Realism mode.

The max cape and thieving cape perk is nice for thieving seeds but that’s about it. It does kinda suck that you can’t get the bonus exp and enhance chance of success but I think having the 2 together after only getting level 99 is a bit much.

I hope you don't take this the wrong way. Any player who is playing an Ironman as a "Skiller" Ironman is putting those limitations on themselves so it should come with the restrictions of doing so. Your proposed idea takes away value of these items by making them obtainable through a much safer way even if at a low rate. I personally wouldn't mind if the implings had rune pickaxe or axe added to the drop table but I believe adding dragon equipment and the smoldering stone is a little too much. Also not having the required level just means you must have the item in your inventory so you lose one inventory space just like in old school and I don't think straying from that is a good idea. I'm sorry. No Support.

The Realism sword is still a thing! I appreciate you guys being patient while we determine what the best speed/bonuses for the sword would be. We are aiming to include it in the update later this week.

@Omicron does the arclight spec stack like osrs so we can effectively reduce corp's att and str to 0 after 20ish specs so we only need to pray mage and not be hit?


It does stack for defence, but not for strength/attack reduction at the moment. I'll be fixing that in the next update as well.

Fair enough. I just think it would extend the fights a little too long.  Although that may not be a bad thing, since most of castle wars right now is defense.  It would definitely make it easier to capture flags.  I think it would be easier to test once we get the bugs patched.  

and I change my stance to agree with you on the second point.  As long as you can't rejoin on the opposing team it would be neat to at least be able to join maybe 0-6 minutes late or so.  I did notice someone got disconnected from the game earlier and couldn't rejoin which sucks.

the bandages heal like 9 damage and when in max gear literally any attack style can hit like 35+ so you should be able to consume them much faster than regular pace. 

 

Also joining late could be seperate from 're-joining' a game after you were already in it. If you were already in the game then you should have to wait until the next one starts.

Support on #2(maybe 1.5x faster) & #3.

 

Disagree with #1 though.  People would end up leaving to try and switch teams.  Also I think you should have to contribute the entire match to get tickets anyway.

I didn't see a thread already on this, so I wanted to post a few of the things I noticed when playing.

 

 

 

1) I don't believe currently you can join a game after it has started.

 

(Not sure of the oldschool specifics here, along the lines of being able to join until the game is half way over?) 

 

 

 

2) Fixing bandages to consume at a faster rate

 

(certainly you should be able to consume bandages faster than what is in game. Currently it seems like eating food normally, I was thinking they should be 2-3x faster? Not sure)

 

 

 

3) Displaying Kills/deaths after the game

 

- On this its really just a gut feeling that it did this on oldschool, someone could confirm for me.

 

 

I've only played a handful of castle-wars games so I'll add anything else I see in the future.

 

 

Edit 6/24: 

 

 

4) being able to attack players up on the castle walls from on ground level with mage/range

[23/6/19] Hotfixes:

  • Castle Wars changes:
    • God's blessing timer from playing Castle Wars is now stackable.
    • Time before game starts increased from 90 seconds to 120.
    • In the waiting room, the "Time left in current game" was wrong and now shows the correct time.
    • You can no longer teleport out of the waiting room (You can leave through the portal).
    • Upon dying, autocast will no longer be cancelled.
    • Helmets and capes can no longer be worn inside.
    • A bug with staircases which kept you in the game after it ended has been fixed.
    • A game announcement will now be sent to players to announce that another Castle Wars game is starting in 2 minutes.
  • Voting changes:
    • Due to some vote websites not always working correctly, especially, lately, we've changed the required # of votes to 3/5.
    • Gem bag has been added to the Vote shop as intended (500 points).

Imo the rule should not be extended to money-making. I could train woodcutting on one account and kill zulrah on another, if i then sell the magic logs would that count as multilogging money-making or would it be the case that on one acc I was making money through PvM and on the other acc I was skilling?

 

Further extensions of the rules/restrictions just makes it harder to implement the rules consistently. Plus I don't think there's a problem if you want to make money on two accounts. You put more effort in so you get more rewards out! :)
