I guess not so much skipping the content - but I see that view. Moreso, if you do WT FMing to 200m and you're missing a piece of pyro because of RNG it would be nice to have a boosted rate to finish the set and avoid doing countless more hours when you could put it into other things. Taking the same viewpoint on skilling pets TBH.  

I feel like the issue is that pyromancer set is a lot rarer than it's supposed to be, e.g most people hit 99/200m without making use of the set.

So it was updated to be more common, would be cool I think.
