The community is pretty clear so far on the voting process, doing these meaningless punishments discourages players from interacting with the forums if yall are hall monitoring genuine non issues

You're suggesting for us to be lenient on the "support" spam, and then you're telling us to enforce the rule by punishing people for saying "no support" as well, and now you're telling me this.

 

Also, the word "interacting" is doing very heavy lifting here.

If it's that much effort to type a few words on why you support the suggestion, then it's best you refrain from commenting and simply leave a like on the topic to show your support.

No one's ever said that yelling the stuff you said is a requirement, however, since staff members can be found at ::staff for help, regular players have to let others know in alternative ways that they're available to answer questions, hence the yells. It also helps us higher ups spot people that are showing an interest in helping players and would like to become staff members.

Personally, I don't see an issue with players yelling that stuff, staff members are not available around the clock so it's nice to get some assistance from the community.

Hi all,
First of all, we fully understand your frustration during the past week and appreciate your patience.
To provide a little context, usually when we get pms about lag, it’s usually on the players end, as the majority of the server isn’t lagging at all, so we just let the player know that it’s on their end and to try restart pc and router. After a few days of several messages from a few players, we messaged omicron to look into it, and we were told to wait a little as the issue is on the hosts end, rather than ours, so the best course of action here was to wait to see if the host resolves the issue. Fast forward to today and we can see that many of you are still experiencing the issue, so this problem is top priority for us to solve, which Omicron is doing as we speak.

Regarding the discord mutes, a few players were constantly tagging the staff team on discord, asking us the fix the lag, even after they were told there was nothing the staff team could do and it was passed on to Omicron. All of the mutes were reverted within an hour, and one player was banned from the discord server after harassing a staff member in private messages with racial slurs.

Once again, I’d like to reiterate that we really appreciate your patience, and it should be resolved soon, but can we try and keep things civil going forward.

-while i agree revenants are nice, majority of players will avoid wilderness content, i dont think runes should be locked to that.

-caskets from slayer come come in as fast as you burn runes, especially endgame content

-2 hrs alching on a rsps seems kinda wild, id rather spend time playing the game

-crystal keys from vote books is probably the least effective way to spend vote points when you have sherlock notes and blood runes there

 

I'm not saying you're wrong in the different options in money making though, what I'm saying is runes shouldn't cost this much to begin with

If they're avoiding wilderness content, then it's their loss at the end of the day. The option is there.

Melee slayer is entirely possible, obviously a little slower, but majority of players do slayer this way, and you can make a few mil per task with the ensouled heads & caskets.

You don't have to stand still and alch. You can do plenty of activities while afking, such as agility.

Fair enough, was simply an option.

Would be great to post on Alora's anniversary in November.

Wouldn't make sense to update the dragon claws to the bounty hunter version.

I wouldn't mind if the claw cosmetic reward from combat achievements got removed and we added all of the bounty hunter kits though.

Such an amazing idea, I am fully supporting this suggestion.

no support. so many good custom suggestions that will positiviely affect large amounts of players get declined because the same people use the same 0 effort argument of "its not in runescape so it cant be on alora". the same mindset i shall apply here. the suggestion will affect such a small number of players its not worth the time of the effort to even code into the game. also its not on runescape therefore it shouldnt be on alora as you strive to be as close to osrs like as possible.

That argument doesn't make any sense, if you remove the base game modes(ironman, hc, uim), every game mode to ever release on Alora with the exception of hcgim, wasn't on Runescape when it came to Alora. So I hope you're able to see past this particular mindset for this suggestion.

 

Regarding your second statement, we've had many suggestions over the years make their way to Alora that "affect such a small number of players". I've already mentioned it in an earlier reply, but there's very little time and effort that has to be put in to release this game mode. We already have UIM and HCGIM, so it's simple copy paste stuff.

Tormented demon pet has scarred me for life, so I'm saying no support to this.

We are glad to announce something that we've rarely done on Alora, and that is release a brand new rank, Respected.

 

The Respected role is a prestigious rank given to carefully selected members of our community that have contributed significantly to shape Alora into what it is today.

These players have went out of their way to make Alora a better place, whether that be through content creation, accomplishing impressive feats, moderation or community interaction, and we would like to reward these players with a highly exclusive rank as a way of saying thank you.

 

The rank has no distinct requirements, but a multitude of criteria will be considered by the administrative team before a player is selected.

 

Over the next few weeks, we will be posting to this thread groups of players that we have carefully discussed and selected to receive this rank, as well as a short description on how they've contributed.

 

 

First wave of Respected members

@Blank

Alora's first Community Manager, responsible for laying the foundation for Alora's success. Many of Blanks ideas have survived to this day that the staff team use.

 

@Lowkey

Alora's second, and longest serving Community Manager. Part of Alora since before its inception. Took over the role of Community Manager and excelled at it for several years, all while entertaining the community with his iconic livestreams.

 

@Moe

Do we even need to explain this inclusion? Without a doubt Alora's most respected member, bringing unmatched energy every time he logs in.

 

@uTorrent

Alora's first Event Manager, the brains behind many of the events that we still host to this day.

 

@Elsa

One of Alora's very first players, with a registration date four(!) months before release, and still sticking around a decade later. It would be a struggle to find a player that has a negative word to say.

 

@Phanny phart

One of Alora's most dedicated players ever and within touching distance of achieving Alora's most incredible accomplishment; max experience on realism mode. And this is not even mentioning how helpful he is to new realism players.

 

@mochiii, @EIMCastiOnix & @Miq

Not many players can say they have completed most content and gathered the very best items along the way, but these three can. Occupying the top 3 on the hiscores for collection log slots completed respectively, they have shown immense dedication to the game over the years.

 

@GIM Hellish

For those that have been around for a while, you'll know what impact Hellish has had on the server. The list goes on and on, from bringing the community together as an event manager, to keeping the server in order as an administrator, to several impactful stints as a staff member, and last but not least being one of the owners of the longest-standing clan in the game, there's not much that has to be said.

 

Second wave of Respected members

@Sassafras

If you think of the Ultimate Ironman game mode, one player springs to mind. Sassafras has been playing the game mode for the majority of its lifespan, being one of a select few to achieve max experience on UIM. Other notable contributions include helping out with staff duties as a Global moderator, and giving a helping hand with clans.

 

@Sagacious

One of the most dedicated players of recent times. One look at his account tells you everything you need to know. Max experience, rank 3 in collection log slots, over 5000 completed raids, tens of thousands of boss kills, the list goes on. You may also have come across a post or two of his, being one of our most active users on forums.

@Dante

Also known as Xuf, for those that don't know him - was an administrator that contributed greatly to the staff team. Those that interacted with him in the past will have nothing but fond memories of his humour and larger than life personality.

 

@Adex

Adex is a longtime Alora player that most new players have never heard of, but the older community know him very well. He contributed with various staff duties as an Administrator, and to top it all of, he was the first player to achieve max experience on two separate accounts, which just shows the immense dedication Adex had on Alora.

 

@Dumbshit

If you've browsed our forums over the years, there's a chance you came across Dumbshit's incredible work. He has contributed greatly in making the forums visually pleasing for the community. Some of his work includes the redesign of our userbars, community award images, and update post graphics. 

 

@God

Also known as Josh, was a long time staff member, whose work back in the days was crucial in maintaining a positive environment and active community in Alora. During his time, the content and action in the wilderness was at its peak, and many players may remember him from the Juggernaut event.

 

@Noobair

One of the most dedicated players on Alora, he is most known for being the first player to achieve max experience on an elite ironman account. Many players since then have been inspired by Noobair.

 

@real beer

One of the longest standing Realism players, Real Beer is known for being a leading role model in the realism community, going out of his way to help any player get involved in the game mode.
