#65375 Dragon Claws?

Posted by Zab on 28 March 2017 - 01:45 PM

I like to think of Dragon Claws as an old man, once a legend who's pked a 1000 men at once but now can't even kill a fly.

I support.

#65361 Instanced bosses (GWD&DKS)

Posted by Zab on 28 March 2017 - 12:47 PM

I've actually suggested this exact same idea on another suggestion thread about making Godwars Dungeons Instanced:

How about ontop of instancing, decrease the drop rates for GWD Bosses/Minions and add a fee of maybe 100k/min to stay inside? So click on the door, an option appears and you choose how many coins you want to put in, could be 100k/min so if you put 1m that's 10minutes. Once inside a timer appears and goes down for as long as you are inside the room. Leaving pauses the timer and you can resume by going back inside. Also you can stack payments so perhaps you pay 1m first, then decide that's not enough so you put in 5m more, totalling 6m which equals 1 hour.

Or have it so you pay for how many times the GWD Boss appears. For example, the minimum fee to enter is 200k which is 1 kill, so if you pay 1m to enter Bandos, then Bandos will appear 5 times (this includes his initial spawn when you enter). 200k x 5 = 1m.

You can even make it so each GWD Boss has different prices as each one may be harder/have more valued drops.

Literally just throwing ideas out there so yeah.

I support adding a fee to enter an instanced boss lair.

#64204 Clan Tags

Posted by Zab on 23 March 2017 - 09:58 PM

I feel like if this happens it should be more pricey.

5-10m is pretty simple for most people, there should also be a certain amount of time played before being able to create a clan. Now, anyone can join it of course, just the person who is to create the clan must have a certain amount of time played.

Thank you for the feedback! I agree, 5-10m is nothing now that I think about it lmao. Also considering it'll be adding a special 3-letter Clan Tag beside Players names, it should definitely be higher to make sure these Clan Tags are official. Depending on how many people are in said Clan, this would mean hundreds of people would suddenly have special 3-letter tags beside their names. I'm thinking maybe perhaps 50-100m would be high enough. This would put more sentimental value onto these Clan Tags and people will definitely want to choose more wisely. I also agree with the playtime requirement, I think it's a good idea. I'll add to the post and credit you <3

If this was to be added, there would have to be a toggle option to toggle on/off clan tags as I can see some players complaining about it being annoying.

That's a great idea, adding it to the post and crediting you.

I suggested this a month ago, didn't really gain too much traction.

Here's the example I used in my thread vy6vc9.png

http://www.alora.io/...9984-clan-tags/

The more I've thought about it, it's probably not worth the dev time + it's not in osrs

Ahh, thank you for informing me. Hopefully maybe this time around it'll gain more traction, or at the least more input from the community.

Also I just wanna note that I did try searching to see if someone else already suggested this but I didn't really scroll that far l0l.

I don't see anything wrong with this, it's even very helpful! But does the Clan Leader buy it once and then they can do it forever for that clan? Because in that case I think 5m might be a little low, near 10m might be better. :)

Thanks for making this very well-written post! :D

Thanks man! I'm thinking It's maybe 5-10m for the first Clan Tag. Then if the Clan Leader wants to change the Clan Tag, the price is increased to maybe 25m? Let me know what you think. Either one-time fee of 10m+ for unlimited Clan Tag changes, or just 5-10m for the creation, then 25m or so to change. Price can possibly double after every change?

#64109 Clan Tags

Posted by Zab on 23 March 2017 - 02:32 PM

Hey there, so I just want to start off by saying this is an idea formed by the collaboration of some of my #TNG Clanmates, as well as some of the community members who have posted below.

The idea is something seen in a few other servers, which is in-game Clan Tags. Maximum of 3 letters (to prevent spam), this would help people figure out what clan everyone is from. This is especially helpful in the Wilderness as bigger clans have trouble remembering all their new recruits.

Now to prevent masses of people creating their own Clans just to have a cool little Tag beside their name, players would have to register their Clan Name in-game by talking to an NPC and paying a fee of perhaps 5-10m; #Moneysink. This price is only temporary and I would like to know what price you guys think it should be. Now in order for new recruits to have your Clan Tag in their name, as the Clan Owner, you can either invite a player into your clan and have them accept, or a player may apply to join your clan and you the Clan Owner can choose to accept or deny. This can all be done at an NPC as well, where you can also choose to set your Clan as "Invite-Only", to prevent dozens of unwanted spam applications.

TL;DR:

  • Clan Tag appears beside the Player's username
  • Clan Tag is a maximum of 3 letters.
  • As the Clan Owner, to create your Clan Tag you must talk to an NPC and pay a fee of perhaps 50-100m (It is this high to make Clan Tags more respected as it's a 3-letter tag added to all Clan Member's usernames) #Moneysink
  • A Playtime requirement of 1-2 days is needed to create a Clan Tag  - Credits to  Iron Flee
  • Certain ranks can invite players to officially join the Clan with a Clan Tag
  • Players can apply to join the clan and obtain the Clan Tag.
  • Clan Owners can choose to set the Clan as "Invite Only"
  • Option to toggle on/off Clan Tags from being visible to you   - Credits to Error

Pros:

  • Helps Clans identify their clanmates in the Wilderness
  • Can be deemed an official way of joining a Clan
  • #Moneysink when creating the Clan Tag

Cons:

  • Clan Tags may look tacky to some (however being able to toggle them being visible to you will counter this)

Thanks for reading, and please let me know what you think and if you have any further ideas to build on top of this!

#61804 Castle Wars or Last Man Standing [Poll]

Posted by Zab on 15 March 2017 - 12:52 AM

I would love to see both mini-games implemented eventually, but every now and then I see new players notice/complain about the lack of PvP on this server. With that in mind I would vote for Last Man Standing to be added first. LMS will also have much more replayability than Castle Wars. Castle Wars IMO is a mini-game that booms for only a few weeks or so, maybe a month, but afterwards becomes only played by new players who want the cosmetics, or possibly old players trying to get achievements (assuming CW-related achievements would be added). Obviously there are multiple ways of combating this problem, such as having CW points being 1.5x on the weekends much like Pest Control, adding new achievements like "Win X Castle Wars games on the Saradomin/Guthix Team", "Win X Castle Wars games in a row" etc.

However LMS is a gamemode that I think would flourish forever. Just the entire concept of it would bring a whole new flavour to this server that most others probably don't have. The reason LMS has more replayability than CW IMO is because of the fact that in CW players are going in with their own weapons and armour. Every match will most likely be the same gear, on the same side, fighting essentially the same people. Sure there is teamwork and coordination to be had and Clans can compete, but in LMS, you start with basically nothing, there are no sides (unless you make truces but ofc there can only be one winner) and you must loot weapons and gear scattered all around the game zone making it a new experience every time. Also since in LMS every player's combat stats are boosted to 99 for the duration of the game, that ensures that new players can join instantly after creating their character.

TL;DR

Last Man Standing > Castle Wars (In my opinion)

#59896 Boss loots.

Posted by Zab on 08 March 2017 - 12:55 AM

Sorry, but your just gonna have to deal with getting no drops from a boss. Eventually, you will get an item or a rare item from them. You seem to misunderstand what we're saying. By you saying, "I feel like the bosses should always drop something." Is just like saying, "I feel like the bosses should always drop rare items and pets." Even if Omicron boosts the drop rate for items by like less than 1%, that could make a huge difference, people would be getting drops and rare drops, constantly, and it be crazy.

I totally understand why it sounds like Gazlowe was asking for bosses to always drop a rare. But it's all perspective, his statement could be taken either way. Whether it be for an increase of rare drop rates or simply just for bosses to always drop "something". And "something" could just be Bones or even Ash, and those wont break the game or economy. With that said, I don't see why not.

#58896 HCIM Downgrade to Normal Iron Man

Posted by Zab on 04 March 2017 - 02:03 AM

Today as a HCIM I decided to spend the 10m to remove my HCIM status in hopes of just being a normal Iron Man. Little did I know, paying the 10m would remove my Iron Man status completely, making me a normal player. I think we should have the option to choose whether we want to pay to downgrade to a normal Iron Man or to remove our Iron Man status completely.

Example:

Hardcore Iron Man > Normal Iron man = 5m

Hardcore Iron Man > Normal Player = 10m

This way if players still want to enjoy the Iron Man experience but with the ability to use banks, then they can do so easily.
