Phantom Muspah Guide

I. Information

The Phantom Muspah is a solo boss that can be fought in the Ghorrock Dungeon. It is the leftover energy of the Strange Creature that manifested after the events of Secrets of the North. The most notable items that come from Muspah are Venator shards to make the Venator bow, and Ancient essence to make the Saturated heart.

All forms of the Phantom Muspah have 33% freeze resistance, meaning it will only stay frozen for 66% of the base freeze duration of ice spells.

Dying to the Phantom Muspah is a dangerous death for HCIM and GHCIM. If players die against the Muspah, they will respawn outside the boss room with all their items. When the Muspah is defeated, it will respawn after 30 seconds.

General Information

The Phantom Muspah will spawn in either its Range or Melee phase.
Muspah will change forms after taking roughly 100 damage. The only exception to this is during the Lightning Clouds special attack.
As Muspah changes forms it will spawn a spike underneath the player. Move from your current tile to avoid taking light damage and being pushed off your current tile.
If Muspah begins with the Melee phase it will perform the Homing Spikes special attack first and the Lightning Clouds special attack second.
If Muspah begins with the Range Phase first, it will perform the Lightning Clouds special first and the Homing Spikes special second.
Special attacks will roughly occur at 66% and 33% HP.
Upon reaching less than 127 HP, Phantom Muspah will teleport to the center of the room and unleash a massive shockwave that engulfs the entire room. Only tiles protected by spikes will be safe from this attack.

Special Attacks

Lightning Clouds:

Muspah will rapidly teleport around the arena, leaving behind lightning clouds that travel across the area.
Getting hit by a cloud will deal up to 20 damage, though they can be avoided completely by standing on the safe spot tile.
Players should avoid standing on this tile until the attack occurs, so that spikes don't block the tile.
Muspah can still be attacked while teleporting around the arena, during which it will have the combat stats of its ranged form.

Homing Spikes:

Muspah will slam the ground, causing 2-4 spikes to target the player at a walking pace. After roughly 20 seconds, the spikes will stop moving and remain in place.
Like the spikes spawned underneath the player after a phase change, these spikes will deal light damage and push the player to an open tile if they are hit.

Range Phase

Phantom Muspah's Ranged form will primarily attack with ranged. Protect from Missiles will greatly reduce incoming damage.
Occasionally, it will charge up for a magic attack, and launch a magical blast at the player. When this animation starts use Protect from Magic to completely block the attack. If players fail to activate Protect from Magic in time, the magical blast will deal heavy damage over 60.
- Taking damage from the magic attack will also apply corruption onto the player that drains 3, 6, and 9 prayer points every 6 seconds, for a total of 18 prayer points over the course of 18 seconds.
Muspah's ranged form has reduced range defense, so it is best to attack the Muspah with ranged.

Melee Phase

Phantom Muspah's Melee form will only attack with melee. Protect from Melee will greatly reduce incoming damage.
Players can avoid its melee attack entirely using the step-back method.
This can be easily done by stepping back when the hitsplat on your player character disappears.
Players can also opt to freeze Muspah in place and attack it from a distance to avoid damage.
Muspah's melee form has reduced magic defense making magic attacks very accurate. Ranged weapons like the Twisted bow can still be used although they will be less accurate than they are on the range phase.

Shield Phase

Upon reaching less than 127 HP, Phantom Muspah will teleport to the center of the room and unleash a massive shockwave that engulfs the entire room. Players must stand behind a spike to avoid the attack, or it will deal up to 80 damage.
After the attack, it will change into its shielded form, activating a prayer shield and Soul Split, as well as increasing the max hit and accuracy of its attacks.
Phantom Muspah's Shield form is a reinforced range form and will use ranged and magic attacks.
Muspah's Shield form is immune to all regular sources of damage.
The prayer shield can be drained by the Smite prayer, enchanted sapphire bolts, Corruption spells, thralls and Ancient mace special attacks.
Muspah's shield will also drain by 2 after each of its attacks.
If using Smite make sure to off-tick your attacks with Muspah's so you can flick between your protection prayers and Smite.

Smite Skip

Players can "Skip" the Shield phase if they deal enough damage to kill Muspah before it uses the shockwave attack.
If Muspah's HP reaches zero before the shockwave attack the Shield phase will get skipped and Muspah will transition to its Post-Shield phase with 1 HP remaining.

Post-Shield Phase

Once the shield is depleted, Muspah will return to its ranged form. Again, using ranged and magic attacks.
Muspah will also create a large number of spikes (including one on the player's current tile) before resuming the fight as normal. The spikes will emerge every four attacks and cover more tiles, growing from existing clusters of spikes.

What is your suggestion?:

Implement scoreboards for Theatre of Blood and Chambers of Xeric similar to what Tombs of Amascut has.

Is this in OSRS?:

Yes, Theatre of Blood has a scoreboard that tracks global and personal times for each team size. The system at CoX works a bit differently but still tracks the top times for each raid size .

Has this suggestion been accepted already?:

No.

How would this benefit Alora?:

Players enjoy competing for personal bests and overall highscores. It would be nice to have them tracked for different party sizes. The lectern currently only tracks the global best time for each raid and the Boss Kill Log only tracks your overall personal best.

FAQ

Do I need to have max gear and/or stats?

No, this is not required. However, for some boosts/carries this may affect the price.

Does it matter if I lack experience/expertise?

The boosters will help guide you to the best of their ability. Listening to their instructions accompanied with the ability to do the chosen content normally should result in successful completions. Unreasonable boost/carry requests will not be accepted.

What happens if someone gets a unique?

All loot is considered FFA unless it is otherwise agreed upon prior.

Do you offer Inferno services or any other login service?

No, account sharing that progresses an account violates the rules of Alora.

How are combat achievements offered?

Combat achievements are either priced for completion or for a number of attempts. Some tasks are priced for a number of attempts as they are easily failed by a mistake on the customer's behalf. An important distinction here is the definition of an attempt. In this context, an attempt is defined as a mistake on the boostee's behalf which causes the failure of the task. Any mistake which fails the task(s) from a booster will not count as an attempt.

Alternate method to obtain Salve amulets

What is your suggestion?:

Add Crystal outcrops to the Super Donator Zone, near gem rocks, as an alternate way to obtain salve shards to make salve amulets (e).

Yes, on OSRS you are able to chisel salve shards in the Haunted Mine and create as many salve amulets as you'd like.

Has this suggestion been accepted already?:

No, the last suggestion addressing this topic resulted in the cost of salve amulets being decreased from 25 to 5 slayer points each.

How would this benefit Alora?:

Salve amulets are crucial to have for TOB and some COX layouts. 5 slayer points for every TOB run adds up quickly and salve amulets should be more accessible. Adding some crystal outcrops to the Super Donator Zone would provide a slight buff to that area and some extra incentive to donate.

On OSRS, salve shards can be chiseled from crystal outcrops and then crafted into salve amulets by adding a ball of wool or using the string jewelry lunar spell. On Alora, this process could just create the Salve amulet (e) because Tarn's diary is not in the game to enchant them.

Nex Guide

I. Information

Nex is one of Zaros' most powerful followers. She is imprisoned in the Ancient Prison, sealed away beneath the God Wars Dungeon.

Nex's Ancient Prison is locked behind the frozen door in the southern part of the God Wars Dungeon and can only be opened by having at least 1 KC at each of the other God Wars Dungeon bosses. (General Graardor, K'ril Tsutsaroth, Commander Zilyana, and Kree'arra)

This in turn requires a base level of 70 Hitpoints, Ranged, Strength, and Agility in order to reach Nex, none of which can be boosted.

Dying at Nex is a dangerous death. Your items can be reclaimed from the chest in the Nex lobby area or in the room behind the frozen door for 250K.

Nex's chamber can only be entered when she is not being fought, and up to 60 players can fight Nex per encounter.

Nex can run at the same speed as players and can jump to her target if they are out of her attack distance for more than 8 ticks. (Two attacks)

The first phase begins when Nex shouts Fill my soul with smoke!

During this phase, Nex will use Smoke Rush against players, which can inflict poison.

Special Attacks:

Choke - Nex will shout Let the virus flow through you! A random player will be targeted and *Cough* will display over their head. The choke attack drains the player's stat with highest attack bonus. The virus will also spread between adjacent players, so it is best to remain at least 1 tile away from other players during this phase.

A slayer helmet can be worn to reduce the duration of the Choke attack.

Drag - Nex will drag a random player towards her, stunning them and deactivating their protection prayer.

Smoke Dash - Nex will shout There is... NO ESCAPE! and dart down one of the four aisles in the chamber. This attack can deal up to 50 damage to players caught in her selected aisle. Nex will look in the direction she intends to dash down prior to the attack giving you ample time to move to safety. Avoid standing in the middle of the aisles so this attack can be dodged easily. Stand near the center or outside of the room.

After Nex reaches 80% health (2720 HP), she will shout Fumus, don't fail me! Now, Fumus will become vulnerable and must be killed to proceed to the next phase. Cast Death Charge before killing the minion and if you deal the killing blow, you will restore 15% special attack.

Nex's second phase starts when she shouts Darken my shadow!

During this phase, Nex will shoot shadow spells which are considered as ranged attacks. Players will take more damage from the shadow spells the closer they are to Nex, so it is advised to keep your distance.

Special Attacks:

Shadow Smash - Nex will shout Fear the shadow! Shadows will appear under every player. You have 3 ticks to move out of their way before they erupt and deal up to 50 damage.

Embrace Darkness - Nex will shout Embrace Darkness! The chamber will be darkened, the closer to Nex the darker the room will be. If players are stood next to Nex they will take constant damage from the pure shadow. It is best to freeze Nex with a Zamorak Godsword special attack before or at the start of this special, so she does not chase players and deal high shadow damage.

After Nex reaches 60% health (2040 HP), she will shout Umbra, don't fail me! Now, Umbra will become vulnerable and must be killed to proceed to the next phase. Cast Death Charge before killing the minion and if you deal the killing blow, you will restore 15% special attack.

Nex's third phase starts when she shouts Flood my lungs with blood!

During this phase, Nex will use Blood barrage against players which heals her a percentage of the damage dealt. This attack will only target one person at a time, although it is a 3x3 AOE.

Special Attacks:

Blood Siphon - Nex will shout A siphon will solve this! Nex will summon several Blood reavers and kneel down for about 8 ticks. During this time all damage she receives will heal her instead. Nex will do this at the start of each Blood Phase, so it is best to not attack Nex for 8-10 ticks after the end of the Shadow Phase.

Blood Sacrifice - Nex will shout I demand a blood sacrifice! A single player will be marked for sacrifice and glow red/orange. The marked player has roughly 4 seconds to move at least 7 tiles away from Nex otherwise they will be dealt up to 50 damage through Protect from Magic. Nex will heal for 1/3 of the damage dealt.

After Nex reaches 40% health (1360 HP), she will shout Cruor, don't fail me! Now, Cruor will become vulnerable and must be killed to proceed to the next phase. Cast Death Charge before killing the minion and if you deal the killing blow, you will restore 15% special attack.

Nex's fourth phase starts when she shouts Infuse me with the power of ice!

During this phase, Nex will use Ice Barrage against players, which will freeze them if they are not praying Protect from Magic.

Special Attacks:

Containment - Nex will shout Contain this! Nex will smash the floor and icicles will appear in a 5x5 area around her. Getting caught in this can deal up to 60 damage. Praying Protect from Missiles will reduce the damage by half of its original amount.

Ice Prison - Nex will shout Die now, in a prison of ice! She will freeze one targeted player using an ice stalagmite attack, surrounding them within a 3x3 AOE. She will face the targeted player as she casts the attack. Players next to the targeted player will be shoved aside for no damage. Any player on the same tile as the targeted player will also be stuck inside the Ice Prison. 4 seconds after forming the prison will shatter, dealing up to 75 damage to everyone inside if one of the stalagmites were not destroyed. To destroy a stalagmite, attack it with a weapon on the crush attack style.

If you are inside the Ice Prison and nobody frees you pray Protect from Missiles to reduce some of the damage.

After Nex reaches 20% health (680 HP), she will shout Glacies, don't fail me! Now, Glacies will become vulnerable and must be killed to proceed to the next phase. Cast Death Charge before killing the minion and if you deal the killing blow, you will restore 15% special attack.

Zaros Phase

Nex's fifth and final phase starts when she shouts NOW, THE POWER OF ZAROS!

During this phase Nex will call on Zaros' power, healing for 500 hitpoints and will only use her normal magic and melee attacks.

Nex will use several Ruinous Powers, which are Zarosian prayers during the final phase of the fight.

Turmoil - Lasting until the end of the fight, Nex's magic and melee attacks are now far more accurate and powerful, hitting high damage even through prayer. It can also drain the player's melee, range and magic stats, transferring the drained stats to her own.

Soul_Split_overhead.png?b255d Soul Split - An overhead prayer in which Nex will heal a small percentage of her health for every successful hit she inflicts on up to 3 players. She will use this as soon as the phase begins.

Deflect_Melee_overhead.png?6aaaf Deflect Melee - An overhead prayer similar to Protect from Melee that deflects the damage the player would have dealt to her with melee.

Wrath_overhead.png?d4061 Wrath - An overhead prayer in which Nex shouts Taste my wrath! This is a stronger version of Retribution and deals up to 50 damage to players within a 5x5 radius of Nex upon her death.

Nex will change overhead prayers every 5 attacks and repeat the cycle until she is defeated.

Use the altar on the eastern side of the room to teleport out after each kill and replenish your inventory. The altar can also restore your hitpoints, prayer and special attack once every 10 minutes if you are wearing an Ancient/Zarosian item.
