Intervies.png

This month we have a couple great interviews done by Monaco! Up first is Andy

MonacoWhat do you do in your spare time apart from play Alora?
AndyI have a close group of irl friends I usually hang out with weekly, whether in discord or at someone's house. I am also studying for my computer science degree to become a full stack web developer

MonacoWhat are some of your long term targets on here?
Andy : I recently just finished TOA, the main items I need are sang/scythe, torva helm, and torva platelegs. I am also planning to finish phosani for the inquisitors mace and skirt. After I obtain these items, I will probably chill out and do some pet hunting.

MonacoWhat keeps you motivated?
Andy I honestly don't know. I feel like I should have been burnt out ages ago. I'm usually multitasking while I play Alora whether it's being in a discord call with my friends or watching shows or twitch streams.

MonacoWhat's your favorite moment on Alora so far?
Andy My favorite moment is getting Tumeken's Shadow as the last rare that I needed to get all the items I wanted from TOA.

Monaco: Anything in particular you want to see added to, or changed in the game in the future?
Andy : I'm kind of hoping Osmumten's fang gets tweaked. I've heard a number of people talking about how the rapier is actually stronger.

Monaco: What made you want to stick with Alora for so long?
Andy : Alora was the first rsps I played, I think one of its best traits is the community. There are so many great friends that I have met.

And up next we have Hard Dance!

MonacoWhat do you do in your spare time apart from play Alora?
Hard DanceApart from going to work, I love to go out and visit a lot of raves/festivals. Music in general is my hobby, so sometimes I even travel long distances from home just to have some fun with a bunch of my IRL friends.

MonacoWhat are some of your long term targets on here?
Hard DanceOne long term goal I have set for myself about 1-2 years ago was completing the hard clue scroll collection log including the main 3rd age items. Recently I've completed the regular collection log (without rares) and as of right now I'm only missing four 3rd age pieces so I'm going to continue trying to achieve this almost unachievable goal, but I'm pretty close.

MonacoWhat keeps you motivated?
Hard DanceI think mainly the community over here on Alora. Through all the years I've talked to so many awesome people and joining Aftermath CC also helped me a lot since I can share my own achievements with other dedicated gamers.

MonacoWhat's your favorite moment on Alora so far?
Hard DanceProbably the moment when I achieved 4.6B xp on my main back in 2020. It felt like a big achievement for me at that time since I haven't done anything like that on servers I've played before and I proved to myself that I am able to finish a big grind like this.

MonacoAnything in particular you want to see added to, or changed in the game in the future?
Hard DanceHonestly I'm happy with what Alora provides to us, but I'm always down for changes that make Alora feel like we are playing actual OSRS.

Monaco: What made you want to stick with Alora for so long?
Hard Dance: Back in 2018 when I first started playing Alora, I already knew that this server would be the one. The active community, great game features, and a lot of different content that Alora provided way before any other servers did. I just feels right to be here haha.  :D

#435633 Add Dark Totem Pieces/Full Totem to the Slayer Shop

Posted by Charizard on 12 July 2022 - 12:53 PM

What is your suggestion?: Re-adding a way to purchase totems in the game.

Is this in OSRS?: NO

Has this suggestion been accepted already?: No

How would this benefit Alora?: The Totem pieces from Catacombs have been WACK for at least 2 years now. We had a way to get guaranteed totems from PKP but was taken away from ironmen after it was released to all account types, I am just asking that we at least get some sort of option to get MISSING pieces of totems as totem piece drops do not work on Alora as they should. It has been a problem for a long time and this is a way to address it. Make totems buyable with PVM and not PVP.

  • Assistive lunar spells (potion sharing, vengeance other, etc...) can no longer be cast on ironmen, unless they are in your group ironman group.
  • Fixed a bug where players could use the boost potion share spell with Zamorak brews.
  • Fixed a bug where redemption would not trigger from stomp damage (being under vespula) or thieving stun damage.

 [22/6/22] Hotfixes:

  • Fixed a bug where players could not access the F-key customization interface.
  • Added the Seaweed spore item spawn back to it’s previous area.
  • Fixed a bug where alchemy/enchantment spells could not be used.
  • Added the White apron spawns back to their previous area.
  • Fixed a bug where the HCGIM icon was overriding the smiley face emoji.
  • Fixed a bug where Accept Aid was not working properly.
  • Fixed a bug with the 2007/2010 gfx style toggle not updating the button text properly.
  • The projectiles for the ornamented dwarf cannon have been updated to match OSRS.
  • The max hit of Desert wolves has been reduced from 44 to a measly 3 damage.
  • The redemption prayer will now trigger right as the hitmarker shows up, similar to when the Vengeance spell triggers.
  • Fixed a bug where players would sometimes not be able to select a skill to add experience to using the Experience lamps.
  • The granite longsword now has the proper weapon definition/requirements.
  • The Trading post history interface should now be more properly centred in resizable, rather than anchored to the top of the screen.
  • Fixed a bug where players would get the "I can't reach that" message when trying to attack the Kraken boss from the entrance tile.
  • Fixed a bug where manually leaving the Recipe for disaster boss fight and Mage arena miniquest would count as a HCGIM death.
  • Fixed a bug where players were still able to BH teleport onto the Wilderness agility plank.
  • Fixed a bug where players were moving too close to enemies they were attacking with some ranged weapons (ex: blowpipe).
  • Added red spiders' egg spawns back to the Forthos dungeon, along with 4 more to make it 11 spawns, rather than 7.
  • Fixed a bug where the boost potion share and potion stat restore spells were swapped.
  • The Theatre of blood pet morphs now have placeholders.
  • Fixed a bug with the Friend’s notes sprite not showing up on the friends list.
  • Added placeholders for the Bloody Key, Ancient Key, and Crystal blood.
  • Fixed a bug where the crate ring would turn the player into a hellhound.
  • Removed the “Combat” column from the individual skill hiscores.

Hello everyone,

Hardcore Group Ironman is now live! Hop right into this new game mode and tournament to join the fun. There are many prizes to be won, for both group and solo tasks, so you're sure to find some objectives that suit your play-style.

Upon creating a fresh account (or one that has not finished the tutorial), you'll be able to select HCGIM and then create a group. The game mode is very similar to Group Ironman, so certain elements such as the Group Ironman Orb are shared between both. With that being said, the two game modes do not necessarily interact, and you can't mix GIM and HCGIM into groups. You'll find the full details below, make sure to look over them before starting your journey!

To celebrate the release of HCGIM, we're also running a store sale, so make sure to take advantage of the while you can!

  • HCGIM Store Sale:
    • 25% Bonus tokens:
      • To celebrate the launch of HCGIM, we're running a store sale and providing 25% bonus tokens on all purchases!
    • Custom donation bonus:
      • For the duration of the sale, all custom donations for total spent will now provide 4.5x towards your rank rather than the usual 4x.
    • Sale items:
      • The following times are currently discounted:
        • Elite void set
        • Drop booster scrolls
        • Gauntlet bundle
        • Farmers blessing
        • Cosmetic mystery boxes
        • GIM Removal Ticket

Aside from the HCGIM release and tournament, we've also packed in many fixes and improvements below :)

  • Hardcore Group Ironman mode is now available!
    • Designed to be the ultimate team challenge, this new game mode will allow you to partner up with up to 4 other friends and try your best to stay alive while working your way to the top of the hiscores!
      • Experience rate:
        • 6x base rate
          • This rate is identical to the GIM rate, which faster than Elite Ironman mode (4x) and Classic mode (5x), but not as fast as Hardcore Ironman mode (8x). This will tie in nicely with the regular GIM rate should players die and lose their status, as their experience achievements will hold the same value.
      • Experience bonuses:
        • The same limitations of GIM mode applies to HCGIM. Typical XP bonuses such as the Well of Goodwill will give 50% of the usual bonus (15% rather than 30%).
      • Invitations:
        • Every group will have a maximum of 5 lifetime joins. This means that only 5 players will ever be part of the group, so even if all 5 join and 3 leave, that team is permanently 3 players. Once the group is fully formed, it is formed permanently.
      • Kicks:
        • Players can be kicked from the team, which will cause them to lose their Hardcore status and revert to a regular Group Ironman.
        • This does not count as a death for the time at the moment, but nobody can take the place of the player who left. For example, if your team was 5 players (maxed), it will now permanently be 4 players.
      • Lives:
        • Every time someone joins your team, a life is added. If the team only ever has 3 players join, there will be 3 lives, and after players die a total of 3 times, the entire team is stripped of the Hardcore title.
      • De-ironing:
        • De-ironing is possible if you are NOT in a group. You will de-iron to regular Group Ironman. Experience rates are identical, but you will be stripped of your HCGIM armor first.
          • If you are already in a group, you'll have to first be kicked from your group, which would remove your Hardcore status regardless.
      • Hiscores:
        • The Hiscores will be available sometime within the next 24 hours, and it will be similar to the regular Group Ironman Hiscores, but will also show a few more details, such as:
          • Fallen groups (marked by a strikethrough the name of the group)
          • # of deaths in the group
          • # of invitations remaining for the group
      • Deaths:
        • WARNING: Unlike Hardcore Ironman, most deaths are dangerous for HCGIM.
          • This includes areas like Chambers of Xeric, Theatre of Blood, Pest Control, The Inferno, Fight Caves, Quest boss fights, which will all now be dangerous deaths.
          • The only safe areas are:
            • Duel Arena
            • Clan Wars
            • Last Man Standing
            • Castle Wars
            • When using an Inferno training ticket (regular Inferno will still count as a death)
        • Once the team loses all of its lives, the entire time will be downgraded to regular Group Ironman, but the group will stay intact.
          • The group will still show up with all of the team mates who were part of it at the time when it was downgraded, and the Hiscores will forever list them with a strike through their names.
        • Solo death:
          • Even if you are NOT part of a group yet, a death will still strip you of your Hardcore status.
      • Bonds/donations:
        • Bonds are the only item you can transfer from your main to your HCGIM.
        • The same donation rules that apply to other ironmen/classics apply to HCGIM (mostly cosmetic purchases only).
      • Clan chat:
        • “Group” clan chat will be auto-joined for GIM players (if not already full). This is the same as regular Group Ironman, given the many similarities.
      • Gold:
        • Similar to GIM, HCGIM receive half the usual gold.
  • Donator Perks:
    • Cannonball smithing:
      • Super/Extreme donators now get 1 extra cannon ball from smithing (5 instead of 4).
      • Legendary/Uber donators now get 2 extra cannon balls from smithing (6 instead of 4).
      • Master/Immortal donators now get 3 extra cannon balls from smithing (7 instead of 4).
      • Eternal donators now get 4 extra cannon balls from smithing (8 instead of 4).
      • No extra experience will be awarded from the extra cannon balls.
      • Extra cannonballs will also be given when using the Double ammo mould, making it possible to create a maximum of 12 cannonballs per steel bar.
    • Max Cannonballs:
      • The maximum amount of cannonballs a player can load into their cannon has been increased for specific donator ranks.
        • Eternal donators can now load 60 cannonballs into their cannon.
        • Immortal donators can now load 50 cannonballs into their cannon.
        • Master/Uber donators can now load 45 cannonballs into their cannon.
        • Legendary/Extreme donators can now load 40 cannonballs into their cannon.
        • Super donators can now load 35 cannonballs into their cannon.
  • Tithe Farm Interface:
    • Tithe farm now has an overlay when inside which tracks the current seed being grown, the players total tithe farm points, and the number of fruits they have in the sack.
  • Music Changes:
    • Music for certain areas of the game (mainly free to play, such as the Wilderness, Varrock, Falador, etc…) will now automatically cycle through a few area-specific songs, rather than just play the one-song designated to that region.
      • For example, in Varrock, one of four regional songs will play, and once it’s finished, it will choose the next song in the list.
        • Once all unique songs for that area are finished playing, if the player is looping, it will restart from the beginning, otherwise the music will stop playing.
      • This also means that when changing regions in these areas, unless the music in that area is different, the currently playing song will continue.
    • Added music to over 180 new regions around the game, including many dungeons/islands/less-ventured areas that did not have music before.
  • Fairy Ring Changes:
    • Players can now access the Isle of Souls (BJP) and Necropolis (AKP) fairy rings.
    • Players can now filter the fairy lists by either code (“AKP”) or destination name “Necropolis”)
    • Fixed a bug with the Fairy ring travel log not setting the proper code after searching sometimes.
  • Group Ironman Structural Changes:
    • To preface these changes, any player/group that is currently on cooldown must wait the original cooldown out.
      • For example, any players that have a join cooldown must wait until the original cooldown has expired for these new changes to apply.
    • Join Cooldown Changes:
      • The cooldown for how long a player must wait before joining a new GIM group (which is set after they join their current group) has been reduced from 25 days to 3 days.
    • Team Kick Cooldown Changes:
      • The cooldown between kicking team members (excluding self-kicks) has been reduced from 30 days to 7 days.
    • Max Transfers:
      • All Group ironman can now join up to 5 groups, rather than 3.
        • This was 5 for any GIM players registered before April 2020, and therefore they will experience no change.
    • Trade Restrictions:
      • When a member joins a new group, the items they can exchange with their teammates will now be restricted for the first 25 days that they are in the group.
        • These restrictions do not apply to accounts that join a group within 24 hours of creation, assuming that it is the first group they’ve ever joined.
        • Restricted players will not be able to give/receive any item worth over 50 million gp.
          • So for example, if a new player joins a group, they will not be able to withdraw/receive a twisted bow from the shared bank/their teammates, but they will be able to withdraw/receive a blowpipe.
          • Restricted players will also be unable to deposit/give their teammates any items over this restriction value, until the restrictions are lifted.
            • This includes dropped items, which will not show up on the ground for the other members.
          • These restrictions do not apply to total value, so for example, members can still trade each other over 50m gp, since 1 coin is only worth 1 gp, and therefore lower than the restriction threshold.
  • Item Spawn Expansion:
    • We’ve expanded the item spawns around the world, adding over 350 item spawns.
      • The item spawn locations will be similar to how they are in OSRS, with the only exception being the respawn timer on Alora being set to a static 10 second respawn (as it was previously), since players cannot hop through multiple worlds to collect items.
  • Runelite Overlay Changes:
    • The Snap corner for Runelite overlays near the minimal will now shift down a few pixels to make room for the Xp tracker if it’s present.
    • Item overlays (slayer kill tracker, inventory tags, etc…) should no longer be drawn on every interface.
      • Previously, these overlays would draw on some unwanted interfaces, such as the collection log, bank (for some overlays), shops, etc…
    • Players can now drag some specific interface components around to wherever they’d like on the screen, similar to dragging a runelite overlay.
      • The following interface components are now draggable:
        • Chambers of Xeric points/timer overlay
        • Wilderness KDR overlay
        • The Gauntlet timer overlay
        • GWD Killcount overlay
        • Tithe Farm overlay
        • Pyramid Plunder overlay
        • Theatre of Blood boss health bars
        • Wilderness Skull/level overlay
        • The Nightmare health bar
        • The Nightmare totem status overlay
        • Tempoross overlay
        • Nex health bar
  • Bug Fixes:
    • Players can now store at most 100m in their LMS coffer.
    • Fixed a bug where there would visually be a small gap on the top/left sides of the screen on resizable when a full screen interface (screen fade, for example) was visible.
    • Fixed a bug where the Jewelled crabs wouldn't reflect the focus sometimes if a pet was on the same tile as them.
    • Fixed a bug where box traps/bird traps would not disappear if a player logged out while a chinchompa/bird was being captured.
    • Players can no longer enter the Gauntlet with a pet following them.
    • Fixed a bug where players could sometimes get Brimstone keys on a Konar kraken task when not killing krakens.
    • Players will no longer be placed onto the wilderness agility log when using the Bounty hunter target teleport spell.
    • Fixed a bug where The Nightmare (not phosani) wouldn’t properly track on the loot tracker.
    • Fixed a bug where some player's Theatre of Blood killcount was not properly showing up on the Runelite Hiscores plugin.
    • Fixed a bug where the game style (2010/2007) text would overlap the npc attack options menu.
    • Fixed a bug where a player who was being attacked/in combat with a Revenant could not attack another player in Singles-plus, unless the other player attacked first.
      • Players can now initiate an attack on another player in singles-plus even if they are in combat with an npc (but not a player).
    • Fixed a bug where the mark for sacrifice color effect visually lasted too long sometimes.
    • Players can no longer interact with the double doors under the Morytania pub.
    • Fixed a bug where some Runecrafting altars (cosmic, body, mind) had incorrect object spawns.
    • Fixed a bug where 2 of the same Nylocas would spawn after a big one was killed.
    • Fixed a bug with the positioning of the Trading Post History interface.
    • Dawn’s energy orbs will now disappear when she is killed.
    • Players can now range past the energy orb objects that Dawn spawns.
    • Fixed a bug where the pathfinding when attacking the Abyssal Portal was not working.
    • Fixed a bug with range combat pathing where players would always move within the same distance of their target, regardless of if they were using a longer range bow, or the long-range attack style.
      • Players will now path slighter further away from their targets when attacking with range if they’re using a longer range bow.
    • The Abyssal Sire respiratory systems can now be clicked on from anywhere, rather than needing to be within attack range to avoid the "I can't reach that!" message.
    • Players will no longer be able to outrun Nex's Ice prison attack.
    • Looting the stone chest will now be properly tracked in the Loot tracker plugin.
    • Players can no longer use special characters in their Eternal donator titles.
    • Fixed a bug where the quest scroll option/teleport interface would sometimes trigger the wrong event.
      • An example of this might have been being teleport to a farmer’s blessing patch while changing skin colors.
  • Quality of Life:
    • Mining gloves (all 3 types) and magic secateurs will now go to the Reclaimables shop on death.
    • Players now have the option to prioritize the "walk-here" action over npc actions through the menu entry swapper plugin.
    • Players now have the option to prioritize the "walk-here" action over object actions through the menu entry swapper plugin.
    • Players can now choose to highlight the true tile or true southwest tile of an NPC using the NPC indicators plugin.
    • The time till level/time till goal will now show up in the Xp globes tooltip when hovering over the skill globe.
    • Players will no longer see any experience drops if they have the “Fake drops” option disabled in the experience tracker.
      • This does not count for damage drops.
        • For example, if a player has 200m in all skills, and fake drops disabled, then they will still see damage drops from combat actions, but no other experience drops.
    • The blocked experience icon will no longer show up if the player has damage drops enabled.
    • Players can now use the Home teleport spell/command when in PvP situations.
      • Previously this was removed to avoid giving players a free teleport when in PvP situations, and encouraging them to bring their own, however, since all normal spellbook teleports don’t have a rune cost, this feature was generally unnecessary.
    • Phosani’s Nightmare will now be separately tracked on the Loot tracker.
      • Previously it was classified as “The nightmare”.
    • Players will now have their cannon placed in their inventory if they have 4 or more inventory spaces, otherwise it will go to Nulodian.
    • Tempoross will no longer use it’s tsunami/lightning attacks if it has 10% or lower energy.
    • Attacking the spirit pool in the Tempoross minigame will now restore 3% run energy per attack.
    • Players marked for sacrifice by Nex or the Ancient godsword special attack will now have their color changed to match OSRS.
    • The default withdraw options in the bank interface will now be highlighted when the player hovers over them.
    • Added a placeholder to Sherlock's notes.

#433570 Minimal Mondays - Minimal Clue Steps on Mondays

Posted by Real Alan on 16 June 2022 - 09:26 AM

What is your suggestion?:

Add a new bonus for Mondays...

Minimal Mondays where clue scrolls are all minimal steps

Is this in OSRS?:

No

Has this suggestion been accepted already?:

No

How would this benefit Alora?:

1. Makes Mondays more meaningful (no bxp)

Steps: Currently -> Minimal Mondays

Easy (2-4) -> 2

Medium (3-5) -> 3

Hard (4-6) -> 4

Elite (5-7) -> 5

Master Clues (6-8) -> 6

2. Easy to code (old feature from League)

3. Fills a void

Clue loot bonus days -> encourage players to open caskets

Minimal Mondays -> encourage players to obtain caskets

4. Encourages clue booster use

Save up your caskets on Minimal Mondays and open them on a clue loot bonus day.

If you're too impatient to wait, pop a clue booster, support the server, and try your luck.

#433114 Enternal Slayer ring buff

Posted by Kahlua on 08 June 2022 - 07:02 PM

What is your suggestion?: Add more Teleports to slayer ring Enternal

Is this in OSRS?: some are but the ones I'm suggesting no

Has this suggestion been accepted already?: N/A

How would this benefit Alora?: makes enternal ring more useful as the teleport wizard kinda OP so having some easier QOL tps directly to monsters would be dope,

Suggested Locations,

> Catacombs of Kourend

> Dusk & Dawn door

> Cerberus in instance

> God wars Past shortcuts outside the bosses door basically u can choose which one (click on Godwars option then it sub tabs which boss door)

> Drakes

> Wyrms

> Hydra Outside door

This isn't related to prior suggestions,

While wielding Enternal Slayer ring increased change of superior spawning this should be considered seperate to prior suggestion if accept clarify which components will or wont be accepted.

Kind Regards,

Kahlua.

    • The Blacksmith's helm and tribal masks no longer make your head invisible.
    • The pool of nightmares to access Phosani's nightmare will now open up after killing the nightmare once, rather than requiring the player to relog after their first kill.

Hello everyone,

Today's update brings a number of Theatre of Blood changes, with a big thanks to @Mack for compiling a list of the current bugs and inconsistencies with ToB. We've also made plenty of other QoL changes, particularly with interfaces such as adding a search button to the Teleport Wizard's interface, as well as sorting the list alphabetically. We've also updated the House list, using the proper interface and full functionality to view other players' homes. The Wilderness Bounty Hunter interface has also received some love, and is now more similar to the OSRS interface, allowing it to be docked/minimized.

Additionally, any players who had the Barbarian Assault icons (custom donations) will now be able to equip those items in the "jaw slot" which is an invisible slot so that the items do not replace your cape. With this jaw slot functionality, we've also introduced Soul wars red & blue icons, as well as an interface to toggle these items on your character. All 6 "jaw-slot" cosmetic items (4 Barbarian Assault icons, and 2 Soul wars icons) are available in our store. Keep in mind that they are not tradable, and once unlocked they will always be on your account! The added benefit of this is that they will not be lost on death, either.

  • Shop Changes:
    • Custom Icons:
      • We’ve expanded the in-game icons to include more icons and apply the cosmetic effect more conveniently for players.
        • When a player tries to equip one of their icons from now on, it will prompt them with an option to permanently bind the icon to their account, allowing them to show off the cosmetic icon without needing to take up an equipment slot (previously the cape slot would be used for icons).
          • Players can change their icons by speaking to the donation manager.
      • We’ve also added 2 new icon types, being the blue icon and red icon.
        • Players can purchase these new icons, along with the old barbarian assault icons from the shop’s cosmetic section.
    • Icon prices:
      • Attacker icon
      • Defender icon
      • Collector icon
      • Healer icon
        • 575 tokens
      • Red icon
      • Blue icon
        • 1,000 tokens

aR2B9sJ.gif

  • Theatre of Blood Rework:
    • Stat boosts will no longer be removed when entering the Theatre of Blood.
    • A Vyre Orator will now appear at the beginning of the Theatre of blood just before the Maiden barrier.
      • Players can speak to this Vyre to end the raid for the entire team.
    • The Maiden of Sugadinti:
      • The blood spawns will now spawn permanent blood splats in hard mode.
    • Bloat:
      • Players can now attack bloat at any point throughout the fight.
    • Nylocas:
      • Fixed a bug where Nylocas would sometimes spawn into the pillars when the Large variants were killed.
    • Sotetseg:
      • Sotetseg will now attack potentially attack using a relatively inaccurate Melee attack if it’s target is in melee range.
        • Players who protect from melee will have this damage reduced by 50%.
        • The max hit of this attack is 45.
      • Sotetseg will now only attack with it’s mage ball attack, rather than both the range and mage ball.
        • The range ball will be from rebounds, rather than the primary attack.
        • The damage of these 2 attacks has been increased from 45 to 50.
    • Xarpus:
      • Fixed a bug where xarpus would continuously face the same corner in his defensive stage sometimes.
    • Verzik Vitur:
      • Phase 1:
        • Players will now be able to speak to Verzik to start the fight when they enter the phase.
          • The fight will officially begin when players speak to verzik and start the fight, or 2 minutes elapse.
        • Players can now deal damage to Verzik in Phase 1 without the Dawnbringer.
          • Accuracy is reduced, and damage is vastly reduced as well.
            • Range/Magic attacks can do 0-3 damage at most.
            • Melee attacks can do 0-10 damage at most.
        • The dawnbringer special attack now works properly, dealing between 75-150 damage on Verzik in the first phase.
        • Rocks will now fall around the pillar that Verzik attacks in Phase 1 in Hard Mode.
          • These rocks will deal between 5-35 damage, and stun the player for 5 ticks.
      • Phase 2:
        • Verzik will now be unattackable for a slightly longer period when transitioning from phase 1 to phase 2.
        • The exploding crabs in the Theatre of Blood will now do the correct amount of damage.
          • If the player is in any of the occupied tiles (4 tiles that the crab occupies), they’ll take 63 damage.
          • If the player is 1 tile away from the crab (any perimeter tile), they’ll take 26 damage.
          • If the player is 2 tiles away from the crab, they’ll take 8 damage.
          • The damage of the explosion will also be scaled down based on the ratio of the crab’s remaining hit points.
            • For example, if a crab with 50% hp explodes and the player is within 1 tile of it, the player will take 13 damage, rather than 26.
        • Verzik will no longer use the red magic ball attack in phase 2 until she is at 35% hp or less.
        • Verzik now has a Bounce attack that she uses during phase 2.
          • If a player is within 1 tile of her when she is about to attack, she will instead use a bounce attack on that player, dealing between 0-45 damage, and stunning that player for 8 ticks.
            • This guarantees that the player will have to tank a second hit if Verzik decides to use the poison orb attack.
        • Once Verzik has reached 35% hitpoints in this phase, she will begin to alternate attacks between the red magic attack and the range bomb attack.
          • She will also begin by spawning 2 Nylocas Matomenos, who will wander around, and then eventually explode healing Verzik for their remaining hit points.
            • She will spawn these once she reaches 35% or less hitpoints, and then every 8 attacks after that.
  • Client Settings Changes:
    • A new setting has been added to show dead npc’s context menu options.
      • This means that when an npc is dying, their context menu options will now be hidden by default.
        • The setting to re-enable the context options is only available on the runelite client, and is permanently disabled on Vanilla.
    • All of the “Coming soon” and un-used options in the extra settings list have been hidden.
  • Boss Killcount Interface Changes:
    • The Boss/Monster killcount interfaces have now been separated.
      • In the Server statistics tab, players will notice there is now a “View Monster Killcounts” option, and a “View Boss Kills/TImes” option.
      • We’ve given the boss killcounts/killtimes it’s own custom interface that is more aesthetically pleasing, and can also show bow kill times and killcounts at the same time.
        • The Monster killcounts interface will remain the same, due to the larger capacity of the scroll interface, and the search functionality.
      • The Ring of Wealth “Boss Log” option will now work properly.
      • These changes will also be reflected in the Adventure log in a player’s POH.
  • Wilderness Overlay Improvements:
    • We’ve adjusted the wilderness overlay, particularly the bounty hunter overlay, to match OSRS more closely.
      • This new overlay can be minimized or docked to different sides of the screen, and will adjust it’s positioning depending on if the KDR overlay is opened, or if the xp counter is visible.
  • Teleport Wizard Changes:
    • The Teleport Wizard search button has now been made far easier to recognize.
    • The Teleport wizard interface is now sorted alphabetically.
      • This new change may take a bit of getting used to for our veteran/dedicated players, however we think it’ll be a lot easier for new players to quickly and easily find what they’re looking for.
  • Equipment Rebalance Tier Changes:
  • House List Changes:
    • The House list interface has received a huge upgrade, which will now allow players to see all houses opened to the public, along with their features.
      • This new house list will show the following information for any open homes:
        • If the owner has a guilded altar
        • The tier of the owner’s Portal nexus (if they have one)
        • The tier of the owner’s Rejuvenation pool (if they have one)
        • The tier of the owner’s Jewellery box (if they have one)
        • The tier of the owner’s magic Altar (if they have one)
        • If the owner has an armour stand
      • Players will also have an option to directly enter the houses of any user listed on the interface.
    • Home owners who have their house open to the public and are not in build mode will automatically show up on the house list interface if they are in their homes.
      • To remove yourself from this list, you can right click the portal inside of your POH, or click the “add/remove house” button on the house list interface.
  • Collection Log Changes:
    • Additions:
      • Added the Dragonstone Gauntlets to the Miscellaneous category.
      • Added the Abyssal Protector to the “All Pets” category.
    • New Categories:
      • Random Events:
        • This category will track all of the possible items that players can obtain from random events specifically on Alora.
          • Any new items obtained will automatically be logged.
            • Players who already have these items will need to take them to The Collector npc to have him log the items.
              • All items in this category can be logged after the fact through The Collector.
      • Skilling Outfits:
        • This category tracks all of the mainstream skilling related outfits obtainable on Alora.
          • This includes the Angler outfit, Carpenter outfit, Farmer’s outfit, Graceful outfit, Lumberjack Outfit, Garments of the Eye, Prospector outfit, Pyromancer outfit, and the Rogue outfit.
            • This log does not include variants, such as coloured graceful/ornamented prospector/angler equipment.
            • All of the items in this log can be registered through The Collector if the player did not already have them in their log previously.
              • Players who had the rogue outfit before these changes will need to bring it to The Collector to have it registered.

    • Kree’arra will now only use melee if her target is not focusing here when she’s about to attack.

    • Nulodion:
      • Nulodian will now hang out just outside of the Edgeville general store, waiting to help any player’s who’ve lost their Dwarf cannons.
        • If a player logs out with a cannon active, or it decays, players will need to go speak to Nulodion to retrieve their cannon.
          • Nulodion will charge a fee, 750k for classic/normal, 500k for ironmen/realism, to reclaim the cannon.
            • Warning: this will only work with 1 cannon at a time, so if a player has 2 cannons, and they lose their second one while Nulodion is holding the first one, it will be permanently gone.
            • Players will be notified that Nulodion is holding a cannon for them upon login, and immediately after the cannon decays.
    • The Dwarf cannons will now decay after 35 minutes if they are not repaired.
      • After 25 minutes, dwarf cannons will not break down, requiring that the operating player repair it.
        • Repairing it will reset the timer, meaning that the cannon won’t break down for another 25 minutes.
      • If the cannon is left broken for 10 minutes, it will then decay and disappear, and players will need to reclaim the cannon from Nulodion.
    • Any cannonballs in the dwarf cannon when it decays, or when the player logs out, will be removed and deleted, so make sure to empty your cannon before you logout with it.
  • Gauntlet Changes:
    • Players can now properly upgrade their weapons in the Gauntlet while they're equipped.

    • Fixed a bug where the 3rd weak monster a player killed would sometimes not give a weapon frame in the Gauntlet.
    • Strong monsters (unicorns, scorpions, wolves) will now guarantee a weapon frame in the Gauntlet if the player has not received one already.
    • Corrupted Grimy roots will now be highlighted by the Gaunlet plugin.
    • Players will now automatically cook the raw paddlefish in the gauntlet every tick instead of having to repeatedly click the range.
    • Players will now automatically fill vials in the gauntlet every tick instead of having to repeatedly click the water pump.
    • The skilling action interface will no longer pop up for making unfinished/finished egniol potions in the Gauntlet.
  • Nightmare changes:
    • Drinking a relicym's balm or sanfew to weaken the nightmare parasite will now return the status bar/hp orb to normal

      • This can reverted through the same process, but on the Tome of fire (empty) instead.
    • The Kolodion imbued cape dialogue will now show the proper cape that was imbued.

    • Players can now milk dairy cows using empty buckets to obtain buckets of milk.
    • Skeletal mystics' magic attack will now land 1 tick later.
    • The camera will now be more focused on the player, as opposed to having a slight offset.
    • The repurchase price of the Salve amulet has been reduced from 25 Slayer points to 5.
    • Players can now select the amount of bones they wish to unnote on at the Elder chaos druid.
    • Removed the skilling interface when using bones on an altar.
      • This means players can now train prayer faster by constantly using bones on the altar themselves.
    • The Sanguine and Holy scythe of Vitur now have a "Check" option in the equipment interface.
    • Players can now use jugs/buckets/pots of water on clay to make wet clay.

#431708 Add Vyrewatch Sentinel Slayer Tasks

Posted by Iron Beavis on 22 May 2022 - 02:52 PM

What is your suggestion?:

Add Vyrewatch Sentinel slayer tasks.

Is this in OSRS?:

Yes. Most if not all slayer masters assign Vyrewatch tasks in osrs.

Has this suggestion been accepted already?:

I don't believe it has.

How would this benefit Alora?:

Blood shards are a slow grind, and it would be nice to earn some slayer exp and brimstone keys along the way.

I also suggest making Vyrewatch tasks extendible for obvious reasons.

Thanks! <3

#431170 I - 4.6

Posted by Sassa fras on 15 May 2022 - 08:13 AM

Good morning forums users/lurkers,

Yesterday I reached a big milestone in my account, I thought I’d share some info on the journey to 4.6b. Whether you’re a maxed ultimate ironman looking to pump those xp numbers up or a normal, functioning member of society repulsed at the thought of Nobankmanmode, hopefully you’ll find something interesting further down below. I owe a big thanks to my friends in the community for always giving me tips and motivation along the way, much love.

gujtSsu.png

Taking a quick look at the methods I used:

Attack/Strength/Defence – A good amount of this was from general slayer/bossing, but I camped Vyres pretty hard for the rest:

1RlfmDE.png

I wound up getting 15 blood shards in total. These melee combats were actually a lot slower than I thought, I was averaging 3m xp/hr here.  Difficulty 5/10

Ranged – This was my first combat 200m, doing bossing and endgame content with a blowpipe was very quick to get.  Difficulty 3/10

Prayer – Almost entirely from Puro-Puro. Dragon imps give large noted drops of dragon/babydragon bones:

OcYt7zl.png

I didn’t want to risk the large amounts of bones in wildy, but obviously it would have been faster if you have wildy protection. If you would prefer not to spend hours and hours running in circles, an alternative method would be to use ash sanctifier/bone crusher while doing slayer. Difficulty 6/10

Magic – I barraged a lot of slayer tasks at Catacombs, this was the easiest combat skill to get.  Now that we have more rune shops than ever, you’ll only be limited by your cash stack to replenish those runes. Difficulty 2/10

Runecrafting – For all the runecrafting memes, I thought this one would be a lot worse. Crafting soul runes with dense essence is more afk than other methods, although as UIM we can’t bank all of our essence to save up on a runecrafting SOTD. No pet btw. Difficulty 6/10

Construction – I returned to the game after incense burners were removed, so I was dreading getting supplies. However, there was an update that added big quantities of noted teak and mahogany planks to the CoX drop table. I was grinding out Raids items and easily got enough planks for 200m along the way. After you get the supplies, this is one of the fastest skills (20m+ xp/hr). No pet btw. Difficulty 5/10

Hitpoints – Passive skill, you’ll get it from the others. Difficulty 0/10

Agility – Very boring, ran in many, many circles. Difficulty 7/10

8eiMcnf.png

HerbloreThe hardest skill, this will be the biggest obstacle for any UIM going for 4.6b. We’re unable to use Kingdom, so that rules out a nice passive way of getting tons of noted herbs. There are a lot of different ways to tackle this, but almost all of them are painful.  Because I am an idiot who doesn’t use a looting bag or Zulrah/Hespori storage (personal preference), it was almost unbearable. I used a few different methods since my inventory was changing for various goals at the time.

For herbs:

  1. CoX/ToB for noted Dwarf Weed, Toadflax and Snapdragon.
  2. Herbiboar (got most of 200m hunter here) for all kinds of herbs.
  3. Callisto and Venenatis for Noted Toadflax and Snapdragon (while getting secondaries).
  4. Kurasks for Irit, Kwuarm and Cadantine seeds to farm herbs (while getting secondaries).

And these are where I got my secondaries from:

  1. Crushed Nests – Callisto, I was going for pet/log so I went here instead of Mole.

    I5HQ4dS.png

  2. Red Spider Eggs – Venenatis and looting from Forthos Dungeon (8 spawns).
  3. Zammy Wines – I didn’t have enough room in my inventory to save the ones from ToB, so I instead looted a couple hundred at a time from the wildy altar (4 spawns, noted).
  4. White Berries/Limpwurt Roots – Kurasks, I didn’t think growing these from seeds received from farming contracts was worth it.
  5. Eye of Newts – Paul

I didn’t bother with making Super Combats, because holding Torstols in my inventory on top of all these other supplies was just too cluttered, and it just seemed like more work than it was worth. Daily task shop sells them anyway, who needs herblore for that? Difficulty 11/10

Thieving – I grinded this out at the super donor stall two years ago, don’t really remember much about it other than lots of clicking while watching movies. Difficulty 5/10

Crafting – I used five main methods:

  1. Cutting gems received from CoX and ToB.
  2. Cutting gems/crafting dhide bodies from Callisto and Venenatis.
  3. Glassblowing at charter shops.
  4. Making amethyst dart tips from 200m mining grind for blowpipe.
  5. Cutting dense essence blocks during the 200m runecrafting grind.

One of the harder skills to do, it’s not even that quick after you go through all the effort of getting the supplies (like construction). I haven’t done any Gauntlet, but I think that really would have helped speed up this skill for me. Difficulty 8/10

Fletching – I had tons of supplies from Puro-Puro (dragon dart tips/dragon arrowtips/etc) during the 200m prayer grind. If you save up a bunch of vote points you can always just load up on rune bars to turn into dart tips. For the rest I did amethyst darts to put in my blowpipe. Obviously when you have all the supplies, this skill is very, VERY fast in wildy (rip your wrists though). Difficulty 4/10

Slayer – One of the hardest skills, I saved this one for last. For almost all of the 200m grind I barraged nechryaels and dust devils in Catacombs on Konar tasks... this was about 3m xp/hr. For the last 10m xp or so, I did Zuk tasks, which give 4.4m xp per task (takes about 50 minutes with suiciding + gearing + completing the run). Picked up a cool pet the run before getting 200m:

GwcfOkM.png

I think if I did this over, I would have started Inferno tasks much, much sooner. Difficulty 9/10

Hunter – I used two methods, both have their pros and cons. Red chins are faster xp than Herbiboar, but not by much. It has the benefit of not needing much inventory space, but you don’t end up using the chins at all. Also, if another player is in the best spot at ::DZ, you have to go do something else or use a less optimal spot (which means less xp). Herbiboar is less click intensive and gave noted herbs (donor perk) that I needed for 200m herb. NEITHER PET(Baby Chin and Herbi)?!?   Difficulty 7/10

Mining – I tried to get to as many Shooting Stars as possible for the initial xp drop of finding it first. The rest was done at Amethyst.  Difficulty 4/10

Smithing – This skill should pretty much be renamed “Gold Smelting at Blast Furnace”. The only barrier to this 200m is getting enough gold ore. My main sources were CoX/ToB, wilderness bosses, and buying the stock from Blast Furnace shop. Buying the gold ore was especially annoying to do, because my inventory was so cluttered I had to suicide every time I wanted to buy out the entire stock of 500.  Difficulty 8/10

Fishing/Cooking – Afk skills that go together, not too fast and not too slow.  Difficulty 4/10

Woodcutting/Firemaking – These were the initial 200ms that I grinded out for monkey back in the day. Woodcutting at redwoods was a relatively quick and afk skill, the only annoyance was how often the redwood trees would be completely bugged. Firemaking was very fast, just set your home tele to Varrock, burn a line down to the Varrock bank and repeat. Difficulty 2/10

Farming – The huge xp drops from higher-end trees/fruit trees/Calquats make this skill easy. Seed box is a big help for UIM, as we don’t have access to the seed vault. Difficulty 3/10

And here’s a final look at my skilling pets collection log during this grind to 4.6b.

Onto the next goal (new post coming soonTM), thanks for reading!

#430927 [12/5/22] Vote Shop Revamp, Gnome Gliders, New RuneLite Plugins & more!

Posted by Omicron on 12 May 2022 - 01:30 PM

7FUfd34.png

Hello everyone,

Today’s update includes some changes that we’ve been meaning to implement for awhile, such as revamping the vote shop with new skin-color unlock tickets, updating our installer to come prepackaged with Java to avoid issues with GPU/HD plug-ins, and updating our RuneLite plugins. We’ve also added some cool new features, like Gnome Glider travel, among all of the other miscellaneous bug fixes and QoL we’ve implemented. In other news, we’re also looking  forward to sharing more information on an upcoming competition soon ;)

  • Alora Installer Changes:
    • We’ve updated the Alora Windows Installer to have a specific 32-bit and 64-bit version of the client that is used players run it.
      • This should resolve any issues that players might experience due to java versions/installations, and allow players to quickly and easily swap between the 64-bit and 32-bit version of java, should they experience any issues.
        • Generally the 64-bit version will run smoother, however it does not work properly on all devices, particularly when it comes to the GPU/117 HD plugins, so anyone experiencing these issues should use the 32-bit version of the client.
  • Plugin Hub Changes:
    • Added the Improved Tile Indicators to the accepted plugin-hub plugins.
    • Players now have access to the Tileman mode plugin through the plugin hub.
    • Mahogany Homes Changes:
      • Players will now be told the total amount of points earned after each Mahogany Homes contract.
      • The Mahogany Homes plugin is now an official client plugin, so players will no longer need to go through the plugin-hub to use it.
        • Along with this, we’ve also fixed a few bugs with the plugin, such as session points not being counted, and tasks remaining counting up rather than down.
      • Players can now use the Crystal Saw and Golden Hammer while in their bank when doing the Mahogany Homes Minigame.
    • The Monkey Metrics plugin can now be accessed through the plugin-hub.
  • Wizard Guild Shop Changes:
    • Wizard Akutha now runs the Wizard Guild rune shop, rather than Wizard Sinina.
      • We’ve also added battlestaves, along with staffs of air/water/earth/fire to the shop stock.
    • Wizard Sinina now sells Wizard robes.
      • The shop includes basic mystic robes, as well as split bark armour.
  • Clan Chat Changes:
    • Player’s on the Clan Owner’s ignore list will now be barred from joining the clan chat.
      • The owner must login and open the clan settings interface for the ignore list to take effect within the clan.
        • Any members currently inside the clan that are on the ignore list will be kicked and barred from re-entry.
        • Any members that were not online, but in the clan will be removed the next time they login.
  • Vote Shop Changes:
    • Blood Runes:
      • Players can now purchase blood runes from the Vote shop, costing 2 vote points per 50 runes.
    • Rainbow skin color ticket:
      • Players can now purchase the rainbow skin color ticket for 6,000 vote points, permanently allowing them to access the skin color.
    • Blue skin color ticket:
      • Players can now purchase the blue skin color ticket for 2,500 vote points, permanently allowing them to access the elysian blue skin color.
    • Purple skin color ticket:
      • Players can now purchase the purple skin color ticket for 2,500 vote points, permanently allowing them to access the skin color.
    • Pink skin color ticket:
      • Players can now purchase the pink skin color ticket for 2,500 vote points, permanently allowing them to access the skin color.
    • Orange skin color ticket:
      • Players can now purchase the orange skin color ticket for 2,500 vote points, permanently allowing them to access the skin color.
    • Divine Green skin color ticket:
      • Players can now purchase the divine green skin color ticket for 2,500 vote points, permanently allowing them to access the skin color.
    • Players who use the ticket to unlock a skin color will then have access to that skin color through the Makeover mage if they ever choose to swap the skin out.
    • There is also a “Preview” option on the skin color tickets in the shop so that players can preview the skin color before purchasing it.
  • Gnome Glider:
    • Players can now use the various gnome gliders around the game to quickly travel between the other glider locations.
      • All of the locations are unlocked by default.
  • Menu Entry Swapper Plugin Changes:
    • Players can now enable the Object and NPC left click customization options through this plugin.
      • This will allow players to set their preferred left-click option on objects and npc’s.
        • To do so, players must hold shift and right-click an object or NPC, then they’ll see options to swap to the left click option.
          • OSRS generally doesn’t allow this to work with thieving related actions, however we’ve decided to allow that on Alora.
  • Guardians of the Rift changes:
    • Fixed a bug where players could stash Guardian essence in their pouches between Guardians of the Rift games.
    • Players who do not meet a minimum combined point threshold after a Guardians of the Rift minigame will be presumed afk and kicked out of the area.
    • Catalytic Points have been reset to 0 for all players due to a bug where players received 100x as many as they should.
      • This allowed players to simply focus on Elemental points.
    • Donators will now obtain bonus points during the minigame.
      • Eternal donators receive 20% more points from any eligible action.
      • Immortal donators receive 15% more points from any eligible action.
      • Master donators receive 10% more points from any eligible action.
      • Uber donators receive 7.5% more points from any eligible action.
      • Legendary/Extreme donators receive 5% more points from any eligible action.
      • Super/Regular donators receive 2.5% more points from any eligible action.
    • Runes crafted in the Guardians of the Rift minigame will now properly count towards the daily tasks.
  • Costume Room Additions:
    • Magic Wardrobe:
      • Players can now store the Trailblazer graceful set in their Magic wardrobe.
    • Armour Case:
      • Players can now store the Shattered cane in their Armour Case.
      • Players can now store the Shattered relics Tier 1/2/3 outfits in their Armour case.
  • Bug Fixes:
    • Fixed a bug where players could stand under GWD minions in certain situations to avoid being attacked by them.
    • Fixed a bug where players would sometimes get knocked by the Guardians in the Chambers of Xeric if they were in the scavenger or farming rooms just before the Guardian room.
    • Fixed a bug where thralls would sometimes spawn into the wall in some areas.
    • Fixed a bug where the Camera rotation was not properly being smoothed when using uncapped FPS on the GPU or 117 HD plugin.
      • Players should now notice that if they’re getting higher uncapped FPS, the rotation of their camera will be a lot smoother.
    • Fixed a bug where bonus daily task points were not properly being awarded in certain scenarios.
    • Barrows equipment will now break when being added to a loot key.
    • Fixed a bug where players could not use escape to close some interfaces (Quest scroll selection, construction, etc..).
    • The dragon sword attack speed has been changed from 5 ticks to 4.
    • Fixed a bug where Konar tasks would count as 2 hard tasks for the Daily Task requirement.
    • Fixed a bug where players would get hit by Vespula when she was enraged if they were only 2 tiles away from her (still technically under her) rather than 3 tiles.
      • This means that Vespula will only hit players standing on one of her perimeter tiles when she is enraged.
    • The leaf bladed spear is now a 2H weapon.
    • Getting the Abyssal protector pet will no longer add it to the collection log twice.
    • Fixed a bug where Noranna would sometimes tell you your bank was full when trying to deposit Daeyalt Shards, when it was not.
    • Fixed an issue where the ancient forge was not working properly.
    • Fixed a bug where the new revenant cave exits would put players in the wrong parts of the wilderness.
      • Players should also be aware that there is a separate staircase to exit the revenant caves now, so that players cannot use the revenant entrances to escape as easily.
    • Fixed a bug where the courier would sometimes notify players they didn't have room for the sand/seaweed in their bank when in fact they did.
    • The intricate pouch will now properly be added to the Collection log.
    • Adjusted the dialogue to be more clear when depositing items from the herb sack/gem bag/seed box/bone sack/plank sack into your bank.
    • Added placeholders for clue scroll boxes.
    • Fixed a bug where opening clue geodes would cause the scroll boxes not to stack properly.
    • Fixed a bug where the Inventory presets plugin would save the incorrect spellbook when refreshing.
    • Fixed a bug where players would be pj’d by Revenant Maledictus, and become unable to attack other players nearby.
      • Attacking players will now take priority over combat with Revenant Maledictus, similar to other revenants.
    • Marble gargoyles no longer drop bones on death.
  • Quality of Life:
    • Increased the value of the Occult necklace to more closely match the exchange price.
    • Players who are wearing the Runecrafting skillcape (or any equivalent cape) will be able to enter the Blood Altar without a talisman.
    • New players will now have their scroll wheel zoom unlocked by default.
    • The max/completionist monkey, along with any variants, will now count as god items in the God wars dungeon.
    • Players can now freely morph the dark squirrel into the Giant Squirrel and vice versa.
      • Only players who have used the Dark acorn on the Giant squirrel may do this.
    • The Stepping stone shortcut that allows players to cross the stream to get from Shayzien to Hosidius is now functional.
      • These stones require level 40 Agility to cross.
    • The "Inside" option on the house teleport tablet will now teleport players inside their house.
    • The Gem mine and Duradel teleports on the Karamja gloves 4/3 now work properly.
      • Only super donator+ players may access the gem mine teleport.
    • Added the Lletya Fruit Tree Patch to the Farmer's blessing.
    • Added the appropriate dialogue when trying to dig with the large spade.
    • Added a 2 tick delay before the hitsplat appears when using the crystal bow (including the gauntlet versions).
