From a quick look at the vote shop, the only items that can be bought for collection log slots are untradeables/pets, while your suggestion is for tradeable items, plus it would take away from the grind for those items. No support.

I've been wondering for a while now, that how many collection log slots do people have completed?

 

Since there is no collection log hiscores like in OSRS has a 3rd party one (@Omicron pretty please ), I would love for y'all to post the screenshot of your amount of collection logs completed, preferrably entire client screen shown, and I will update this post with some sort of a leaderboard.

 

I will begin with mine in spoilers:

After returning six months ago, I decided to finish what I had originally started: in Part II, I had completed all collection logs of the old versions of the wilderness bosses... but there was a lot to do after the rework.  Of course like the dummy that I am, I had dropped all of my inventory and gear when I had quit, so I had a clean inventory and slate to work with. I would not have to endure one hour death-pile another hundreds of times, thank God. I would risk it all (other than my 3-4 protected items) for the following three goals:

 

1 - All Wildy collection logs

2 - All Wildy combat achievements

3 - Obtain Voidwaker

 

My quick and simple path to finishing these goals

 

1 - Kill Revenants ::redskulled with crystal bow for Rev weapons and ether - Obtained Craw's Bow and Viggora's Chainmace

2 - Die often to PKers, go kill Revenants for ether

3 - Complete log and CAs at Venenatis - Upgraded Craw's to Webweaver Bow, Obtained Voidwaker Piece 1/3

4 - Die often to PKers, go kill Revenants for ether

5 - Complete log and CAs at Callisto - Upgraded Viggora's Chainmace to Ursine Chainmace, Obtained Voidwaker Piece 2/3

6 - Die often to PKers, go kill Revenants for ether (I am sensing a pattern here...)

7 - Complete CAs at Chaos Elemental, Chaos Fanatic and Crazy Archaeologist - Dropped Webweaver Bow

8 - Die often to PKers, go kill Revenants for ether (Copying this over and over again is almost as frustrating as having to replenish ether)

9 - Go dry at Vet'ion for Voidwaker piece, back to revs for ether

10 - Complete log and CAs at Vet'ion - Obtained Full Voidwaker!!!

11 - Die often to PKers, go kill Revenants for ether (Someone make it stop)

12 - Complete miscellaneous logs like full Dagon'hai, Eternal Glory, Kruk Jr (wildy course laps) and Ecumenical Key

13 - Die often to PKers, go kill Revenants for ether (I am dead inside)

14 - Complete Revenants log, praise Omicron that I don't have to step foot in this fucking cave ever again - Dropped everything

15 - Get basic gear and supplies for KBD outside of wildy: Hasta, Fury, and lots of potions (went to Herbiboar for antifires/prayer/super restores)

16 - Complete KBD log

17 - Cry because it's over:

 

 

 

Tips from my time as a UIM in wildy

 

1 - Always try to do any PVM on task for ancient emblems and Larran's Keys. You can trade in the emblems for PKP, great for quick supplies when PK'd:

 

 

2 - Learn which of your targets are friendly, and which are not. Having Iron/HC/Fe/etc. in their username does NOT mean they won't be hunting you.

3 - Don't get greedy hoarding ether for your Rev weapons, since you lose it all to a PKer on death. It's just more time you have to spend in Rev caves.

4 - Don't get greedy hoarding cash from Revs, either. Very easy to store it in LMS, Miscellenia Coffer, or Servant's Moneybag in POH.

5 - Use untradeables to your advantage, like Crystal Bow, Salve Amulet (ei), Barrows Gloves, Slayer Helm (i), etc.. They're cheap to buy back from Lost Items Manager when PK'd. Just make sure you protect your Slayer Helm (i)!

6 - Be very careful what items you are protecting, and always make sure you have some prayer-restoring potions to avoid getting Smited. Here's a sample inventory and equipment I was using at one point:

 

 

7 - If you are trying to complete Revenants log, make sure you start killing Maledictus sooner rather than later. I procrastinated and suffered the consequences of leaving it last. From my experience, it spawns once every 27 minutes...this is an incredible 2 kills per hour. Here are all the Revs I slaughtered:

 

 

8 - Use Daily Rewards (Food, Prayer Potions) and Daily Task Shop (Super Combat Potions) to replenish supplies.

Agree with @mochiii, @Miq and @Mack. The core issue with finding players to ToB has always been the player base and people not wanting to learn the raid. Even before the last scaling changes, there were barely anyone doing the content.

 

My issue with making it easier to do as solo/duo is the fact that it will become so easy that it defeats the point of it being endgame content. It is not supposed to be easy, especially solo and duo ToB. You are supposed to have really good gear for those and experience in the raid. CoX is supposed to be endgame content but you can basically do it with Void, Whip, Trident and Blowpipe as a SOLO player quite easily and in reasonable time. It's not challenging whatsoever (admittedly some of it is due to the mechanics being simplified, though). I really hope @Omicron listens to the players who actually care about the raid being a bit more difficult and not a snooze fest that it was before the rework. It has already been nerfed to a point that it should not be too hard to do without max gear in smaller teams as long as everyone knows what they are doing. For example, before the last scaling changes, I was able to do solo HM ToB with Bandos, Whip, Void and Blowpipe. It should not be that easy in my honest opinion.

 

I understand that people are frustrated and can not find enough players to run 3-5mans regularly but that's always been the case. When I first started doing ToB, it was only a handful of players as well and I had to learn duos and inevitably solos (which was more for the challenge than anything else) and guess what, I did not complain for the lack of players and did those horrible 24min duo times with some friends that wanted to grind the content as well. In addition, the rates of rares are better now and the content is not just sitting there and Tbowing the whole way and the issue remains: not enough people want to do the content. A similar trend can be seen with the Nightmare. The drops are lackluster and rare items are not BiS anymore or can be seen as not worth the grind but that's quite another topic altogether. Alora strikes to be as close as possible to OSRS and making the only, somewhat challenging, raid easier is not the way to go in my opinion.

I get this take, but I also think there is a line between actually nerfing content mechanics and reducing HP to support a smaller group. If ToB mechanics worked the same way they did years ago when you could blindly tbow verzik, didn't have to tank, didn't have to swap prayers or use any tech at all I wouldn't make the suggestion. Reducing boss HP in a duo isn't going to change the fact that you still have to learn ToB. This isn't really aimed to support the people that aren't willing to learn ToB. It's for the people that want to ToB outside of bonus or during lower traffic play times. 

Tob is supposed to be the hardest content in the game, and duo is one of the hardest ways to do tob, apart from solos. I understand doing duo tob in not 100% BIS is difficult, but the raid was made to be the pinacle of endgame content. Scaling won't fix the issue of finding a duo to do tob with when people stop doing tob because they get the item they want, rather than people legitimately doing tob because they find the content enjoyable, and those people are going to have duo's of their own.

This isn't going to solve the problem of bankstanding waiting for a +1. The issue has always been not enough people willing to learn the content; however you'll find plenty of people doing tob on bonuses. I don't believe we should keep nerfing this piece of content to incentivize more people to do tob more often.

How would this benefit Alora?: This is a small change that (in my opinion) would make the cape look 10x better. I know a few people who would support this, but I wanted to see what everyone in the community thought of the idea. Just for reference, I'll show pics of the current cape, the Grandmaster cape since it has the blacked out neckline and trim that I'm looking for. In the new version of the Infernal Comp cape I would also like to see black trim where the red trim on GM cape is.
