So I noticed that the corrupted gauntlet isn't shown on the monster drop tables, I want to calculate my drop rate for the enhanced wep seed and just wanted some feed back if I'm doing math correctly lol

From my understand generally Alora has a 25% better drop rate across the board than OSRS, eternal status has a 19% boost, and a gaunt booster is another 25%. The wiki says that the enh wep seed is 1/400 from corrupted so this is what I'm doing

1.25 (alora boost) x 1.19 (eternal) x 1.25 (gaunt booster) = 1.86 (rounded up being an 86% boost on drop rate vs osrs drop rate)

So 1 - .86 = .14 (the new drop rate) which would be .14 x 400 = 56 so essentially a enh crystal weapon seed would be 1/56? Seems way lower, but could you mathmeticians lecture me if this is correct?

Alora's usual 25% drop boost applied to the OSRS 1/400 drop rate gives a 1/300 base drop rate.

Gauntlet booster of 25% applied gives a rate of 1/225.

Eternal drop modifier of 19% stacked onto this yields 1/189.

Dunno if this is correct but it's how I've interpreted drop chance.

I do not believe this is quite correct, but again I could be wrong.

When looking at drop chances, in this case being a 1/400, we have to look at the following.

You are not reducing the drop rate to 0.14%, you are increasing your odds at the 1/400 by 86%. This means you can look at it like the following:

The base rate is 1/400, by increasing the drop rate by 86%, your drop rate theoretically becomes 1.86/400. If you then divide 400 by the new 1.86 drop rate, this gives you 400/1.86 = 215

This means that with all of those boosters active the effective new drop rate would go from 1/400 to 1:215.

I believe this is how the math checks out but again I could be wrong.

Hi, please check out this guide on drop rate calculations

https://www.alora.io...-drop-boosters/

With 69% boost you’re looking at a 1/236.68 drop rate

This is how I've always interpreted drop rate, I don't believe it multiplies but instead adds, could be wrong though. Regardless, it'd either be this way ( DR*(1 - dr increase)) compounded, or the way SSS has outlined resulting in 400/1.86.

86% boost on drop rate vs osrs drop rate) So 1 - .86 = .14 (the new drop rate) which would be .14 x 400 = 56

Here's the math issue...

You can't do 1 - %boost to obtain drop rate.

Why not?

Say you had double the drop rate -> 2x rate -> 200% drop rate -> 200-100 -> 100% boost -> 1

1 - 1 = 0

and that makes no sense.

Here's how i'd do the math...

hope that helps  <3

Lastly, keep in mind that drop rate and probability of receiving a drop in X kills are different.

here's how you'd calculate how deserving you are of a drop  :D

alternatively, you can use the probability calculator plugin on runelite if you're not a math person  ;)

As the legendary Michael Dapaah reiterates, Three Quick Maff.

Interesting facts to know, I always enjoy seeing @Real Alan's explanations of drop rates. The mans the Albert Einstein of Alora!
